We were mislead through the process that they only offered private car services and not taxis. Additionally, every time we booked the car services the prices increased. I stayed at Hilton Lake Como for 2 nights for my birthday. I stayed with one other person and we had a pretty comfortable stay. We are Hilton diamond members and got upgraded Below are my pros and cons of the hotel: Pros: - Checking in and out was easy. They upgraded us but our rooms weren't ready so they held our luggages and the room was ready in about an hour. - Location is about 20 minute walk from the ferry area and about a 5 minute bus drive. - The bus stop and shop to buy a bus pass is nearby - The room was comfortable and water was stocked everyday - They did a great job of cleaning and housekeeping - We got complementary breakfast for being diamond members (and they even remembered my birthday). The breakfast spread was very good and lots of options, including items made to order. - They went above and beyond to make me feel special for my birthday (breakfast pancakes and dessert in room) - Beds were very comfortable - I was obsessed with their long custom curtains (sorry I just appreciate details) - Robes and slippers were provided - There was a mini fridge - There was a bath and shower. Bathroom was a good size. - The hotel is beautiful. The lobby area is gorgeous and sexy at night. I loved their decor and choice of lighting - Rooftop bar - Service was overall great. The concierge helped us with all our questions and made great recommendations. - Gym was cool Cons: - The bathtub leaked and the water went into our hallway - Not a fan of their small spa - The view of the city or their yard is mediocre. Very nice hotel in the Lake Como area. This hotel has a basement parking garage onsite with big enough parking spaces. Check-in was a breeze and the front desk staff was helpful with directions. The room was standard and was nice enough with wooden floors. The WiFi worked great in the room and they offer two restaurants on-site. Not much is close by except for Villa Olmo. I was initially worried that it wasn't located in the downtown area but a shortcut around the lake makes it about a 15 minute walk. I was able to walk to the docks for the express boat to Bellagio in the pouring rain. The hotel offers loaner umbrellas, if requested. The hotel has an infinity pool on the roof and also has a nice view to the lake. A solid four stars! read more

Beautiful hotel accommodations, modern and spacious rooms. Love how the room is laid out. Lots of closet and storage space allowing you to easily live here for weeks. Comfortable beds and clean showers. Best part is yes the rooftop pool but only if there's chairs available as it is pretty limited for a hotel this size. Also enjoyable is the AC and the quiet location away from the main Como area. It is only a 15 minute walk along the lake to get to where all the shops and restaurants are at. Advice: if you plan on going to the rooftop pool, go early, by 2pm all forty or so of the chairs are taken. If you can't do the pool at least grab a drink at the roof top lounge, perfect evening starter. The only bad: Only two reception kiosks for checking in and out and both times the lines were pretty long, not fun when to wait in line 30 mins to check in and then told they're running behind schedule and wait another 20 mins to get our room. The lobby area is pretty tight, I guess they expect folks to wait in the atrium but with the sun blazing in the green house it was way too hot and no one utilized the space, just opened but they clearly need a reconfiguration of their space use. read more

The Hilton Como is the best and only upper-mid range hotel option in Como! It should easily be a 5 Star. Rooms: 5/5 - all around great, clean, comfortable and quiet!! Staff/ 5/5 - friendly and helpful staff. Took really good care of us on our honeymoon! They even got us reservations on request. Even when the same restaurant said no to me! Hilton Gold: As a gold Hilton member that hotel took great care of me. Upgrades and extra special service. Location: 4/5. This is the only possibly downside for this hotel. It's about 17 -22 minutes to walk to everything in como. That being said, it was over 30 degrees on our trip and I would still say I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Pro tip: you can walk the entire trip along the water. Takes the same time and is cooler and prettier! read more

