Nepali and Indian cuisine in Chinatown... A refreshing twist in from the usually Asian foods found in the area and why not take a tour and dip into the variety that we're lucky to have here in Hawaii though not the expert in this type of foods as I haven't been in the region or have experience the culture but knew that I'd be in for some spice in my life. This newer shop is more an express rather than the dine in like the other location and is found in Maunakea Marketplace in the heart of Chinatown which makes it easy to access as there are multiple entrances as I found parking right on N King Street so it was just walking through Kekaulike getting there. Thank you Nadine for the suggestion especially Sunday though crowded is free parking so it's a matter of finding the spot which I did so it was a easy stroll and find as it's grouped with other food stalls and the vibe is relaxing with a few tables available so that enjoying your bite is easy in the shaded area versus in the hot sun. I know the volume they so generously portion out so it was just the single plate for me and an easy choice of Butter Chicken along with rice it was a yummy paring and the kind gentleman asked if I wanted vegetables which I did started to prepare some to order and it was nice side along with my meal. The express style is very fast and convenient and though there are some language barrier the staff was so pleasant it's nice to see that many come here to enjoy something that's not usually found in the area. Thank you!

Brand new Indian Buffet next to Maguro bros in the Maunakea food court. Everything we tried was good but I should have ordered it more spicy. Prices were fair and service was friendly.

An absolute gem in the heart of Honolulu's Chinatown. Himalayan Kitchen on Maunakea Street is soooo bomb, with the best flavors and so many options!! Every dish had a perfect balance of spices, and the portions were generous. We got the garlic naan, an assortment of yummy sauces, and the mix tandoori - a combination of tandoor chicken, charred shrimp, lamb, and fish that I absolutely adored. If you're in Chinatown, don't miss out on this hidden treasure. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

Their closed didn't last to long. Over priced and not very good Indian food. Not the ideal restaurant for downtown area.

Made it here again, third time around. lol first time was a fail, second time was a success, and…read morenow, another successful visit. These Filipino boys are so funny. Very polite, excellent customer service, and good salesmen lol. Still in the same location, in the heart of Chinatown, in maunakea marketplace, food court side. I ordered the pampano, wife ordered the red snapper, and we was talking about the blue crabs and the guys heard, and did a good job selling it to us. The thing is, they only sold the crabs in a big bulk, like pan size. 2 fish plates, and a pan of crab came out to $100 ish?! I think. Is that a good deal? Idk. lol. Wish they sold it in like 1, 2, or 3 crabs at a time in smaller portions lol. Anyways, this experience was good. They actually went down and picked our fishes for us, but I think the original experience is you go down, pick/buy your own fish, and then bring it up and have them cook it? But even better that they go down to the fish market, grab the fish for you that way no need stress about picking your fish lol Anyway, man they provided a lot of sides, the wife and I, got a side each of scoop of Mac salad, Kim chee cucumber, and Kim chee daikon? To me, they were pretty big portions for sides lol so they served these sides to us first. Yes, and the boys served it to our table. And then served us our food. I think I wanted my fish a little bit more crispier, but was still good. Finally got my pampano fix, and wife really liked her red snapper. I didn't try the crab. Wife said crab was okay. One thing I have to point out is flies. Eating in the food court, for me, personally, no can enjoy eating with flies around. I got to eat and enjoy enough to get full. We were hungry. And we just brought the rest of our food home that we never finish and the pan of crab. Shared it with my father in law. All in all, great experience. 10/10 recommend. Would we come here again? Yes. I have to frickn try the garlic fried noodles, and the wife said she'd definitely go back for her snapper fix again. Go check em out guys!
