I really like this store. Great designs. Back in August 2025 I purchased 2 jigsaw puzzles from this store. I believe I paid $30 each . I came home and started putting together one of the puzzles. OMG! The quality was not good. The cardboard pieces are very thin and I found it difficult to put them together... the pieces would not really stay together and easy to come apart once put in place. Within the week I returned the unopened puzzle and did receive my money back. My husband and I finally finished the puzzle and we were going to throw it away mainly because the quality of the pieces was so bad we didn't want to share it but I decided to bring it back to the store just to show them. The same employee was there who gave me my money back. I just wanted to show her ..... her first reaction was just give the puzzle to someone else. I told her I would never do that because the puzzle pieces were made so poorly and cheaply. She finally told me she would discard it. She never really understood why I would bring it back to her. I'm hoping the owner would read this and maybe get another company to make her puzzles. Her artwork is so nice and I would have enjoyed doing this puzzle so much more if the quality was better. read more

Despite my being a fan of contemporary, abstracted art, I really love Hilary Morris' artwork. She is a self-taught artist who paints local Vancouver scenes (and those of Whistler, too) in a primitive-like manner, akin to Grandma Moses but perhaps with a bit more dimension and layers. To me, it's super appealing and, because the subject matter is so recognizable and the depiction, so literal and whimsical in almost a child-like manner, her artwork is popular with a wide range of people. Since moving to Vancouver two years ago, I've walked about this city extensively. So for me, ever since I first saw Morris' works, I was able to recognize and relate to the happy scenes of this marvelous city: Stanley Park and the seawall, in all four seasons; English Bay, Second and third Beach, Sunset Beach, Siwash Rock; Chinatown, downtown scenes, Gastown; the Aquaferry boats crisscrossing False Creek; Granville Island; and, so much more. Because the scenes are so familiar, painted in such a bright and happy manner, to me they are relatable, accessible and require no analysis. I call it "happy art" and, really, who doesn't need some happy art in their life???? Morris' artwork is probably familiar to you as it's on greeting cards (found in many stores), postcards, notebooks, magnets, coasters, bookmarks and more. Her works are also available every year when she attends the Circle convention at the Convention Center (here you can meet the artist and get special discounts on some of her works. I've purchased boxed sets of her Christmas greeting cards on sale at this convention and all the recipients LOVED their cards!). At her studio today, I was pleased to see painted glass ornament globes, and she mentioned she would soon have jigsaw puzzles depicting her artwork for sale soon, too. I always look forward to seeing what new paintings/Vancouver scenes Morris conjures up, and how she chooses to showcase them. read more

My favorite artist! I love how colorful Hilary's work is and the locations are nostalgic. If I had more wall space I would have more of her work. I'm enjoying the jigsaw puzzles, coasters & bookmarks as well. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. Truly beautiful works of art. read more

I'm a big fan of Hilary Morris' work. I first came across her paintings at Kits Coffee Company. I've since also seen her work in the form of postcards and magnets at Chapters on Granville Street. Today I had the pleasure of coming across Hillary Morris' shop on Granville Island.