A very new Hilton property in the Lake Como (City of Como - South) area. Sparkling and clean. New just opened in Jan of 2018. Great property, with nice sized rooms and very modern. Taffeta Bar on main level for drinks and light bites. Has couches and TVs. Satin Restaurant off the main corridor is where they do breakfast buffet (very massive and amazing buffet too) and they do a dinner service also. Terrazzo 241 is located on the 6th floor by the pool deck and has drinks, dinner, dessert too. Stunning views of the south banks of Como from this terrace. The pool is up on the 6th floor and has a large hot tub, the infinity pool is nice. Not huge but it doesn't have to be. Plenty of lounge chairs and towels. There's a spa and wellness area on the first floor. Eforea Spa was very nice. A private pool with personal massager areas. A couple high pressure water jets for neck and back. A dry sauna. A steam sauna. A shower walk of colors, scents, and water jets (known in Europe as the "Emotional Shower") that is meant to relax the mind and body. Nice his and hers locker and shower areas too. Was an additional charge but when you're in Europe traveling for weeks at a time the spa is well worth the expense. We thought the staff were amazing. They were accommodating and friendly. They helped make dinner reservations off property. They helped in so many ways. We were extremely pleased with this Hilton experience and glad we left Tuscany to do 3 days in Como. Totally the right call. Stay here!! You'll love it. It is a 8-10 minute walk along the Lake to downtown Como city areas and bars, restaurants, cafes. But it's Europe you're walking a ton anyway!! Arriving in como by train with a family can be stressful, luckily the hilton arranged a ride for us to make things that much easier. Throughout our stay the service went above and beyond. From staff remembering who we were to even slipping us some drinks on the house, we felt very very special. At one point i asked for a specific cocktail to which they didn't have the specific liqueur, but the manager insisted on making me their own version of it which was great! The service here is top quality and for that it deserves a 5 star review alone. Aside from the excellent service, the hotel itself is so beautiful. The rooftop has breathtaking views of the lake and an amazing pool. The only downside for me was the location, which really isn't that bad, but being that it was our first time in lake como we found it difficult to access the rest of the lake, but I'm sure that goes for anywhere you stay. read more

I love that this hotel combines a historic silk factory with a new modern building. The location is perfect, facing the lake, with tons of light. All of the common areas are airy & open. My room was on the 4th floor & faced the lake so I"m guessing the rooms that faced the "u" shape of the hotel may not have as great a view, especially on the lower floors Optimal views are higher rooms facing the lake. Well, actually ALL rooms face the lake but there is a main section that directly faces the lake. You'll want to get a room on one of the higher floors for optimal views of the fabulous Lake Como Rooms: I had a room with a 5 piece bath - that just never ceases to make me happy. The bath tub was on point - large & deep (that sounds weird but you know what I mean) One of the things I loved was the hallway a closet, drawers & staging tables - my only suggestion would be more lighting as it was definitely dark & difficult to see in that area. The spa is divine - I had a chance to spend some time in the pool & also take advantage of the different spa showers - cool, warm, etc - all with aromatherapy. Dining - the breakfast serving was quite the affair. I'm a breakfast fiend and embrace having variety so I was a happy girl! Rooftop - - absolutely divine! Not sure how it would be if it was a busy time but the infinity edge pool, as well as the seating areas, were all fantastic. The hallways and signage can be a bit confusing with what seems to be "interlocking" hallways (you'll understand what I'm referring to if you stay there) but overall, it's a great set up. Lobby - long & narrow and during busy times I'm guessing it can get a bit crazy. Good thing the bar is nearby ;) Overall, this is a great addition to Lake Como ! read more

