Harmony Glass Works is an amazing place to wander and gawk. The beauty and the colors of the various glass arts were unbelievable. Just be sure to keep your purse or backpack tucked up. My Sister, for my 70th Birthday, bought me a session with Nate to learn to blow glass. Under his very patient directions I made a beautiful bowl! It takes hard work and so much knowledge to be able to teach this skill to someone in one lesson. And at the end you have a beautiful piece of art to take home with you. I have wanted to have a lesson for years and it was so worth it. Nate is amazing and I would highly recommend having him share his skill and expertise with you while you take a lesson from him.
On our way to Cambria we stopped in Harmony to check out this small city. The Glassworks store is one of the stops here. It's such an amazing place selling hand blown glass products such as jewelry, cups, pictures, vases and much more. So many colors and shapes. So much to see and chose from. I purchased a miniature glass penguin and love it. So unique and cute. Customer service not so friendly, I don't know why .. had the same problem at the coffee shop and the ice cream truck.
Located in the tiny town of Harmony, California (population 18), just off Hwy 1, is the home of Harmony Glassworks. The gallery/studio showcases a large selection of all types of glass art for sale, from jewelry to vases, from candies to large sculptures, and everything in between. The selection is extensive in all price ranges. The glass artworks are worth the visit just to admire the talents of the mostly local artisans. There is a production area/working studio area to view artists at work. Harmony Glassworks also offers one on one on-site instruction for those ages 12 & up, to create a glass vase or bowl. Contact the studio by phone or book on-line for this educational & fun personal experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions one might have.
The Harmony Glass Works is in Harmony, an easily overlooked stop off Hwy 1, just before Cambria. Well worth the stop. The Glass Works offers all sorts of hand blown glass objects, from tumblers to flowers. All the objects are lovely and crafted in the shop. The artisans work at furnaces walled off from the retail store, but easily in view of shoppers. See your gift being blown! Prices are a bit high for our mass production world, but reasonable for hand crafted artwork!
You must go to Harmony Glassworks if you're anywhere nearby. We've purchased many items from here over the years! We love the rainbow wind chime with the glass panels attached to local driftwood that we've had for years. Harmony Glassworks offer wide variety of "wait, that's glass!?" items as well as everyday items like earrings, nail files, and magnets. SO MANY glass items to see (and buy). My daughter & I just took our first glassblowing class with Nate, and it was nothing short of incredible. Nate is kind, patient, a great listener and above all an EXCEPTIONAL teacher. Throughout the process, he validated us by saying,"that looks great," or "you're doing great," or "that looks perfect." Before the class began, Nate told us what we would do, how he would maneuver the glass, and all the ways to keep safe during the process. My daughter and I were both scared to mess up or drop the glass, but Nate helped us to see that he'd help us however we needed to ensure we had a beautiful vase at the end of our class. And we do!! As much as I love having this object we created together, I really feel like Nate is the treasure here. This experience is unique and extremely valuable because of Nate's expertise and approach. Nate's care for his craft and his class is obvious from the first handshake to the final moments.
Extensive supply of all things glass. From rings to yard art, you can spend an hour admiring all the artistic designs. We bought a great rainbow wind spinner, and wanted more, but restrained ourselves. You can watch them blow the glass, located in a serene setting. Pleasant service, okay prices.
I been to this place several times over the years. But this time I came for glass blowing lessons with my kids. The three of us each did our own lessons and the process for booking the lessons was very easy. I spoke and worked with Eric, Colton, and Nate(artist/instructor), they were phenomenal very professional, helpful, and great to work with. My kid and I had a blast, it's amazing to create something so unique and beautiful that is truly inspiring by one's creative mind and see the end result once it was ready. Nate instructed us individually as we each had our lesson, explaining safety, how the process and all the steps that go into creating a piece. We will definitely be returning and sharing with everyone, because this is truly a lost art, like so many others. Thank you to everyone at Harmony Glassworks for an incredible experience that we won't forget.

