Had an awesome dinner here while staying in Mexico with friends. We were treated like family and taken very good care of. The sushi was great and the Steak Hibachi was the star of the show. Today we were craving sushi so we came back here for the second night in a row. Christian, Charlie and Jorge all made us feel so welcome here. This time we ordered the tempura udon, red snapper with fried rice, Vallarta and Dora Dora rolls (per Christian's recommendation). The sushi were fresh and delicious as always. I especially love the fried rice here. It had a smokiness to it like it was charred from the wok. A big thank you to all the staff for the hospitality and the wonderful meals that we had here. Tried this place based on reviews but found the sushi not much better then grocery store sushi in the states. Very thinly sliced, and texture and quality seemed like freezer burned. The other tell was nearly all the rolls had imitation crab in the ingredients. read more

Refreshing to have as close to authentic sushi you can get in Mexico. No mayonnaise sauces or anything crazy like that just plane good!

The food, the service, the ambiance is absolutely wonderful! We visit as often as we can. Always our go to sushi/tepenyaki/tempura spot.

Fish was warm ( not what you want in raw fish!). Would not go back.... Also, most seating is outdoors; not good on a hot, humid day.

O.M.G. My husband and I are total sushi snobs and after extensive research we found this place while vacationing in PV. Saying that it was amazing is an understatement. The sushi is FRESH, delicious, & the sushi chef (he said his name was Wasabi Flores lol) was hands down perfection. We asked for a special roll to be made with whatever he thought was good after eating 5 different rolls, and he did not disappoint. Normally we don't return to places we're vacationing after enjoying the food but we HAD to come back, they were that good. And we're from LA/OC & this place beats our faves back home. I tried the tuna Nigri. The tuna was acceptable. I ordered the shrimp hibachi. Shrimp over cooked , vegetables were mushy. Another person ordered the beef teriyaki. Same deal mushy vegetables. Another person ordered tofu hibachi again the same mushy vegetables, and a huge pile of mushy tofu. One person ordered a selection of Nigiri and sashimi. All in all I think he liked it. The restaurant is overpriced. There was no finesse to the way they cooked and serve the food. It was just piled up on a plate. Would definitely not go back. The service was good. AMAZING FOOD My partner and I really wanted to try sushi on our vacation, so I found this place on yelp. It was quiet after a storm on a Thursday night but the small restaurant was still full when we got there. We were seated immediately and the service was great. Both of our waiters really tried to get to know us, even gave us recommendations. We absolutely loved the Salmon Taco dish-- SOOOO fresh and salmon was great! We left very happy and full that night! The food was absolutely amazing. Such a great job on the presentation as well. The service was super fast (we were the only people in the restaurant at the time) so I'm unsure about much busier times. The restaurant is small and cozy when it's not busy but it may have a chance to feel a bit loud if it's busy but again I haven't been able verify that. In all I would stop by here for reasonably priced sushi! Good job guys! read more

This place is amazing. Tempura was yum for appetizer. Spicy tempura tuna was very tasty, and Vallarta Roll with Mango and Tuna was perfect blend. The rice is what makes the sushi (I'm Japanese, I should know)...and it was very soft and sticky. Just like it should be!! Great friendly staff too. Go to this place if you like sushi! My daughters LOVE hibachi and sushi, so we decided to find a place where we could enjoy a nice evening! Yamada was our pick and OMG it was perfect from the moment we walked in!! The location was 2 blocks from our Airbnb in Zone Romantica and super close to the markets and the beach. The outside isn't anything special but go on in; the husband and wife owners are super special and made the experience second to none! We sat at the habachi grill and drank/ate till our hearts and bellies were past content! Ya yi yi! We had sake, Sapporo and a great limonada/vodka. We had sushi rolls and OMG they were so fresh and so delish and these crispy onions with eel sauce topped one of the rolls and we all ate them until gone! We had salad, miso soup, spicy and salted edamame, and then all of our hibachi items....rice, veggies, and our fav proteins were the steak and shrimp!! Oh me oh my.....this meal was to die for and we may return before we leave on Sunday!! The charm and humor of the owners was delightful and topped off a stellar experience!! We found a place that gives the midwest a run for the money:) We tried a few nigri sushi items and a few rolls, super fresh and very tasty.. Yamada not only has Sushi but a few Tepan tables for hibachi cooking. We did not try that but the tables we saw were having a ball and said the food was great!