I just checked in today - super happy with the room and grounds so far + location is perfect, but I have to tell you all about the most bizarre experience with the hotel's extremely aggressive concierge manager named FRANCESCO. Reading through the reviews it seems like many other travelers have had issues with him as well. **You should avoid him at all costs if possible** It originated with a misunderstanding earlier in the morning after the hotel sent an email through expedia at 730am with the following quote "We are happy to organise a private transfer for your pick up from the airport. Our hotel is about 45 minutes away from Malpensa Airport. Should you need any assistance organising a private transfer to or from hotel, please do not hesitate to contact our concierge team." I got excited thinking this meant we wouldn't have to take a train to the hotel from Milan and we checked out of our hotel in the city to make our way over to the airport thinking the Hilton would arrange transportation for us from there (my mom had to go to the airport this morning anyway so it worked out). On the way to the airport, I called/emailed the hotel to confirm transport but realized after some back and forth that they couldn't actually arrange the transport for us at short notice. At which point I asked them **why they would have sent me the message this morning saying they could arrange transportation from the airport*** when in reality **they had no means of actually arranging that by the time we needed to check-in**!!! I suggested over the phone that they could reimburse me for the taxi since we wouldn't have gone to the airport if they hadnt messaged me saying they could organize transport but I don't really like drama and wasn't planning on pursuing it after this communication to fight over pennies when we've paid $500+ per night for the room, it was more about the principle. It was a short call where we agreed to disagree and after this, we made our way over to the hotel from the airport on the train. Not a huge deal, moreso just a misunderstanding/miscommunication. Once we arrived at the hotel, the girl at the check-in counter checked us in to our rooms. She was mad nice! Really good vibes, as was the rest of the staff we met apart from FRANCESCO. We were basically checked-in and I had turned around to walk to our room when the girl at the counter asked us about the misunderstanding in the morning. I explained to her that I got confused by the message in the morning and she understood right away why and said she would talk to the marketing team who sends those messages. I was ready to go to the room but then for some reason, FRANCESCO walked over and got quite aggressive with me that I had asked for the reimbursement of taxi over the phone in the morning. I explained to him literally 5 times that there was no point in them sending the message that morning offering to arrange transport when under no circumstances would they have been able to actually arrange it but that I didn't really care about the reimbursement (its literal pennies compared to the cost of the room lol). He kept continuing to argue with me and by the end was practically yelling at me that since I hadn't confirmed anything about the transfer with him that it was entirely my fault and I had no right to complain. It was a really upsetting and disrespectful interaction, I have never had an experience like this at a nice hotel before. We've stayed at hilton hotels many times in the past before and never had anything like this happen. I'm sitting in my room crying as I write this now. It is so uncomfortable to be yelled at like that by a man in front of so many people. Does he not think we are deserving of respect? Spectacular View from Rooftop Pool and Drinks Terrace This is a very nice, upper midscale Hilton. The view from the rooftop infinity pool and an adjacent terrace for drinks and light snacks is spectacular and arguably the best feature. We didn't get a room with a lake view, which is more expensive, but we felt we had the benefit of the location from the hotel roof. The room itself was modern and well appointed and the included breakfast was very good. The hotel is slightly outside the center of Como, but there is a nice walk, popular with local residents, of about 30 minutes from the hotel along the lakeshore to the town center and the dock for boat rides on Lake Como. Staff was very professional and helpful. If you arrive by car (we didn't) access and parking are very good. read more

The hotel is great, but the location isn't as good. The rooms are big even by American standards. Everything looks brand new and is in modern decor. On the roof, there's a swimming pool that's never used and lots of covered tables where you can work. The breakfast buffet has an amazing selection and I definitely recommend that you get it if you're staying here. The only downside is that it's a 15 min walk to downtown, where all of the attractions are, but you can walk along the beautiful lake so it's not that big of a deal. Although not being able to easily pop into your room when you're tired is a pain. It's next to Villa Olmo, which I think is the worst attraction in the city. Also, don't order room service. Their food is garbage. The apple pie is just a muffin (see my photo). The salad smells weird. The burger is under-cooked even when I asked for well done. They really need to invest in a better chef. Overall, if you want a high-quality hotel that's a walk from the attractions, this is it. read more

Rooftop manager in the evening is unfriendly! Causes a negative energy amongst the staff. I don't understand why it wasn't super busy. She was trying to send us away instead of offering us a seat at the bar. Frontdesk Francesco is not service oriented. Hung up the phone on me while I asked him a question. Blamed it on the phone connection bla bla... No coffee / tea during for breakfast. We had to ask at least three times. My wife had to get her own tea. Around 25 mins after we finished breakfast - no coffee! This is not the service what I expect from a Hilton. Especially not in Italy, who has breakfast without a coffee!! At least the rooms have a bidet. (I've always wanted one) and comfortable pillows. Other than that, very disappointed with this place so far. Poor value for money/points. Location is right on a busy street, so be careful crossing. They had me in the wrong type of room, quickly fixed it. Room with balcony, with shit for a view of nothing above the inner courtyard. I couldn't believe they were too cheap to have some light air conditioning in the inside of the hotel; reception, lobby area was as hot as, if not hotter than it was outside @ 83* at 4-5 pm. Left and came back at about 9:30 pm still stifling hot. Went up to rooftop bar. Decent view, but crowded with several tables marked as reserved. Went inside bar, was nice looking, bartenders acknowledged, but even with the doors open, it was like 20 degrees hotter in there. Told them sorry, it's too hot up here. Went to my room where I can hear people slamming doors and what sounds like moving furniture in the room next door. Then about an hour later, someone above me walking around their room in clunky shoes. I had a late lunch in town, so later I decided to look at the room service menu. Don't bother, it's repulsive. I'm not sure if I'm going to take a shower in with the mold or just jump in the pool instead since this is starting to feel more like a trailer park than a hip (well, wanna be) hotel. I think I got two free waters in my room, though. Being a Diamond Member sure has its privileges, doesn't it? read more

