I would not take my business here if your trying to save money. Economy is not great right now and businesses like this one are taking advantage of that. I went to get a pod for my sons vape, not only did he sell me the wrong one but, was 1.99 more than where I normally get his. I also get Krave Green Maeng Da usually 1000 capsules, they sell it for 130.00 at illiusions I get it for 90.00 a short distance away. This place is a major price gauge! I would not recommend it to anyone. Not only did the guy make a mistake I handed him my sons vape, he gave me the wrong size and charged me 5.00 for one. I I had to pay for my gas to come back which we all know is expensive. I also get my son Zyn 3 mg smooth to help him to quit smoking. We pay 5.39 for them. At illusions it is double that. Save your money check around cause this place over charges for sure! I give them a zero if I could. Sure they have friends posting reviews with 5 stars. Check around people, i am telling the truth. Thats the only thing I do. Call other places and get their prices. You will not be sorry. 90.00 compared to their 130.00 for the Krave Green Meang Da can buy you 40.00 in gas or food. My son also order from Indonesia which he gets better prices eliminating the middle man. My son takes it for severe pain. Here's my story. I walked in to buy a vape and had many questions. Sam answered all of them patiently and without trying to be pushy or sell me. Then I stepped backwards, accidentally breaking two beautiful glass pieces. I felt terrible, but Sam was so kind and told me not to worry, that this was part of doing business, and to go think about my vape purchase. Purchased a PAX vaporizer and Sharpstone grinder. PAX was defective, contacted Ploom and found out it was counterfeit (PX serial #). Also purchased Sharpstone grinder, didn't even work as well as my plastic one and features marks (TM symbol, center part shape) that have been reported as clear indicators of counterfeiting Wish I'd known. As an e-cig store, this is no more than a 3-star place. They sell cheap, awful juice from China--Vapage--which really isn't good. But they now have Hollywood, a premium vapor, and that's much better. The melon/cotton candy was pretty good but too sweet for a primary vape. Some dessert flavors are like cognac or port. I don't want to drink cognac all the time. On occasion after a fancy dinner, it's nice to sip as a dessert (meaning, in lieu of dessert). But they do carry Kangertech mini-pro tank and coils. The store carries many beautiful glass pipes, artisan-made, at various price points. It's next to the great old diner Garrett's and closer than SB Vapor (which is run by really nice guys passionate about e-cigs), but also doesn't carry premium vapor. If in a bind, I can tolerate Vapage for a day or two but am always relieved when I get to LA or NYC and can buy the good stuff (Virgin Vapor, organic, my favorite: Plum Crazy). But the manager is terrific and she's committed to expanding the e-cig section. I don't know if they have good tobacco prices as that's no longer important to me. But the location is terrific and I am so relieved that I can get a tank or coil when mine gives out. I won't have to wait to go to LA the next time my tank conks out and for this I am grateful. Unbelievably rude staff, and cheap glass. DO NOT SHOP HERE! I went in on the phone with my girlfriend to buy her a new bong and some incense. After being on the phone for no more than 5 minutes and browsing, the guy working yelled at me, "If you're going to talk on the phone for 15 minutes, leave my store and come back when you know what you want!" I've never been spoken to in such a way as a customer. If you're going to run a business, as least learn the basics to customer service. DON'T SHOP HERE unless you want to be yelled at, and degraded. After struggling with the Pax Vapor company I feared I wouldn't be able to get my Christmas gifts in time. I called around town to see if any stores had the Pax 3 complete kit available for purchase..most places were sold out or only had 1 in stock (I needed 4). I called Illusions, he kindly told me when they would be getting in their shipment. I told him my situation and he told me he would hold 4 for me the day he had them in stock. I was just passing through Santa Barbara when I visited the shop. The shop is clean and well stocked. The woman who helped me was very friendly and helpful, and I ended up buying a Micro G vaporizer. I was unfamiliar with the brand, I wasn't looking for anything in specific, I bought it based on her recommendation. I soon found out I should have done better research before buying anything. It was completely defective. When I tried to return it, she informed me they weren't able to do any refunds, although it wasn't posted anywhere, and that she could offer an exchange or store credit. We cycled through all the possibilities that it was somehow my fault, perhaps not using it correctly, which i understood, but ultimately what I explained to her was i used the device EXACTLY HOW SHE EXPLAINED AT THE POINT OF PURCHASE. I really was only looking for a vaporizer, but i did not want to exchange for one without researching it first, so an exchange was out, and I live all the way across the country so store credit wouldn't really help me either. I explained this to her, but she wasn't willing to budge. She was very nice, however I felt like I was being dicked around, and a couple times I caught her contradicting herself. I left the store with another over-priced and what I can only discern as a poorly designed vaporizer, as it did not work well. I'm comparing to a G pen which i have used and found to work really well, and upon further research is at almost the exact same retail price that this shop was offering for the products that just plain don't work. Overall I left feeling taken advantage of and very disappointed with my second malfunctioning device, that she decided to give to me for less provided she exclude certain pieces that come with the device, so they didn't lose any money, which i thought was pretty insulting. If you're going for glass, the selection is pretty good, but she explained to me that the glass has a really high mark up, so i would try to bargain, cause I don't think they have a problem overcharging people. read more

This shop is everything wrong with the headshop industry. All their glass is complete crap from china and they overmark it more than double of what they paid for it. Ontop of that they have no idea about their products. I walk in and the guy working there is just sitting down behind the counter on his cellphone and doesn't even acknowledge me coming into the shop. I had to eyeball him down for him to get off his cell phone to help me, the customer. I went to see if they had hemp wick spools like every other headshop in town, he pulls out a toothpick with less than 1 foot of hempwick wrapped around it and he wanted $2 for it. Anywhere else sells atleast 10 feet for 2 or 3 bucks, or spools of 200 feet for $25 that ends up at 20 feet for $2.50. This shit is so corrupt, don't support this business unless you want to get ripped off for shit products. read more

Just walked in the store, empty of customers as usual....employee(s?) and friends smoking hookah in the back. Said Hi, server came up to the cash register, looked at me - I gave him my order, he proceeded to look at the floor and continue a phone conversation he was having. Waited a further 5 mins with him stood in from of me at the register looking at the floor and straight up just ignoring that I was there. Gave up, exited the store, at which point the worker and his friends(or other workers who knows) ran out the store as if some how they'd decided at that precise moment my business now suddenly mattered asking me to come back, however it was too late. Live in the neighborhood and was my go-to store for everything smoke-related. Second strike for me so no more...though, thankfully there is another decent store right around the corner where you can be served a simple item in under 10 mins when there are no customers. read more
