Outdoor fire pit is cozy. You can order drinks and food from this location, however it only seats 12 people. First come, first serve.

Surprisingly, a much better experience than last year at one of Norfolk's premier roof tops. We returned because of the convenience of parking Downtown Norfolk. This location is surrounded by parking meters and paid parking garages and yes that wonderful view of Hampton Roads. We met outside around the fire pit around 5pm, we laughed, cracked jokes, and watched the sunset. Then we moved inside for dinner. We were served very quickly. This place boast of imported beer from all over the world. Great drink menu, I prefer the tangy red sangria. I ordered the fresh Aha tuna poke bowl for dinner, served raw with Sriracha Aioli, seasoned avocado, crispy cucumbers, kimchi, crunchy wonton, Seaweed Salad, Edamame, sweet firm sushi rice, and Black Sesame Seeds, which was absolutely as good as it sounds. Seriously, I should have ordered one to take with me. Lots of singing that night. Karaoke is available (wink).

Hotel was nice. Staff was nice. They say I have to have eighty-five characters to post...

I got to stay here on my way out of Virginia and I wish I had found this place earlier, because oh what a great time. There are clubs and restaurants in this hotel space, and from what I could see... this is THE Hotel in Norfolk. I thought I had already made a review for this hotel, but lately YELP has been limiting my reviews. Not sure what that is all about. Still... this is a fantastic place to stay if you find yourself in Norfolk Virginia.

Great Downtown Norfolk location near outdoor sights and local restaurants. Parking garage in in the building so park on level 3 to walk into the lobby. The front desk lobby is very pretty with some "cool" artwork. The elevators to the room are quite slow and rarely not crowded. The executive lounge is very nice. Great food and drinks with a complimentary breakfast. The rooms are pretty quiet but need some TLC. Our furniture was pretty banged up and the toilet was very slow to fill after flushing. I still can't figure out why they would put a TV in the bathroom mirror that only faced the door. Wr also had a mini fridge in the closed that was too big and prevented the closet doors from opening more that 5 inches. (Room 2115) The main room TV worked well and the bed was very comfortable. Our room stayed cold all night. The room had very large floor to ceiling windows with some great views of the marinated and harbor. I highly recommend the restaurant, Saltine, attached to the hotel for a great seafood happy hour. Overall, I really liked this hotel and would stay here again.

I enjoyed everything about my stay at Hilton Norfolk The Main. The check in process was both friendly and pleasant. We arrived at lunchtime and were looking to drop off our bags with the front desk but to our surprise the rooms were ready and the keys were provided. This was several hours early so I was impressed! I find that most hotels will enforce the check in time. I had a lovely waterfront room that was comfortable and plenty spacious. Housekeeping was excellent and even left me with extra water and towels as requested. The best part about the hotel is probably the availability of onsite restaurants. There were several and we enjoyed a couple of them. Saltine has an excellent happy hour that we took advantage of. Grain has a lovely rooftop bar that would be great during nice weather. Due to the cold, we sat inside but still had great water views. Breakfast was not included but there was a cafe type place attached to the hotel that I didn't get to. Would have been nice had a breakfast buffet been included but minor detail. The parking was also not included but that seems par for the course in a downtown location. All in all, a great experience! The location is unbeaten with plenty of local eateries and shops within close walking distance. This will be my regular spot during business travel to the area.

This is our room tell me what is missing ? I guess being Hilton Honors members means nothing.

We got to our room today at 2:30 and checked in. Got to room it's a shared room so I called down girl answered phone said sorry we sold out. Then we noticed no table no chair by the bed! What the what? For a honors members means nothing! I will be contacting corporate

This is actually a really nice Hilton location. From the moment you enter the lobby you quickly get the feeling of an upscale location with a lot of options to offer. There are three different dining establishes in the building, and they all seem to be very well managed. We did have a chance to eat at the Saltine which is the main seafood restaurant, and service and food was outstanding. One of the highlights for me. Is the artwork spread throughout the building. Not sure who is curating the art, but it definitely has a extremely diverse and eclectic taste that was very impressive. The pictures I sm sharing only represent a fraction of the total artwork in the building. Our room was really nice with a beautiful view overlooking the city. Staff was really helpful as I checked in late and was promptly checked into my room. And even when we had some problems, connecting the Wi-Fi there wasn't any issues getting that corrected. I will definitely be staying here on a regular basis as I come back-and-forth to the Norfolk area.

Fantastic conference facilities and service! I'm an exhibitor, among 20 other tables, and the coffee service in the exhibitor room was fantastic, with all the accoutrements. Spotless restrooms. Lunch buffet is among the best I've seen. Salmon and pork tenderloin were also options, along with this tender chicken breast. Super tasty mixed roasted veg, and 2 salad options as well. Desserts were a Panna Cotta and a delicious apple/pear Tart. Is this really banquet food?!? :-) Highly recommend booking an event here!

