We were located on the first floor about halfway down the hallway from the lobby. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything in the next rooms. Our neighbors were up at 4:30 being very loud and in the hallway several times slamming their room door each time so we were not able to get much rest due to no sound barrier. The beds were comfy but I don't believe they wash all the bedding between guests. My bed had a large brown stain on the mattress protector you could see on the side of the bed when you pulled back the covers, and my pillows all had leftover hair from someone else. The brown cover on the bed also had something dirty on it. I was surprised they offer breakfast with the stay since the nightly rate is very fair priced. Breakfast was pretty good.

It's a pet-friendly hotel so the room probably had animals staying there and it wasn't cleaned. The bed was sloppily made. We asked for a different room. They claimed not to have any. We left and went to another hotel. I have stayed at other Comfort Inns and they were fine. Avoid this one at all costs.

The front desk clerk was very friendly and there were Otis Spunkmeyer cookies available. Our room was on the 2nd floor. The hotel seemed a little old, but it was clean and functional. After dinner at the Cracker Barrel next door, we went down to the pool. I enjoyed the hot tub. There were a couple of jets that did not seem to be working, but since no one else was around I was able to sit by the working jets. The pool area was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The pillows are on the soft side, but they give you 4 or 5 per bed. The TV and other room amenities were fine. Breakfast was the most varied I have ever seen. The juice dispenser had cranberry, apple, and orange. There were oatmeal packets and a toppings bar. The bread station had both wheat and white bread, bagels, english muffins and biscuits, as well as sweet muffins and cinnamon rolls. The hot station had country gravy, bacon, Canadian bacon, sausage links, and sausage patties, eggs both scrambled and fried as well as home fries. There was also a waffle station. In the fridge were hard boiled eggs, cream cheese, butter, and two brands of yogurt. There was also whole fruit. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and welcoming. We would stay there again.

It is one of those odd things that you can have an experience earlier in the course of a week long…read moreroad trip that makes you appreciate the little things somewhere else along the way. That is definetley the case with this location of IHG properties. This chain is consistenly solid over the years so I wasn't expecting anything less than what we had. They in the midst of a renovation, but around a bit of dust here, anda paint splash there, it was still clean (much cleaner than a previous place in Wilmington). The staffer that checked us in was pleasant and efficient. Our beds were comfortable, lots of pillows. We had a little problem with the shower the first night (operator error, or rather we didn't know the trick for a janky tub/shower valve). We called and they sent someone within about 5 minutes. [It was one of the maids that had experience with our room, a sweet soul, very pleasant...I do have to ask though, how many tattoos are too many tattoos]. The breakfast was pretty well put out, two hot protiens each day, eggs, potato options, oatmeal, cereal, pancake machine, etc. Even the most finicky kid would not walk away hungry unless they wanted to, for whatever reason it is that finicky kids do things. The hot tub worked, good temperature, pool was nice, neither had too much chlorine. While you didn't have to walk through the lobby (like some hotels- why designers, why?) there was a giant window from the front lobby/breakfast area to the pool area. My wife was a bit off put by that. I guess you would feel a bit like a fish in the aquarium if someone was there looking in. Definiteley a good stay, nothing is cheap anymore, so $346 for two nights in a non capitol city in Ohio might feel steep, but hey that's what the market will bear, so all good that's good. We would come back if in the area.

Wow, what a facility! Indoor hot tub, outdoor hot tub, indoor/outdoor pool, men's steam room, women's steam room, rain forest simulation chamber, kids play fountain/kinetic sculpture. The shallow end of the pool has a curtain of water that falls from the ceiling and various fountains/massage jets. For two guys on a multiweek construction project out of town, the aquatic center at Hampton Inn Wheeling was the best surprise either of us can remember lately. HIW had more to offer though. There was a shuttle service that took us to supper, brought us back when we called (and they showed up in about 7 minutes) later, we took the shuttle to the casino We both somehow beat the house for some decent loot. And we taken back to the hotel by the shuttle at two am Both drivers were exceptionally gracious and polite. This unassuming looking hotel hides spectacular accommodations and flawless hospitality. Apparently it actually is because there was a poster near the elevators that indicated that Hampton inn was voted the best in the world. It also won like a best hotel in West Virginia award also. Who knew? Right off the highway, restaurants literally basically just off the edge of the property including, and I would like to highlight, TACO BELL. Room was decently sized, about average. Beds were comfortable. TV was smaller than I have expected recently and I don't recall them having the option of connecting Netflix or any other streaming services which is nice, relying on what is on cable at that particular moment is a drag and I don't know how we did it for so long. Towels were plentiful. Shower was nice. Multiple mirrors arranged in just a way that your partner can watch you on the toilet from the bed if you leave the door open, as we discovered. I'll spare you the photos that were taken. Not a bad choice.

There is always coffee available in the lobby. There is always a staff member available at the front desk. This is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. It is professionally maintained with everything in working order, e.g. the ice machines & AC/heaters, fridge, & microwave in the rooms have always worked perfectly. I travel here to visit a friend & will sometimes just stay an extra night to unwind because it is so comfortable & pleasant here. There are also very nice areas to walk your dog! There's a little picnic area with a propane BBQ grill too! I just noticed this as I was leaving on my last visit. I know I'm writing a book here but I have to mention the staff, they are the most professional, hard working, friendly, & nice hotel employees I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. From the front desk to house keeping, they are ALL EXCEPTIONAL! Thank you for genuinely caring about your guests!
