I purchased a used vehicle from them and brought it to another province that required an out of province inspection. I brought it to a dodge dealer here and found out that it required $1500.00 worth of repairs that were noted as being in good condition from Vernon Dodge report of the vehicle condition. When I contacted them about this, they pretty much gave me the cold shoulder and told me that there report is accurate and that my shop is the rip off. Once your money is in their bank you will be out of luck for any issues from information that is not accurate, supplied to you from them.

My A/C compressor needed to be replaced, phoned to book an appt. on a Wednesday, got one for Monday. They phoned back to ask me to call in on Monday morning to make sure the part came in. It hadn't, Tuscan the service guy, said he could get an after market one but it cost double the price (over $800). I said no I'd wait to get the Toyota part and booked an appt. for Friday ( going through that 40+ week with no A/C). I show up on Friday at 9am, I specifically asked the woman in the service bay if my part came in. She phoned someone and assured me it had. I told her I would need my vehicle back by 2:30 as I had an appt. in Enderby at 3. She said the job would take 4 hours so I felt comfortable time wouldn't be an issue. At 11 she called to say she'd been dealing with my extended warranty insurance and because they didn't have the Toyota part and were going to use the after market one for double the price, the warranty company hadn't approved the cost yet. I panicked, they hadn't even started the job and I was under time constraints and told her to go ahead with the work (Big mistake). She called back a couple hours later to say the insurance company would only cover for the cost of the Toyota part and the truck should be ready by 2. That time came and went, I ended up changing my appt. in Enderby; at 3:10, I phoned to see when it would be ready. Turns out it was ready at 2 but no one bothered to let me know. When I said I was waiting for a phone call the woman got snippy with me and said she'd told me it would be ready at 2. She had said "it should be ready at 2" , to me that implies it may not be and I assumed they would let me know when it was. When I went to pay my now huge bill, I expressed that I wasn't happy with what happened. The young guy wouldn't even look at me and acted like he hadn't heard a word I said. I was really upset with the whole experience but had to get going because of my appt. After thinking about it all weekend, I sent an email to Vernon Toyota saying I felt taken advantage of, and that it felt like a bait and switch situation. I said I would give them an opportunity to rectify the situation before posting negative reviews on- line, got no response what-so-ever. I talk to a lot of people in the course of my work and have now been told that people will drive to Kelowna or Salmon Arm Toyota for repairs and won't ever deal with Vernon. They've definitely lost my business and anyone else I talk to will know their poor business practices. My advice is STAY AWAY and go elsewhere.

Bannister Honda scammed me out of a rear brake job they never did and charged me for it back in…read moreApril 2023. In Nov of this year I have a noise in the rear brakes and I took it into them. They stated I needed a rear brake job at the pads were down to the wear bars (3%). They told me the rear where at 3%, and the front where at 80%. They had replaced the front and back in April of 2023. It went in for a front brake job but I was told the rear should also be replaced. Between April 2023 and Nov 2025 the mileage put on was approx.30,000 kms or 18,000 miles. They couldn't explain why the front had 80% left and the rear has only 3% left. (Front brakes normally wear quicker than rear brakes). They came up with all kinds of excuses which didn't make any sense as to why the rear pads would go from 100% to 3% in 30,000 kms. When they replaced the rotors and pads nothing else was found wrong with the rear braking system. Their final excuse was because I didn't have the brakes in for a regular serving during those 30,000 kms they wouldn't reimburse me for the brake job. Both the service manager (Paul) and the assistant manager (Jack) shouldn't be in their position in this business. Very unsatisfied X customer.
