There is a little dog, jumping up and down the tables, not what someone in pain wants to deal with. The therapist doesn't give you a plan of treatment, makes you fill out a survey on her and the location while she looks over your shoulder and your done. That is the complete evaluation that they charge you $200 for. I went elsewhere. If the first visit was that bad, what is your treatment going to be like? I would have given them 1 star but the location was new and clean.

The billing department used by this healthcare operation acknowledges the office staff, Robin, overcharged my copay by more than double, after insurance processing, but they will not refund my over-payment after multiple calls. I've called and asked to talk to the provider, Dr. Dorea Wilder, but get no response from her. I'm rather surprised and disappointed by this poor customer service. I won't be returning for care and wouldn't recommend to anyone, unfortunately.

The Nurses have been patient with my calls asking them to walk to sisters room because she is unable to answer her cell phone in her condition. Adam the manager is friendly and runs a good ship.

He had no problem with the other residents, but the house techs/managers, whatever they're called, were another story. First of all, my son has serious mental illness and alcoholism. He really wanted to get sober and because RU has a focus on music, we felt it would be a good fit for him. He is a talented guitar player and has been trying to find his place in the world of music. He was happy to have a place to go and participate in a PHP. Then, the first incident. They lost a psych med that had just been filled for him. So he went without his medication for most of the day. When he got upset about it, they told him he needed to learn to "live life on life's terms". Really? That's what you say to someone who is struggling to stay sober and needs those meds to function on a basic level? They did finally manage to get half a prescription filled that they paid for, then told him that his mother would have to pay for the other half. Uh...no. You lost them, you buy them. This was the first call I made. I spoke with a house manager, who yes ma'amed me to death. He assured me they would be giving him his meds. He finally got them that evening. I did get to speak with a nurse who assured me that I would not be required to pay for any of the lost medication. Each day brought something new. He went to get his meds and the person passing them told him that his long hair made him "look gay". Not huge - but inappropriate. He and several other housemates were ill and taken to urgent care. He was diagnosed with flu and the doctor sent a prescription for Tamiflu. They did not pick up the prescription. So, he stayed sick. The doctor told him not to go to programming if he had a fever. He woke up the day after with a fever and told the house manager that he wasn't going to programming. He was then kicked out of the program. No place to go. No money. Sick with the flu. He called me, completely distraught. I was at work and I had to take time out of my day to call the clinical manager (Douglas). I was enraged. He listened to my ranting, and informed me that my son was "toxic to the household", and was threatening the staff, or cursing them out. I told him exactly what had been going on, and that my son did not want to go. To his credit, he did go speak with my son and apologized when he found out what had been happening. However, at that point, the damage had been done. I have never, ever heard my son so down and depressed. He felt that he had no one there to talk to. He ended up leaving the next day and stayed at an airbnb for a few days. He was to the point of talking about suicide. I am happy that he instead connected with sober friends and is moving into a sober living house. I do not recommend Recovery Unplugged. We had such hope and this was a huge letdown. Counselor Tracy was wonderful, and he did like his case manager as well, but he PHP house needs a major staff overhaul. People who are trying to recover need a supportive environment with people who have clinical expertise. I know he was not the only one who had this type of experience.

I have been stuggling with this…read moreproblem since 2016 and Recovery Unplugged in Florida and Annandale Virginia have helped me process so many challenges and traumatic events. I made the mistake to not read any reviews and trusted the recomendations thinking I was going to get the help and care that Recovery Unplugged has always provided me with. Turns out my therapist was not a Pshycologist and they were dragging me along. They DO NOT facilitate in house H & I meetings and only take clients to 2/3 meetings a week. The house is packed with 18 guys and filled with flies, there are times where there is no food or drinks and you have to wait 24 hours or eat whatever is left on the pantry. You are only there to be passed around and be separated from your old lifestyle. The groups are repetitive clients fall asleep because they can't engage or motivate them. They advertise YOGA and GYM and this means a garage with one yoga mat and a 3 pieces of worn out equipment. They only have one technician for 18 clients. This person disclosed that she loves working there but they are always undertaff and to quote them "betwen us they can't retain anyone because the pay is way low" On my last morning a pipe broke and we had brown (feces/urine) water draining on top of the kitchen cabinets and stove. I had to leave because I was getting ill. The moment I sign the farewell papers the receptionist came running she said I was trespassing, called the cops and threaten me. They discharge me without meds and had me wait outside. Then she came back and said that they were making an exception and getting my meds. Once she gave them to me she yelled "Now leave my property, you are trespasing", the level of humiliation motivated me to write this and hoping that nobody goes through this experience. This was not the Recovery Unppluged a lot of us have the pleasure of knowing! Anyone that goes to the Florida Location and knows the prestigious name Richie Suppa will understand that this is not the standard of care you receive when trusting the Clinicians at Recovery Unplugged. In Florida both PHP and Residential staff actually care about you. They will motivate you and help you find a sponsor. They will take you to meetings and provide groups that challenge your spirit. Therapist and staff in FLL like Ana, Danny, or Brittanie in Virgnia have changed my life for the better. What happened in Austin was a misrepresentation of a place I Appreciate. Iddle time did nothing good for me other than wan't to truly do the work and never be scammed again.