A very comfortable hotel in an ideal location in downtown Norfolk. Our room featured two Queen beds and was very spacious. On the 16th floor one had a view over the city. The lobby and front desk are on the second floor. Arriving by car one had the option of valet parking or self-parking in the garage. Note that you park on Level 3 of the garage to access the lobby. We had dinner at Saltine and breakfast at Varia, all within the hotel. The two egg breakfast was excellent! A coffee bar is located on the first floor. The hotel is within walking distance of the waterfront park and the Waterside District.

Same great location w great upper floor views and restaurants on site. Visit in November bc of the bonus holiday decor. Same parking fees and ho hum kcups (1 dark magic and 1 Colombian). Staying Sun pm not as good as weeknights due to happy hour availability.

Superb hotel for our crew, unsure how long we will be there based on company contracts but the venue is amazing. Rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. The 3 restaurants offer different food and experiences. Staff is very friendly and hospitable. Lots to walk around in the area for a nice stay.

View from 11th floor room. There is a lounge beneath so don't plan on going to sleep early.

Ask the Community - Hilton Norfolk The Main

Do you have the restaurant too?

Yes their bar/restaurant is open.

What is the clearance on the parking garage ? Can trucks fit?

I have a suburban and it was fine, the turns around the corners are sharp and narrow though. I recommend parking in reverse or it is a slow process to get out of the parking space with a large vehicle.

What is the daily rate for parking? Is there additional fees every time you exit the parking lot?

$1.50/hour if you valet. I believe you must pay each time you exit.

What is the parking situation when staying at The Main?

You can self-park or valet your vehicle. The parking garage is attached to the hotel, so it's very convenient. The garage entrance is on Plume Street.

The hotel is very walkable to many places to eat, including a really nice steak & seafood place around the corner. Walking to the room was a pleasure, as they have art on display throughout the property, as well as a nook in the main hall upstairs that has a water fridge and fresh fruit for the guests. The room was FABULOUS! When I first entered it my first thought was the interesting and unique design of it. The layout was spacious, of both the bedroom and the shower/water closet areas. The HVAC was nice and quiet and worked great and there were plenty of windows in my room. Bed was comfy too. Most importantly, the room was very clean! No mildew or mold in the shower area, no stains on the floor, everything looked great. They also featured Illy coffee in the room, with a special Illy coffee maker! Definitely enjoyed my stay here and I'll be back!

The king bed was comfortable if a bit soft and the duvet is a bit thin. Sometimes we were cold. The bathroom was clean, but the window in the bathroom doesn't have a room darkening shade, and the bathroom door is frosted glass, so there is a lot of light shiny through. The omelette at the breakfast restaurant was good. There is a delightful free museum of glass adjacent. Gym: had one non- working treadmill and 3 working. It has bikes and a few weights too. Water cups are plastic. This should be changed to something biodegradable Problems : There was not one day that didn't have a significant issue. The least of these was rude or incomplete service, likely based in either poor training or ignorance or both The greatest issues concerned housekeeping. A lack of TOWELS --yes, that's right--meant every day we either had to beg for towels or not shower. The shower leaked onto the floor ( door seal insufficient) so keeping a towel for more than one day wasn't an option as the puddle needed sopping up so the sink could be accessed Gregg, a manager, tried very hard to fix issues. Even with him promising, we still had issues. Because of Gregg's efforts this review is a 2 star instead of a 1 star. Look at my reviews and you will see I very rarely give low ratings Compliments to Adrienne ( front desk who was friendly and helpful with some printing jobs) and Gregg for good service

I recently stayed at the Residence Inn Norfolk Downtown and unfortunately my experience did not…read morematch the expectations I have for a Marriott property -- especially for the price I paid. At around $300 per night, I expected a much higher level of quality and comfort. When we first entered the room, there was a very strong and unpleasant odor. Maintenance had to come and spray Lysol and ZEP to try to eliminate the smell. We ended up opening the windows and the door to air the room out, which eventually helped, but that is not something guests should have to do upon arrival. There were also several maintenance and cleanliness issues in the room. The closet door would not slide properly, the carpet had visible stains, and the bed sheets had a noticeable stain and were wrinkled. The comforters also appeared worn and not very clean, and the sofa looked old and stained as well. While the kitchen area appeared to be cleaned, the rest of the room definitely needed more attention. Another inconvenience was that only one elevator was working. A gentleman who stays there often mentioned that the second elevator had reportedly been out of service for about two months. The breakfast was mediocre at best -- nothing particularly impressive. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and the lobby and hallways were nice and clean, which made the condition of the rooms even more disappointing. Overall, I expected much more from a Marriott property at this price point. The hotel has potential, but the guest rooms need significantly more attention to cleanliness, maintenance, and upkeep.

