Sukuti that is over cooked and yes that is grease
    Alan G.

I ordered the Sukuti and the chicken momo. The only reason I gave it a two star is that momo was tasty and warm. I ordered through DoorDash which I keep swearing that I am going to stop because it takes forever for someone accept and deliver the order so I don't know if that was the cause of the food being warm. But the Sukuti was horrible. You can see in the picture that the meat was black and I can tell you it was hard and dry like the griswalds Christmas turkey. I had to throw it away because it was horrible. And yes the orange liquid is grease. For $10 it was in the sandwich styrofoam container. This was not worth an $18 dinner and that is not including any fees. Oh I almost forgot I asked for a spice level of a 10 and it wasn't spicy. I was not impressed the first time I ate there and I will not be going back.

This is my favorite restaurant in Colerain! The vegetable biryani is to die for. I love love love it! The menu is visually appealing. The atmosphere is great. I absolutely love this place. It's a must try! Very unique options.

Very fresh. The raita has freshly chopped vegetables. Tea is wonderful. I hope this place lasts!

The food was DELICIOUS- I got the chana masala, garlic naan, and a mango lassi, all of which were some of the best I've ever had, and my dining companion got the chicken chow mein, which they loved and said was elevated by the two types of onions used and the lime on top. We both are wusses and only got the spice level of two- I personally would go up to a three or four next time, and my dining partner said that they would stay at a two (their spice tolerance is lower than mine). With tip, we paid around $42, which we felt was very reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. The restaurant was very empty on for a Saturday night- when we walked in around 6:00 PM, there was a couple that was packing up to leave, and a few delivery drivers came in to collect orders, but for the most part, it was just us, which needs to be rectified, as Hot N Spicy Restaurant and Bar is truly fantastic. The only thing we could think of was that the location wasn't optimal for attracting attention from potential customers passing by (it's in a strip mall, sandwiched between a Goodwill and a Habitat for Humanity ReStore), and people just don't know it's there? Overall, we can't wait to come back, and we're excited to tell all of our family and friends about this hidden gem so that they'll come try it too!

First, you should try this restaurant. It's a small business run by a mother and her daughter and…read morethe food was delicious. Second, don't get confused. The place seems to go by many different names. You will find the restaurant named Parijaat Restaurant and Bar on the store front and on Yelp. There is a website for Moon Restaurant and Bar. The menu is titled Moon Restaurant and Bar. I've included a picture of the front. We were confused so you don't have to be. Just walk in. The ambiance isn't great. The first thing you'll see when you walk in is a pool table. There are maybe six tables off to the side in the back. There is also a full bar up front to the left as you walk in. The mother doesn't speak English. The daughter knows some English. While definitely not fluent, it didn't matter because she was very sweet. Because the place is small and I imagine business is slow, there are a lot of things on the menu they do not have. If you get a menu with black Xs on certain items, that means they do not have it. Even with limits there were plenty of options. There were four of us and we all got something different and we got two appetizers. We started with Samosas; I didn't get a picture. You get three in a serving. The filling was spicy and delicious. They came with a little bowl of what looked like soup. It was brothy and had vegetables in it. I didn't try it, but those that did said it was very good. I'm not sure if the Samosas were supposed to be dipped in it, but I didn't. We also had Chili Chicken Momo. Everyone agreed this was the best thing we tried. We recently had an appetizer with the same name in Chicago and it was SPICY! Deliciously spicy. I mean fantastic. The dish at Moon Restaurant and Bar was not spicy, though it looked like it should be. Instead they were almost sweet. The serving was huge. If we come back we will order this again. Mark had Chicken Tikka Marsala. When ordering he was asked how spicy, but he misheard and thought the scale was 1 to 3 so he ordered a 2. Well, it was 1 to 10. Why do I mention this? Because Mark likes things spicy and his meal was not. As a result he thought it was bland. I had Chicken Curry, which ended up being the strangest looking curry I've ever seen. That said, the chicken was tender and the flavors were very good. There was a definite taste of cinnamon. Made me wonder if they make their own curry. I'm not sure, but I'd get it again. One friend had Soup Momo. She thought it was bland. I tasted it and it she was right. Our other friend has Chicken Biryani. She enjoyed it. I loved the color. I think everyone should support this establishment and give it a try. Some of the items were standouts and others were just okay, but overall it was wonderful meal.

We went on a Friday evening and except for some takeout orders they were not busy. The food is primarily Indian with some Nepali dishes. The chicken momos were ok. The dipping sauce not so much. I would say the food was fair. We had the goat curry, lamb jalfrezi and chicken korma. Portions were generous. Garlic naan was good. It appeared that the couple that owned the restaurant also cooked and served which is fine but expect a slow service. The inside decor is old and needs general updating.

Nobody was here (6pm on Saturday), which should have told me to not go, but I starving. It's in the back of a grocery. It was super dirty inside. The floors, walls, just everything was dirty and dingy. My hunger made me think "maybe this will be a surprisingly good hole-in-the-wall situation". They had no music and these two loud beeps that happened constantly. The server was sick and sneezing and sniffing. The food took forever. Plates and silverware were wet; a puddle in the plate. Portions were small. My goat was 50% bones, not meat on the bones, just bones. The rice was dry and clumpy like it was reheated in the microwave. Nan was crispy. Normally I eat very spicy food but my stomach had been weird so we asked for 5/10 and my dude was literally sweating. It said it was a tomato sauce but this was just a bland brown flavor with cilantro. We couldn't eat but 2 bites. Paid full price and left. Luckily she didn't ask how it was because I was prepared to be honest. I think she knew. I didn't know it could get so bad. How are they open? My new low standard will be "well at least it's not as bad as the Indian restaurant in Fairfield!"

Large stuffed dumplings, dishes with layers of flavor and spice (but not heat, per my request). Attentive, friendly, service, and culinary options that are (were at that time at least?) rare to find in the region. Meeting my mentor here for a meal was such a pleasant surprise, this small strip mall location delivering some seriously great food. We each ordered appetizers, and multiple dishes, and between the two of us we didn't have a bad bite. Now, I can't remember exactly what we ordered.... but I'm more than willing to go try a few new things next time.
