you ever want to retrieve your families remains, don't bother coming here, they will lose your family members and then blame it on "the earth claiming them" There are other reports of this cemetery placing bodies in the wrong plots. When my grandmother passed away, the staff made it painless and the process was very smooth. They keep the area clean and the grass is always treated. I know that my grandmother is buried in a proper/peaceful place. read more

I gave this review one star because I can't give it anything less. I am still dealing with issues and overcharges in the sum of $5000 plus as well as almost placing my mother in the wrong plot if my father had not gone to the site the day before. The sales team comprised of Brittany and Bill , and then general manager Clifton will lie to you, tell you that they do not have the answers to any of your financial questions, or it's above their pay grade and then when pressed for a contact number to obtain this information, they will ignore you or give you a fake number to the corporate office or say they do not have this information. If you plan to do business with Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery make sure you ask for anyone else than those names above. Make sure to ask for an itemized contract and have them go over each charge and do your due diligence and make sure what they are telling you is actually the correct information. When I asked about a charge, they lied about what it actually was and they tried to double charge our family on three different items on our contract. The lack of communication, professionalism and the blatant lies made me pursue their corporate office and get to the bottom of things. Thankfully, I was able to speak with someone in the corporate office who assured me that these issues will be corrected and the overcharges will be refunded. If I did not know what questions to ask or to continually contact executives at the corporate office to help handle this matter, I believe my grieving father and family would have been taken advantaged of financially and our mother would not have been buried in the correct place with her headstone marker as well as a prepaid lot and marker for my father, when he passes. Not very pleased with the "Perpetual Care" promised when we decided to purchase 6 plots here. My son and my Grandparents are buried here, I came back into town to clean up the grass around the markers. read more

My cousin passed away in January 2017 and its June 2017 and she still has no name plaque on the wall. Also they had another body in the spot that my cousin was supposed to go into. Everything was paid in full and the spot was paid for over 20 years ago and 6 months later they still keep giving my family the run around. Also my mom paid for her spot over 20 years ago and when she brought her paperwork in to make sure everything was correct it was not. They had the incorrect lot numbers on there paperwork and told my mom that hers was wrong!!! Makes me wonder how my people have been moved out of there graves and how many people have been screwed over. read more

Want a used-car-shady-sales experience for your loved ones who have passed? Then have them interned at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery in Augusta, GA. My father was KIA in 1967 in Vietnam and was laid to rest at Hillcrest. My mother passed from cancer in 2006 and was laid next to my father. My stepfather passed away in June and was laid to rest next to her. He was an Army Veteran and received a military honors burial. The cemetery was paid over $1,600 for internment and then we received a bill for the headstone that was fraught with with additional charges, but the marker, as a veteran is paid for by the VA. Because the bill had so many charges, I asked to see a contract for the four plots we have there, as well, as itemized billing for the loved ones interned thus far. It has been six months, and I still have not received these documents after multiple requests and our loved one, a veteran lays in wait for a headstone and marker. Sad. Additionally, the cemetery is in horrendous condition. I wonder if the families of the loved ones buried there appreciate the eyesore when visiting grave sites. We have tried to sell our last plot to no avail. No surprise there. I would not recommend this option for anyone...terrible service, complacent attitude, truly a travesty as these folks are charged with ensuring the final resting place is pleasant, respectful and maintained. read more

Do not have any dealings with this business if you can avoid it. My parents buried their infant daughter there in 1955. In early 2014 or late 2013 a new irrigation system was installed and the heavy machinery was driven over the flat tombstone. It broke the concrete base supporting the bronze plaque and also broke the concrete holding the attached vase. Office staff promised on February 10, 2014 to repair and replace entire unit if my parents paid for replacement granite. My parents paid for replacement granite. On December 5, 2014 the plaque was not attached at all to the base. By January 21, 2016, everything was gone from the grave site. All that was there is a hole. Despite repeated visits to the office and repeated assurances from the staff that everything would be repaired and replaced "within two weeks", absolutely nothing has been done. We were at Hillcrest an hour ago and there is still nothing there but a hole. We are planning to pursue this matter with the regulating agency since after two years there has been no satisfactory resolution to what is a relatively simple matter.
