I come here pretty often. Very disappointed at my last visit. I bought a pen from them, and it broke, so I needed to replace it. I wanted to note that my pen was under $20.00. They wouldn't trade me pens, because after a few months it's not in "warranty" the employee said. I still needed to buy a charger for my pen that had wires coming out of it, if I we're the owner I would have replaced the pen no problem for a loyal customer (especially now that I can get electricuted)! So pumped to get some glass from this awesome shop. They literally have glass artists blowing glass right in front of you while you shop! So cool! I got to meet the owner Will Glass and he was super helpful when showing me beaker bottom water pipes. The prices were on point. I chose a Rick and Morty themed tube and they threw in a hand blown bowl piece for $10 more (usually 40$) and I could've got a standard bowl piece for free... all in all the purchase ran me 90$ out the door... my piece works like a dream, so dope! Worst shop I've ever been into. I came here because a nice man on State St. recommended this shop. What he didn't say was that they had the crappiest selection of glass and worse yet, no customer service. When we arrived the man behind the counter was helping some guys with a vape pen and that's fine, do what you're paid to do, but at least acknowledge that someone else, has come into your shop. We wandered around looking at the glass, or lack of, for a good fifteen minutes, still without being acknowledged. No hi, welcome, I'll be with you...NOTHING. I guess we weren't worth his time (there were three of us, all wanting to spend under $300 on new stuff) therefore he isn't worth my money, not that they had any worthy glass anyway. If you're looking for china made glass or cheap spoons, do visit. If you want quality glass and quality service go to Fuzion, it's on State street. Won't ever be back. read more

I'm so happy to have found HighTide in Santa Barbara. High quality functional glass ware is very hard to find in college areas like Santa Barbara which are inevitably flooded in crappy smoke shops. I walked in to this store on a whim, having already made a trip to downtown to check out other shops. I was immediately surprised to see glass by "Sovereignty," an artist whose work I have only ever seen available on-line. The owner Wil is an artist himself, and has much of his own work on display. These guys have all of the big names as well. I was really impressed with the quality of customer service offered at this location. Employees at most other local shops are really just condescending elitists, but Wil was eager to take stuff out and show it to me before I even had an opportunity to demonstrate any knowledge of glass art (which is generally necessary to be taken seriously in a smoke shop). His zeal for great glass work really made my shopping experience pleasurable, and not pressured at all. I ended up picking up the Sovereignty piece I wanted and Will made me a great deal on it. There was an additional item I was looking for that they didn't have, so they made one for me in their work shop in the back. This is definitely my new go-to place. read more

What a shitty shop!! All the bongs are way over price. Their repair service is a joke. They say it will take 2 weeks to fix a joint and after two months I had to get my money back and call it quits. The people working there are lazy potheads that smoke all day in the shop. I have seen a worker there break a bong and blame a customer for not saving it before it hit the ground. Moved down to Santa Barbara from Santa Cruz looking for a new good reliable glass blower, since i left mine back home. I walked into High Tide not even two days after it had opened. Since then i periodically stop by to buy some new glass. I have not once been disappointed with the work or the service there. Will, the owner, has such a friendly and welcoming vibe that exhumes amongst his customers. I have never once been in-n-out of that store. I love that you can always get caught up in conversation with anyone that works there, and they don't disregard you unlike many of the other cheap smoke shops around here. I'd have to say it is one of my favorite shops to go to and i will definitely be there in the next few days because all of the glass is so detailed and artistic.