We travel quite a bit and love being in Italy. We ended up at Hilton Lake Como because we booked last minute and there was some major financial forum in the area that weekend with tons of security and all the normal suspect hotels booked! We were so pleasantly surprised about the level of care and service by the hotel team as well as at the beautiful rooftop restaurant Terrazza 241. The drinks and food were world class --even by other fine dining we did in the region. We ended up having an extra meal there because it was so good. The views are excellent overlooking the lake and the location is very convenient from downtown Como as well as train station. It is the newest hotel and most modern design in the region--beautiful but not your historic building. We would absolutely consider staying there again on our next trip to Como. read more

As of this review, the hotel's only been open for 12 days and it smells like it, with the vague residue of fresh paint wafting through the air...but that's a good thing, because this hotel's a fucking gem. Great lobby area, spacious and modern guest rooms and a street away from Villa Olmo and a 15 minute stroll by the lakefront to the city/town center makes this hotel an American's dream come true for lodging in Como. We stayed at the Hilton Lake Como during our recent visit to Como at the start of the month. As we were driving into town from elsewhere, it is easily accessible and quite close to the highway, and with a large space in the front, as well as a parking garage that is under-utilized underground (there was always plenty of space), it made it quite simple to go in and out of the hotel. The staff is plentiful and generally pretty proficient in English, so interacting with folks at the front desk or at other spots (such as the lobby bar or the rooftop restaurant) were pretty straightforward. The finishes here are quite new, and so despite being in a town rich in history, you very much feel like you are in a modern, cosmopolitan setting. The facilities are solid, with the rooftop infinity pool with a view of the lake being a highlight for sure. The fitness center, while open 24/7, is a bit more limited though - it's relatively small and does not have as wide an array of machines as I would have hoped for. Accessibility is reasonable; with the hotel laid out in a rectangular shape, there are multiple elevators to take that will put you closer to your room. As for the rooms themselves, the finishes are quite nice, but as with pretty much any new big-chain hotel these days, it feels a bit cheaply-done. The walls are thin, and if you look closely enough, you can tell that some of the closet and bathroom doors are made of slightly flimsier, Ikea-like material. In our superior king room, we were a little pressed for space given that we had 3 suitcases with us, but the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was nice (I liked that there were doors separating the toilet and shower from the sink and bath). The courtyard view, sadly, doesn't offer much, particularly since you will be looking right across into other people's rooms...so the curtains remained closed almost the entire time we were there. Overall, I would not mind staying here again, particularly as it's accessible for tourists such as myself. However, it is a little out of the way from the heart of Como (about 3/4 of a mile from downtown), and I did feel that at the high price point this came at, I felt that the premium wasn't fully justified for what is the mid-level Hilton brand. I'd rate the hotel 3.5 stars, but I would also round down because of paying a luxury price for what falls short of a true luxury experience. read more

My girlfriend and I had arrived to Hilton Lake Como after a very uncomfortable 6 hour train ride with no sleep the previous night- we were warmly welcomed by the front desk who were professional, kind, and very accommodating. The hotel is gorgeous. Our room was stunning- extremely clean, with a beautiful view. We were starving- so we went down to the lobby bar where Uriel made us the finest drinks, and served us wonderful burgers (the potato wedges were amazing.) He did all he could to make us feel comfortable and welcome. His colleague, Davide, was very helpful too. The service here was phenomenal, 10/10 would recommend for anyone to experience this hotel. read more

We loved our stay at the Hilton Lake Como. Any hotel putting up with our crazy party of 12 gets a prize! They arranged taxi service for us from the train station with all our luggage which was great because definitely not within walking distance. They upgraded us once we arrived as well which was also very appreciated. Francesco the manager was so nice and great with my kids. He gave my 3 year old a little gift when he was getting a little crazy at check in. The jet lag was real. He made it a point to talk to us anytime we ran into him. There were multiple staff members like Matteo, Arina, and a few others(I forget their names) helped to make our stay a success. Everyone single person who worked the morning buffet at Satin was fabulous as well. Speaking of the food it was really really good! Highly recommend the pasta with ragu sauce! Amazing! There were two things that I didn't love. We arrived at a weird time where only the bar off the lobby and the restaurant upstairs was serving food. We tried to go upstairs to eat and even though the entire restaurant was empty they told us there was nothing they could do for is. They were all really rude. It wasn't the greatest impression after just checking in. That was a one and done try for us. We we're so turned off by how we were treated we weren't even going to try and go back despite the amazinggggg views! Ugh! The only other downfall was the walk to town. It's a pretty far walk.
