I have been in and out of a great deal of dental offices throughout my life. Even as a toddler, I have had plenty of work done in my mouth - false teeth, several root canals, fillings and crowns, and all of the above. I have lived in several states, so I have been to various dentists throughout the country. Dr. Vyas is one of the kindest hearted individuals I have had the pleasure of meeting. I have been her patient for almost 1.5 years now, and once you go to Dr. Vyas's office, you won't ever have to "dread going to the dentist" again. She is personable, always willing to strike up a conversation, and certainly understanding of everyone's unique dental situations. Dr. Vyas is open and honest, and when it comes to pricing, she is one the most affordable options there is. Yet, she is one of the best dental care providers in the entire Bay Area (or anywhere, for that matter). I have never had a dentist personally contact me after any appointment before. Well well well, Dr Vaya did it again. She noticed that I could possibly have a leak or small issue with a crown from another dentist and when she removed it and showed me what was happening under the crown I was shocked. Just because you don't feel a problem doesn't mean there isn't one. She probably saved me from eventually getting a root canal! You are the best. And the new crown fits perfectly. Was recommended by orthodontist to get extractions done here for my braces. Made my appointment over the phone, the staff here is extremely helpful and nice. They were able to pull up insurance information ahead of time for a quick check in and registration. Note: I had minor panic attack during the numbing-injections. They're thorough in their checks (gums health, cancer screening, cavities), very considerate of your comfort during cleaning, and incredibly polite. My PPO insurance covers 100% of the cleaning with no copay, so I'm guessing their pricing is pretty standard. For your first time, they do let you know of all the possible things that can benefit your teeth (braces, wisdom teeth removal, etc) but I don't think they were pushy. read more

I have been here only once and will never go again. The doctor herself is nice but I went there just for a cleaning and she applied fluoride varnish on my teeth without my knowledge. I got to know this after getting a bill today. But the weirdest thing of all was when I was about to leave, the assistant Evie gave me a bill for filling four cavities. I didn't understand at first what she wanted me to do with it, but then she said I needed to pay for the fillings now, even though they were not done today. I had not even set an appointment to come in for the fillings yet. I clearly said No, since they hadn't done the filling that day. Then she started saying it's our office policy and started negotiating with me the amount I should pay for the fillings. When they realized I wasn't going to pay a single penny, they just forced me to schedule a future appointment. What kind of clinic/ hospital charges a patient now for a future work that they haven't even scheduled an appointment for yet? And I am not talking about a reservation fee or some small amount. This was the full amount of filling for all cavities. Never going here again! read more

I've been to quite a few dentists in the area and Dr. Vyas is by far the best! She and her dental hygienist Evie are very personable and caring. I got a few cavities filled a couple weeks ago and she really took the time to make sure it was done right and that I was doing okay during the procedure. I've had other dentists do a half-assed job very quickly and then send you on your way. Dr. Vyas even followed up with me to make sure I wasn't experiencing any pain or discomfort. This dentist is not honest due to getting work done and telling her I wanted to know exactly what I was being billed for. The printer conveniently wasn't working then after me moving back to Utah a bill came up for 900.00 at the time I called the doctor and due to me exercising my right on Yelp, she advised me the bill and miscommunication we were both equally at fault, and if I was to take the negative comment off Yelp we would split the difference. I received a bill for 436.00 and then her office turned around and sent me to collections. Word to the wise: don't go here, unless you want to get ripped off ! read more

I wish I had known about Dr. Ridder before I decided to come get a cleaning service from here because then I would have saved myself from the pain. First off, I had missed my 6 month check up and needed to schedule one in ASAP. I also had recently moved and needed to find another dentist closer. I randomly picked her off the list from my insurance. The cleaning procedure wasn't top notch. I am impressed with their x-ray machine; as it is able to show the x-ray instantly on the laptop. She then gives me a list of over 10 cavities! What!? Are you kidding me? I haven't had cavities in almost 2 years and then all of the sudden I have 10!? You've got to be kidding. Apparently, her style of dentistry is "preventative." I think it's let me squeeze as much insurance money out of you as I can style. Secondly, she's not careful when dealing with patients. She tugs and moves my head quickly to get the angle she needs. I've never been treated like that by any of my previous dentists before. read more

UPDATE 9/4/17: Dr Vyas, the new dentist for this establishment reached out to let me know that she has taken over as the main dentist of this facility. I truly appreciated her reaching out to offer another chance with Hills Dental. I have since moved so a revisit is not practical, but it's rare to find people with such attention to detail and wanting to rectify past situations that had nothing to do with them. I would like to reiterate from my initial review that there was nothing wrong with the staff and facility, it was just the crazy Dr. Ridder that prompted me to write such a negative rant. A quick Google search seems to suggest that she is not practicing anymore, which is in everyone's best interest. If I lived closer I would give Hills Dental another chance, as I wish more doctors were so attentive to providing the best care and service to their patients. Bought Groupon teeth whitening package and decided to come here for the procedure since its close to my work. My experience cannot be more perfect. No wait. A simple signature. No long forms no teeth check cross sells. After a few explanations, procedure began. "evi", not exactly sure that's her name, did the whole thing smoothly and painlessly. The result was great too. I had teeth whitening gel before, which hurt bad and still barely saw any results. My teeth are on the sensitive side, but didn't feel any pain, or even discomfort, through out the procedure. Result is actually quite dramatic. Really happy with the experience. I did spend money and bought the blue gel thing at the end since I can't afford not having colored food and drinks (have plan to travel the same day) for 24hours. No pressure from the staff, really my own choice and needs. Small cost anyways, considering the great result I am getting. I might think of changing dentist to this place. Barely got the chance to talk to the dentist but she seems nice. Tough perhaps (I tried to negotiate on blue gel price) but nice regardless, lol read more
