I tried heat, acupuncture, theragun, muscle relaxers, tiger balm, relaxing massage, etc., and it got a tiny bit better but came back with a vengeance this week. Last night at 11:30 pm as I couldn't sleep because of the giant knot that was taking over my neck, I looked for deep tissue massage for this morning, and was so glad I found Dusit Thai. Tai was my therapist and is the owner and she basically saved my life. She did a combination of deep tissue Swedish (I think) massage and had great strong pressure and clearly a lot of knowledge and understanding about anatomy as she worked on both my neck things that weren't my neck but made my neck feel much better. At the end she said, "This might feel a little weird but if you're willing to sit on the floor rug and lean against the table, I can use my knees to get even deeper." I put my clothes on and sat on the floor and I couldn't see what she was doing but somehow she put all her weight in her knee and the knee on my shoulder and it was the best thing that's ever happened to my muscle knots. They have Thai, Swedish, and deep tissue massage and also reflexology. They can do a combination of things like they did for me. I will DEFINITELY be back and I recommend you all check it out!

I knew how messed up I was so I opted for the two hour massage for $140, such a great deal for something so necessary for me. Jennifer was my masseuse and she was super strong, maybe even too strong for me and I'm a thick gym goer who has a decent pain threshold. I thought I needed work on my back, but Jennifer found that the true cuplrit of my pain was my neck and shoulders. She tried to knead her way to get the knots out of my neck and shoulders, but I will definitely need a few more visits for a real resolution. Its been two days since that massage and I am feeling so much better! I definitely need to make a bi weekly massage part of my self care routine. Her office ambiance is very relaxing and serene, and she always makes it as comfortable as possible. Some of the issues I had were eliminated immediately, and some took a little longer, but would always leave there feeling like the "reset" button had been pushed. My issue with sleep was eliminated immediately, and I was able to avoid surgery since my fibroid tumors actually began to shrink! It's incredible. After going to Kimberly and seeing an improvement with the issues I had, I am all for Chinese medicine now. I would still be going to her but I recently moved and started school. Kimberly is amazing and I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a warm, caring, knowledge acupuncturist and/or massage therapist.

It's right on the outskirts of Oakland's Chinatown on a little gritty little street, but I didn't feel unsafe. The place its self is also gritty and not pretty. You need to pay up front and the rooms are bare boned with a curtain over each door for privacy. If you need spa music and mood lighting, you won't find it here, but if you're looking for a deep tissue massage that will leave you limp like a rag doll, this is the place! I specifically asked for a male massage therapist (masseur) and Ken was my massage therapist. I have extremely tight QL muscles that most massage therapists cannot or will not dig deep enough to find. It takes work digging into it. I showed Ken the sore spots and he IMMEDIATELY found it and worked on it for a good 30 minutes. It hurt, I'm not kidding, but it's the GOOD HURT you need to break up deep muscle adhesions. He used deep pressure throughout my body and found virtually every knot and adhesion. He did ask several times if the pressure was OK. He even found some on my scalp that I didn't know I had! The massage was incredible all around and I will absolutely be back for more massages!

I called for a same day late night massage on a Sunday, and they accommodated, even when I was running late. Yelp says they take credit cards, but when I got there he said cash only, so I had to go to the Chase a few blocks away. The foot & leg massage was good - the back massage half was pretty rough, but it did do the trick! I'm giving 4 stars because it did what I needed, and the price is affordable - now $40 for the 30 minutes foot & 30 minutes body. Though I'll keep trying other places in Chinatown looking for a massage that's a little smoother and also affordable. They could definitely make the space cozier, it was nice they played music & gave me a bottle of water.
