I'm almost certain this woman is a wizard because the massage was pure magic. She is very strong and gives a wonderfully firm massage. She has been the only massage therapist to work out my knots and I feel so much better than when I walked in. She is knowledgeable, friendly, and very responsive to your needs. I am SO THANKFUL to have found Hilda! read more

Hilda runs a small practice within a health club in West Alameda. Though the club doesn't have a luxury feel, Hilda's massages certainly do! Hilda does a great job assessing and catering to your needs for massage therapy- from injured muscles to stiff joints, she has a talent for fixing you right up. She's incredibly strong, and uses an array of techniques to work out tension. Her space is small, but the table is comfortable. The massages are an incredible value. Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. read more

She is very strong for what she does, and you jointly decide how deep you want to go. I always leave feeling much better, at peace, and happy. Highly recommended. read more

If you're looking for a fantastic massage therapist, Hilda's the one. I have not had a massage for over a year once we moved. I used to get regular massages but it was just hard for me to find a massage therapist that intuitively knows how to work on your body, works out your knots, stretches you, uses multiple techniques and relaxes me without any gimmicks. Hilda is it! Plus she's very respectful of you. The club she works out of is clean, modern and has a nice vibe. Complimentary sauna, jacuzzi and other amenities are available for before/after the session. I can't recommend Hilda enough! read more

Hilda has an upbeat personality and she's very caring. Her techniques are very unique, which is a mixture of different techniques. She has some very STRONG hands, I'm talking about FIRM pressure (which I prefer), and of course she can adjust to your personal tolerance level. She even went out of her way after the massage (even though the club was closing) to show me around the entire facility, which is pretty awesome for people who's looking for an convenient gym facility. The massage is very reasonably priced for the work she does. She's been at this facility for over 19 years! WOW. TIP: Bring swimsuits to your massage appointment. Her massage room is inside the MARINER SQUARE ATHLETIC CLUB. There are jacuzzi and sauna rooms on site which you can enjoy prior and/or post massage as a complimentary bonus! Better believe I've found my new go-to masseuse!!! read more

Hilda truly is a healer. Due to chronic stress and a desk job I get a lot of knots in my back. Hilda has helped get rid of the knots! She does it in a way that is healing, not painful. She knows exactly how much and where to apply pressure. I have been to other massage therapists that haven't been able to help. Hilda is now my go to person! She also has a peaceful vibe to her and is fun to talk to. read more

I've been seeing Hilda since becoming a member at MSAC since 2002. The five star rating is more than deserved. If you want a truly one on one experience, Hilda is the one. The price is fair and the quality is top tier. She goes the extra mile to make sure that you get your body back in working condition. She's a true professional and I've recommended all of my friends and co-workers to her. read more

I've been getting massages from Hilda for over five years and I can honestly say she is very good and has a very strong healing hands.

Hilda is amazing. She is very thorough and responsive to my needs-- every muscle in my body is relaxed by the end of my massage! Her price is very reasonable, too. I absolutely love being able to arrive early to soak in the hot tub before my service. The front desk staff aren't always super helpful if you're not a member of the gym, so you may need to ask extra questions and request a robe, etc. A very minor inconvenience when you're getting such a great massage! read more

Hilda is amazing. She listened to what I wanted and the pressure was perfect. She's very sweet and responds quickly to messages. Definitely will be a returning soon! read more

Hilda was immediately responsive to my request for a massage (it was after hours). She helped me with an extremely stubborn stiff neck problem. After she worked on men I was able to rotate my head again and had a wonderful night's sleep. She applies deep pressure where necessary and then lightens it up with a full body massage. Her massage space is very clean, warm, and comfortable. Hilda was very attentive to my needs and I greatly appreciate her work and effort. read more

This was my first time getting a massage so I wasn't sure what to expect. Hilda was polite, attentive, and provided a great massage.