During the first few week of Jan 2024, Kobe had been neglected By not being fed, Showered or being changed. The first incident of him not being fed, I asked the nurse and his technician, their response was they thought the night shift fed him. I made a report with the front desk who at the time was Miss Betty. She went on to tell me that this type of behavior was not tolerated. She asked me to fill out an incident report which I did, It was never addressed. Upon my grandson telling me he was being mistreated, I decided to stay Monday through Thursday his case manager Stephanie Carpenter knew of all the things my grandson was going through because I let it be known not only to Mrs. Carpenter but to the nurse manager Chris. Chris assured me that everything would be OK Well it was not Again I stayed Monday through Thursday because no technician was going into the room to check on my grandson nor to change him. I literally would sit back and wait to see how long it would take for someone to come rarely did anyone. I did I talked to the nurse manager Chris and I asked ,"are your technicians under the impression that because I'm in the room they don't have to come in and tend to him?" She responded, "Did you talk to them and ask them why? First of all it is not my job to tell your technicians what they're supposed to do My grandson had lost weight so mid January of 2024 they administered a picc line to feed him on his left arm. not knowing at the time they did not use sterile procedure .Fast forward he went from thriving to not being able to move, talk, open his mouth and unable to do any type of therapy w/Jessica Kristen and his speech therapist. made reference to they have no idea what happened to him as he was thriving His doctor did nothing to figure out what was going on other then to titrate his medications she either went up on milligrams or went down on milligrams but never did any blood work to figure out what was going on Weeks would go on and declined one particular night a tech came in James and he cussed out my grandson not caring that I was in the room we had words and I told Priscilla who was the night charge nurse he was not to come back to his room When I told Miss Carpenter she asked me to fill out an incident report and verbatim say what happened between James and i did on February 16th due to his decline and lack of care his nurse and his technician at that night Roxanne I Requested my grandson be discharged I had walked in on the nurse force feeding my grandson when I asked what she was doing she said I have to give him his meds and he wanted chocolate pudding I said to her how in the hell does he want chocolate pudding when he can't even eat she said he requested chocolate pudding my grandson only likes vanilla I asked them both to leave the room When James cussed us out and I did the incident report nothing was done Nurse manager Chris told me she could not get rid of him because she had to investigate that was never done upon discharging my grandson February 16th 2024 he would end up at the hospital in San Antonio at university after running test it's documented that he Had contracted gram positive and was sepsis The doctor went on to not only verbalize but to put in the report He got the infection via the PICC line administered at Texas Neural Rehabilitation Center I later called Mrs. Carpenter about his results of gram positive and corona virus She said no one at the facility was infected. lack of sterile procedure of his picc line led to sepsis due to the negligence of the nurses who managed his PICC line My grandson was on life support again and would be in the hospital for a month. After learning about the sepsis due to the PICC line I wrote a letter to the Health and Human Services Department to no avail They cited Texas Neural was doing everything they were supposed to do which is funny because they go during the day when they're fully staffed and not at night to see how technicians sit in rooms, empty rooms and watch TV call buttons are going off but they're watching TV or they're on their phones they're on social media I wrote a review back in August 25th of 2024 I'm praying that this review gets to the CEO Ed prettyman, Well I've seen many wonderful reviews It's unfortunate that we had a terrible experience what initially turned out to be great because of Jessica, Kirsten and his speech therapists Too many people knew what was going on including Stephanie Carpenter who Knew my grandson had been there two weeks and witnessed the neglect, but too afraid to advocate for her patients.
