When I checked in, the guy asked me if I had ever been there before. I responded, "not to this…read morelocation". He said, "oh! Well, welcome to the best one". Lmao. Apparently it actually is because there was a poster near the elevators that indicated that Hampton inn was voted the best in the world. It also won like a best hotel in West Virginia award also. Who knew? Right off the highway, restaurants literally basically just off the edge of the property including, and I would like to highlight, TACO BELL. Room was decently sized, about average. Beds were comfortable. TV was smaller than I have expected recently and I don't recall them having the option of connecting Netflix or any other streaming services which is nice, relying on what is on cable at that particular moment is a drag and I don't know how we did it for so long. Towels were plentiful. Shower was nice. Multiple mirrors arranged in just a way that your partner can watch you on the toilet from the bed if you leave the door open, as we discovered. I'll spare you the photos that were taken. Not a bad choice.

The staff is always super friendly and goes above and beyond. I can't speak on how great they are to me and my pup! This time I got there and other people's stuff was still in the room. I called down and they immediately took action to correct it and got me a new room. I honestly can't say enough about this hotel. I stay there every time I'm there-- they have snacks (you pay for) and everything that you could want when you go back. The hotel is also within a mile drive of a Sheetz if you want selections! The main thing is that the hotel has a shuttle to help get you around if you are doing things that involve drinking so you don't have to drive since Uber is not a prominent staple in this area.

This has been a positive experience here in Zanesville, OH…read more The staff is friendly and helpful. They have made my visit for the pottery show very pleasant. I am looking forward to coming back next year.

It is one of those odd things that you can have an experience earlier in the course of a week long…read moreroad trip that makes you appreciate the little things somewhere else along the way. That is definetley the case with this location of IHG properties. This chain is consistenly solid over the years so I wasn't expecting anything less than what we had. They in the midst of a renovation, but around a bit of dust here, anda paint splash there, it was still clean (much cleaner than a previous place in Wilmington). The staffer that checked us in was pleasant and efficient. Our beds were comfortable, lots of pillows. We had a little problem with the shower the first night (operator error, or rather we didn't know the trick for a janky tub/shower valve). We called and they sent someone within about 5 minutes. [It was one of the maids that had experience with our room, a sweet soul, very pleasant...I do have to ask though, how many tattoos are too many tattoos]. The breakfast was pretty well put out, two hot protiens each day, eggs, potato options, oatmeal, cereal, pancake machine, etc. Even the most finicky kid would not walk away hungry unless they wanted to, for whatever reason it is that finicky kids do things. The hot tub worked, good temperature, pool was nice, neither had too much chlorine. While you didn't have to walk through the lobby (like some hotels- why designers, why?) there was a giant window from the front lobby/breakfast area to the pool area. My wife was a bit off put by that. I guess you would feel a bit like a fish in the aquarium if someone was there looking in. Definiteley a good stay, nothing is cheap anymore, so $346 for two nights in a non capitol city in Ohio might feel steep, but hey that's what the market will bear, so all good that's good. We would come back if in the area.

The hotel is old and historic and does have cool old decor and a fun haunted feel. Walkable to plenty of other places. Restaurant Fantastic service. They have indoor and outdoor patio seating. The outside area had live music which sounded good but we opted to eat inside. The food was actually really good. Speakeasy Fun vibe with great bartenders. They have TV's in there to watch the game, a decent size bar and plenty of other space and seating areas. Nice spot for a drink or two.

The hotel is magnificently decorated! the high ceilings and old style check in desk. The clerk on duty was so sweet and informative and helpful. Our room was fabulous. As was the walk to it. through the halls with the dark mahogany doors decorated with wreaths for Christmas. Both beds were meticulously made up and the mattress was so comfortable. I didn't feel like I was at a hotel. The bathroom has a very nicel tile shower and plenty of hot water that you can fine tune hotter if you wish! The room was very clean! The linens on the bed were very crisp and comfy! Let's talk about the restaurant and food! 10 stars! They made a fresh pot of decaf for me! It was delicious! The food is wonderful. I did not do breakfast but my daughter did and said everything was perfect! We did do dinner and our server, Scott...I think that was his name made the dining and experience and added to the ambiance! There were 3 of us. We all had the She crab soup...it was piping hot and very good and creeamy! We each ordered a different item for our dinner. I had the appetizer of Wagyu beef and mushrooms on crostini. It was absolutely delicious and had a fine taste that lingered. I only wished it had a little more meat and mushrooms. My daughter had the beet salad and was very pleased. She added salmon on it and again was very pleased with its preparation. My son had the Shrimp and Grits that were prepared as he liked. it was a very generous portion and was also piping g hot. While we didn't do dessert we did see the lemon meringue pie and it was beautiful with meringue piled high! I must add there was a musician that played clarinet and also piano...wow...just like in the movies! loved it! We ventured down to the 1889 Lounge and speakeasy. unique phone to call in and get a code to enter the room which was dimly lit and had shelves of spirits. The bartender was very engaged with every patron! the decor was very old times and someone was even playing the upright piano! The Christmas Tree Festival was an added bonus to see. What unique trees! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We hope to return to visit again. we were on a visit for catching up with friends from 40 years ago! The city has changed so much!