I've been going to Hilda for about four years and highly recommend her. Working at an office desk all day, I've often come to her with neck and shoulder pain that I thought no one could get rid of, but somehow she manages - I've never felt more "light" somehow than the first time she gave me a massage. And she's so attentive, often checking in and asking if the pressure is too soft or too hard or if the room is too hot or too cold. She knows I get cold easily so whenever I come in she has the massage table all warmed up for me and hot towels and a blanket ready. She also takes the time to ask me what I'd like her to focus on and will even go over time if there's a particular area that needs more work. Whenever I go to her, I know I will be well taken care of. read more

Hilda on a regular basis for several years she is by far the best masseuse that I have visited in Alameda during the time I have lived here. I am very glad that I was able to find her at Mariner square Athletic Club. She specializes and deep tissue massage which helps to remove the kinks after a good workout.. She is attentive to my needs always checking to see what needs the most attention and checking during a massage to make sure that she is doing what needs to be done to make me feel better. I really recommend her to anyone having muscle aches or problems or just wanting to relax she is the best read more

Probably the best, most thorough massage I've had. I went to go see Hilda after pulling a muscle in my lower back. I labored through a few days of work limping around. Called her on a Saturday morning on short notice and went to see her Saturday afternoon. She was extremely firm and also showed me a few new stretches. I will definitely be back! read more

Hilda is simply the best. She is always very warm welcoming and fantastic at what she does. I am 6 3" and i like strong massages. She is very strong and she also listens to you in the beginning that what areas most you want her to work on. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! You won't be disappointed! read more

I just completed my first Tough Mudder and it ran my body through the mill! My boyfriend felt so sympathetic to my body aches n pains to suffer no more and found Hilda through Yelp for me. He read of all the wonderful reviews and wanted nothing more for his honey than to be able to state the same as I inched my aching body into her workspace and onto her massage table. Hilda was intuned with my explaination of what i put my body through and worked her magic. I felt well taken care of, the pressure of the massage was perfect, her technique was tenured and she gave me advice on what to do at home to continue the healing process on my own. I was in such good hands and company I never wanted to leave that table! And because i had to as I'm sure she'd appreciate returning to her everyday life activities, looks like I'll need to return and hopefully soon. She's found a new customer out of me (and my bf) and will be our go to moving forward. Thank you so much Hilda! Super grateful we found you. read more

This is the most unprofessional spa. The owner sent me a devil picture to my personal cellphone because I didn't pick up her phone call. I would not want this person putting hands on me. read more

I've been developing software and playing racquetball for a very long time. My back increasingly dislikes both. What my back does like is visits with Hilda. I've been seeing her on a regular basis since 2003. She is hands down the best massage therapist I've ever been to, and I've been to many, often with quite frustrating results, as in little to no relief. Hilda has worked hard for a long time to acquire knowledge and a vast array of techniques. Personally, I like deep tissue massage, and I have found her to be highly skilled at this modality. I also appreciate that that she often inquires during a session whether a particular technique is working and whether she's effectively targeting the problem areas, in contrast to some therapists who seem to go mindlessly though a fixed routine. She also stays in great shape and is quite strong. I honestly feel like Hilda is on a mission to make me as pain free as she possibly can. read more

My second time getting a massage from Hilda and it was just as great as the first. Being a bigger guy it's hard to find someone who can give a good deep tissue. Hilda will work with you to hit your problem areas. Strong hands and very friendly. read more

I have many physical ailments that require massage on a regular basis. Since I travel a lot I am always having massages from different people. I have had massages from over 60 people around the country. Hilda is the best massage therapist I have ever seen. I have been seeing her for many years when I am in town. She has an amazing diversity of techniques and many years of experience. She is very strong but doesn't over use her strength. She listens very closely to what I want and will adjust pressure and focus in a very exact manner. She has helped me with many complicated bodywork problems that others have not be able to resolve. She gives me the massage I need unlike many therapists that give you the massage they think you need. There is a big difference. Hilda's work goes beyond what most massage therapists are able to accomplish. She is also a very nice and happy person unlike the many moody massage people I have encountered which makes seeing her a real joy. I can't recommend her highly enough. You can reach her at 510-706-7091. read more

Hands down (pun intended) Hilda is my favorite masseuse. I have had a number of back issues over the year from sitting at a desk too much and then playing back unfriendly sports like golf and racquetball. I started seeing a chiropractor and getting regular massages. After trying many I came upon Hilda and after that I stuck with her. Hilda has experience in a wide range of techniques and applies segments of them as need to help relieve what ails you. For me it was not only deep tissue massage but she incorporated a number of stretches into the massage that were very helpful in relieving back pain. She is also very flexible in her approach and will give you the massage you want. I like a firm massage and Hilda would put on her back brace, wrap her wrists and attack the knots in my back. My wife likes a gentle massage and she was always happy when she visited Hilda. If you are looking for a great massage, give Hilda a try, you won't be disappointed. read more
