Everything seemed fine the first couple of visits, then I got a bill that I didn't understand. I have good dental insurance, and if it wouldn't pay for a service, they should have told me at the time. Oh and it wasn't a small amount-over $300. Then, after having to cancel two appointments (I have Parkinson's and the symptoms are anything but predictable) I got a letter that was thinly veiled mysogyny, threatening if I had to cancel one more time they would no longer see me. I don't take kindly to threats, and he seems to forget that I'm the customer and HE WORKS FOR ME, not the other way around. I also have a little tip for him: dentistry is very competitive in St. Charles County. In fact, I live about 3 miles from the office and I saw no less than FIVE dentistry practices on my way there-One of which is my new dentist, YAY! They also don't have a dental hygienist there all the time, and it's hard to get an appointment with her. Bye Felicia! read more

It is okay for this office to cancel your appointment while you are driving to the office. On the other hand it is NOT okay to reschedule your appointment with them or they require a $100 deposit to schedule your next appointment. Bad business practices. read more

Just because a cell phone is broken doesn't mean you cannot email or call my husband if you need to confirm appointments already made. I am disabled it takes a lot for me to get up and ready much less get the nerve to go to the dentist for something I know I need . If I were paying cash I probably wouldn't have been bumped off the list , at least a courtesy cancellation email would have prevented me from spending 5 hours of panicking to hope that I would make it through the appointment this morning. I was told to sign forms for my insurance knowing no one was going to wait on me today. email my records so I can try and find another dentist before my life is over, I don't want to wait another 16 years, I paid extra for my humana insurance to cover my dental work at least in part because I am on a fixed income. I am not a complete person if I don't have a cell phone to receive text messages according to the staff. read more

this dentist said "we need xray because you may need root canal". I had a chip tooth, and after several years the bone came off while brushing teeth. this dentist just did not know what she was doing. then tried to charge almost $400 for the bond repair. my previous dentist who has retired told me it should not cost more than $150. and asked me 3x "are you sure she said you could possibly need root canal? and laughed saying "run". this highway K dentist is a price gouger. please do not give them your money. it is a money hungry office and they are taking advantage of people. read more

Dr P will help you keep your teeth healthy. He cares about his patients, his team, his community ,especially during Covid and even less fortunate in Haiti. If you are afraid to go to a dentist I would highly recommend him, he is kind. Don't be afraid! Make an appointment! His main office lady Kristen is always happy, helpful and nice. Dr P is not some grumpy old dentist trying to get you in and out doing things the same old way, he is always up to date with everything new in dentistry, and always improving ways of doing things for his patients comfort , and new technologies. You can tell he values professional development. He listens to both how your teeth feel and also how you feel about your teeth so he can help his patients. His main nurse Beth is really good at her job and you can tell she likes her job and is very knowledgeable about dentistry. I know this is a long review but when I googled the office phone number , cuz I got a new phone and it popped up only 2 stars I HAD to write a review because Dr P and his team are definitely 5 Stars!! read more

I went to Highway K Dental Care for many years. I regularly had my check ups every 6 months and didn't have much trouble. However, the last couple of years the service has been horrible. First of all, you can't hardly get an appointment. I don't think they are that busy, I just think they don't have any help. Most recently, they called and cancelled my teeth cleaning appointment because their only hygienist was out sick. Well, I called to reschedule and the only appointment available was 5 months out! Good grief. That is a long time to wait when you go every 6 months. I feel totally unappreciated as a customer and now have made an appointment with another local dentist. I do not recommend Dr. P or his staff to anyone. read more

Run away this is SCAM! You think you will only do your regular cleaning, but they'll say you need much more treatments that I later figured out were not needed (I asked another doctor's opinion). They will over bill you with services you never requested to do and then will send you to collections. read more

