Recently bought a Rad e-bike that had a factory defect (bent front disc rotor), so I called them…read moreand they hooked me up with this company, which I had only heard of through Facebook bike groups but never used before. Guy who came out was actually 30 minutes early, and got the job done well within the allotted hour. He was knowledgeable, professional and pleasant. I loved not having to go through the whole bike shop rigamarole (transporting the bike there and back, waiting in line, geeky mechanics with attitude, pushy salespeople, upselling/overcharging, etc.) Best of all, you get to WATCH and SEE exactly what they're doing and how they're doing it! Some shops will make you wait in another room, claiming "insurance liability" reason, just like auto repair places. Pricing is done by the hour so you have a pretty clear idea of how much you'll be paying from the outset. Long story short: I don't see myself going back to a regular bike shop again, as long as this company is still around. Only small quibble is that they were booked up for a full 2 weeks when I first checked on the website (pretty well designed and easy to use website), so this is not an option for an emergency repair. OTOH, that full schedule indicates that there is a high demand for their services, which can only be a good sign in my book.

I first saw a Velofix van at a neighbor's house over the summer and stopped to ask some questions…read more It sounded like a great idea, so I took a business card and waited until my bike needed its Fall tune-up before trying to book an appointment. I tried twice to book an appointment via their web site (once from home and once from my office) but was unable to complete the scheduling process when their servers kept timing out. After the second attempt, I called their toll-free number and scheduled an appointment for 1:00pm yesterday (Sunday, 9/30/18). Oh, and I also received a confirmation email confirming the appointment.... Come Sunday, after declining invitations from friends to go out and watch both the Patriots and the Red Sox games and setting aside an hour and a half of my day, I sat around waiting for them to arrive. By 1:30 I called to ask if they were still coming and how long the delay would be. I spoke with Guenther and he said I wasn't on his schedule at all, so actually no one was coming to my house! I wasted a day for nothing and still have a bike that desperately needs a tune-up. So despite the obvious convenience it would be for me to have someone come and service my bike at my house, it means nothing if they don't actually show up! Both my first and second impressions of this business have been bad, so I do NOT recommend them to anyone contemplating giving them a try. I've already told my other biker friends about my experience and they agree with me - go to your local bike shop instead.