I have found something in common with the Marriot brand. When you run into issues you never get…read morethe typical how was your stay email to complete a survey. Well, there were issues on this stay. Before I go into those issues I want to thank the person at the front desk (1151PM on 17OCT25) who took time to listen and most of all took action and did not just give the standard "Oh I am going to check on it." I will get to her later. So let's break this down in bullet form of the issues. - Showed up at the hotel and not greeted as the Marriott tier guest. It might not seem much but it does come with some benefits when you reach a specific tier. Things like snacks, water, and maybe some extra points. -Air conditioner was out, and we let the front desk staff know. It was more than warm in the room. Early the next morning there was a knock at the door and it was a maintenance guy who said the HVAC was out. He was looking for a circuit breaker to get the HVAC running and this was not just a single room problem. It was not his job, but we mentioned to him that there was no microwave in the room. Yeah, the room (One Bedroom Suite, 1 Bedroom Suite, 1 King, Sofa bed) that was advertised to have a microwave in it. He said, "Bet, I am going to look for one and get one here for you." -We left a bit later from the unadvertised and unwanted sauna that was our room and told the front desk about our microwave issue and the fact that it was still very warm in the room. We also told a manager who happened to be on our floor about our issues, and she said she was going to call the maintenance guy..... Yeah the same guy who knocked before because I am sure he did not know. -Seeing how this was going we told the front desk also about the microwave and cooling problem. Hey, cast a wide net and maybe we might catch someone who will do something. -Came back from being out in town and what do you know. Still very warm and no microwave to heat up the food that we were hoping to have later on. -Once again, we were heading out for a comedy show and we disturbed the person working at the desk as he was watching his college football game to let him know that we had no microwave and the ac was not working. He said he was going to get us a microwave and that the room should start cooling down in about 30 minutes. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice ..... well I guess that's the Marriott way. Came back from the comedy show and he was watching his football games as he was before we left. We asked if he got that microwave for us and he said yes, and we were good to go. Walking into the room the reality was different. Actions speak louder than words. No microwave and still just as hot. I then go downstairs and said hey can I use your microwave as a hint, and it did not register to this guy. He takes me to the back where they do the laundry, and I use the microwave that the hotel staff uses to heat our food up. WTF! So basically, we were lied to multiple times. -I specifically asked for a room on the second floor which I did get. I got it to make sure to get a good night's sleep. It is advertised that no pets are allowed on the second floor and at times you get a dog that is excited and keeps you up. "Pets not allowed on floors2/8/9." Nothing against dogs but yes there were pets on the second floor despite saying they were not allowed on this floor. Hope no one with allergies to animals were those floors. -Now to breakfast. I understand things get busy, but you can't snap at the guests. Well, you can snap at them but not very professional. The waffle batter dispenser went empty. A family came down and was about to use it and said that it was empty. The next thing I hear is, "I know I only got two hands." They had no idea that you knew because the dispenser was empty. Old news to the kitchen staff but not for the guests. Four people knew of this and issue with one being told twice to no action at all being initiated. Oh, excuse me, no action wanting to be initiated. In a way I am glad I had this experience here. This place was on our list where I work as an option to stay at for a few conferences next year. It was on our list. So, I will say that I do thank the female who checked us out for helping us out in the end. I especially thank her for the bottled water because once again the room was hot still. We were told we would be compensated 50K points which came out to being compensated 25K I found in an email a few days later. So, the front desk lady did take off a night but overall, a majority of this could have been handled so much earlier with a bit of motivation. Look at the reviews which I should have done. The most recent reviews have all been two stars and below showing no effort is being made to improve. So to my coworkers who were coming here for a meeting you can thank me for helping you dodge this place.

Hampton Inn always has the features we like and this one in Norfolk is no exception. Upon check-in, we were given a room at the end of the hall on the 2nd floor. It turns out the hotel wasn't too full and we were upgraded to a large junior suite! Our very comfortable suite was easily 600-700 sq ft vs a regular 250-300 sq ft room and was long enough to have two windows facing the street. There is a wet bar area by the entrance with sink, refrigerator, coffee machine & microwave. Behind that was a large closet and a separate bathroom sink area outside of the shower/bathtub/toilet room. A king-size bed, 52" HDTV, desk and pull-out sleeper couch filled up the rest of the room. There are plenty of outlets & USB ports conveniently located on the desk and nightstands to charge all your phones, earpods, watches, ipads and laptops. The TV was even mounted on a swing-out mount so that you can see it properly from either the couch or in bed. The WiFi was adequate but you had to sometimes reenter your info to login. Breakfast served from 6am-10am everyday was adequate, though other Hamptons have better spreads. The one chafing tray with 3 compartments usually had scrambled eggs or omelet, sausage or bacon and home fried potatoes or biscuits and gravy. Get some toast or a bagel with fresh fruit, juice and you're all set for the day. The all-day coffee carafes are located in the lobby by the elevators though, not in the breakfast area. You can also enjoy a hot, fresh made Belgian Waffle from the DIY waffle irons, with a full size and a 4 mini iron. If you're on the run, the staff sets out quick grab-n-go breakfast sacks by the front door with bagel & spreads, fruit & yogurt. We didn't get to use the indoor pool, but we did use the gym once, even though it was small with only 3 machines. The gym opens at 6am though. For a long weekend stay, this was really nice and I would stay here again in the future.