Absolute scam. Told me I have 11 cavities which I've never had any. The hygienist tried to argue that fluoride isn't bad for you. Not to mention the as another poster that they also gave my mother a root canal that she didn't need. You can feel it off of these people that they are sketchy and unprofessional. Sales. That is all they care about. They hide behind their smiles and fake sales pitches and try and get you to pursue treatments that you don't need or won't work for your situation. Dr Pastorek is a great dentist, his staff are great and very personable, and gave a great sense of humor. They are patient with me, friendly, and very kind. I'm very happy I found them and they've been a huge help for me. Others complain of the staff trying to sell services to them. I was presented these as options and not sales pitches. If I said "no," they left it at that. I got Invisalign through them (2-3 either had them or we're going through the process, themselves) and that wasn't because they were pushing it. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! Had a few "cavities". By few Dr. P said I had 8.. He said he was going to split it up into three appointments. Anyways long story short went in for the first appointment to get a set of cavities filled. Which now was over 6 weeks ago I literally can't even chew on my right side of my mouth since. So sensitive and can't put ANY pressure on it. I went back to tell him how sensitive they where. He said it was normal and that he should still do the other fillings that day. I said no and left. So I went to get a second opinion...... NO CAVITIES. So aggravating. And they sent me a bill for more money! Lol this place was a joke. It sucks bc now I'm dealing with not being able to eat on my right side. Save yourself time, money and pain. Go somewhere else! read more

Dr. Pastorek is the opposite of every dental experience I've ever had. He makes this business a five star experience. He is always upbeat and just a pleasant person to talk to. He explains every process and makes you feel educated on what's going on - no matter how simple or difficult the process is. But don't let me forget his staff..... They give him a run for his money when it comes to friendliness. I'm not usually comfortable with people digging around in my mouth, but Dr. Pastorek and his team make things easy. I just had a wisdom tooth extracted, and since it was my first major dental procedure, he called me later that night to make sure I was still feeling well. Just, Bravo for Highway K Dental. I have had one bad experience after another in the past. So, when I had waited as long as possible, NOT to have to be talked down to, by yet another dentist, I started my research. My tooth issues were numerous, and I knew I was looking at some serious work, just to be able to eat properly once again. After seeing some really good reviews, I decided to stop into Dr. Pastorek, and get a consultation. I already had it in my head, that if I was treated any way, other that total professional, I was going to leave, and find another dentist. So, I figured the initial consultation fee would be fairly expensive, as most all of mine had always been. But, to my surprise, not only did it not break the bank, but the entire staff was more friendly than I have ever had. Being apprehensive about smiling, and sometimes even talking, with my teeth in the shape they were, I was so welcomed, without any upturned noses. And after discussing all my issues, and a plan of attack, I took the plunge, and started my long road to recovery. Yes, he is not the cheapest dentist I could find. But "cheapest" wasn't what I was trying to buy. I was looking to better my quality of health and life. I know first hand, you do have to pay for quality, no matter what you want in life. So, I sucked it up, and made a worthy investment, to what I hold dear....My life. With the dental issues I had, heart disease couldn't be far behind. And my wife is happier, to have the thought of me sticking around longer with her. I had to have several teeth pulled, and some root tips extracted. I went in, frankly, freaked out at the thought of it all. But, once again, I was put at ease by each and every person I was in contact with on that day. It was a rough day, to say the least. But, after all my work was done, I had a set of temporary dentures, and a partial, inserted into place. And, for the first time in I don't know how long, I smiled, and didn't hate what I saw looking back at me. Dr. Pastorek contacted me later that evening, just to check ion me. Making sure I was doing alright, and to see if I was in need of anything. He has done so after each of my visits since, as I had a couple of problematic spots. I can not recommend him, or his amazing staff enough. I still have several visits to go, before I am done. But each visit is one closer to me being able to feel a little more human again. I am one step closer to smiling for a picture, and not having to think about if my teeth are showing, just be myself. One step closer, to not only being able to eat real food again, but not being ashamed to do it around people again. One step closer to a new me. read more

The first time I went I heard that I needed 9 fillings which really surprised me since I hadn't had any for a long time from any previous dentists. He convinced me that since I had just had a baby that sometimes that can damage your teeth, which I had read about too, so I thought it was legit. The next visit I got the root canal and crown done that he said I needed on one tooth, costing me about $800 out of pocket after insurance. (I had never had to have either of these procedures done on any of my other teeth before.) The following visit I got two of the remaining eight other fillings done. I just was not having a good feeling about getting another six done without checking with another dentist first so I got a recommendation from a family member and tried someone else. No surprise, he said I needed no fillings! He also looked at my x-rays that were transferred and said he would not have given me the expensive root canal and crown on that other tooth either! I told a friend to leave Hwy K and try my new dentist and suddenly all the dental problems she supposedly had were gone too. We both have been going to the new place for two years now and neither of us have had to have any dental work done at all yet! It seems Hwy K is just out to make as much money as they can off their customers. read more

Dr. Pastorek was fantastic, but the dental hygenist was everything I hate about the dentist. She was judgemental, negative and by the end of my visit, I thought all my teeth were going to fall out.