This was a great experience! I learned a ton, and Nate did an amazing job of walking us through the process. I could write a very long winded eloquently craft essay on this lovely portion of a recent trip to California. If you're anywhere San Luis Obispo, make your way to Harmony it's a cool place to check out.
Cute little shop where you can watch the glassblower at work. Book ahead for glass blowing lessons. This town also has a pottery shop which sells amazing home made soaps and an ice cream truck. Get here early because the truck closes at 4. You can also book weddings, bar mitzvahs, quicineras and graduation parties at their outdoor gazebo. Fun stop after Hearst Castle or Cambria
I'm not going to lie, this is tucked away in a tiny town of only 18. I thought it might give me flashbacks and nightmares about my childhood growing up in a tiny town. But nope! This was the PERFECT place I came up here and stocked up on tons of wine from all the wineries up here and came across all these beautiful wine toppers. I hope none of my BFFs see this, because they will literally know their upcoming birthday and Christmas gifts. This place is awesome, they have an open area where you can watch the glass pieces be blown and they even have lessons where you can make your own (I don't know any of the details such as prices and what you get to learn / make) so I'd definitely call them ahead of your visit to plan accordingly. They have everything from ornaments, paperweights, yard decorations, glass pens, little glass animal figurines, vases, jewelry, marbles, beads and etc The customer service was beyond outstanding. I was so nervous coming into a place like this with my dog (she's in a stroller) but they were so dog friendly and amazing. Normally when I go to galleries and places like this in Laguna beach the place can be so stuffy and the people can be so rude. If you are ever in this area I highly recommend stopping by! They even have a little discount area attached to the side of the building. Some items were 25 dollars instead of 75. But then there was even bigger pieces such as vases and lamp bases that were 75 dollars but normally in the high hundreds. I actually came here today, got 5 miles down the road and decided to turn around to get a couple things to send to my dad

Nate is not only kind and patient, but he also takes the time to explain everything thoroughly, making the learning process both fun and enjoyable. My son, who is typically quite shy, felt completely at ease thanks to Nate's gentle and welcoming approach. Over the course of the two-hour class, my son created two beautiful pieces, and I can't wait to see the final product. We're already excited to return! I highly recommend Harmony Glassworks to everyone--especially since they welcome children as young as 7! Worth the price!

We loved walking into this shop (though I sure kept my arms at my sides). Luckily nothing crashed to the floor. Great place to find gifts. Vases, windchimes, earrings, necklaces, ornaments, bowls, and more. We were lost in the wonder of their creative pieces. Glass artist, Nate Nix created a piece while we were there. He was super friendly and very informative. It was enthralling to watch as he calmly sculpted the glass into different designs and glided seamlessly between the different equipment and tools. Classes also are available. We bought earrings and some postcards. Items were fairly priced for handcrafted items. Worth stopping in to see their shop. read more
Beautiful artwork handmade by the artists running the shop. You'll be admiring something and the employee will proudly mention they made it. They've got all price points with everything from drinking glasses to large art pieces. They make everything onsite so you can watch the magic happen in their open studio. Check it out! read more

Nate is not only a very gifted artisan he is a good teacher as well. He explained everything before we started then went over it again as we worked on my piece. This is something I've wanted to do for years and I couldn't be happier with the experience or my finished piece. read more

Driving up the coast on Hwy 1 you'll find a small little town, population 18, named Harmony. Not a big town, basically a cul-de-sac and a magnificent winery. That being said, you must stop in to the Harmony Glassworks building! Here you will find amazing glass blown trinkets, ornaments, bowls, glasses, jewelry, and a wide arrangement of other gorgeous items for your home or gifts. While you are shopping, you can watch the glassblower doing his fascinating magic. I've been a handful of times and every single time he has been there working on pieces. So interesting and fun to watch. The shop can be found on the end of "downtown" to the left, you really can't miss it. Parking is along the street but still a short walk to any destination in Harmony. Prices are as expected for unique pieces. Ranging from $15 to hundreds. During non-Covid times they also offer lessons! Check their website, I'm sure once that is up and running again you'll be able to find out what to do. I never miss an opportunity to stop in and browse around and check out what the glassblower is up to. CHEERS!! read more

Took a private glassblowing class and it's quite an experience ! You really get to understand how much work goes into creating these pieces. Nate, the master glass blower talked me through the process from beginning to end. I want to go back and make a vase to go with my bowl. Worth every penny. I also picked up a few items in their lovely shop. read more

This is one of the highlights of the little town of Harmony, Population 18. They have beautiful handcrafted glass art - blown glass bottles, dishes, flowers, sea creatures, wind chimes and much more. Like most handcrafted glass art I've seen, the prices can be a little lofty, but they have a little something for everybody's budget. Sometimes an artisan is in the shop demonstrating the process of creation. If nothing else, come in and admire what you see. read more

I took a glassblowing class with Nate, and it was a great experience! He was knowledgeable, encouraging, and patient, teaching me the safe way to use all of the tools to create my vase. I have purchased some glass pieces from Harmony Glassblowing in the past, and I was excited to get to be a part of making my own piece and learning the process. I recommend it! read more

What an awesome experience. Had watched the Netflix show Blown Away and was amazed at the pieces these master glass workers can create. Decided to find a spot to take the wife and have a lesson. Nate, our instructor was great at explaining everthing and walked us through the whole process. Had a great time and was exceited the next day to see our creation. Came out pretty sweet. Harmony is a great little stop and this was definitely worth the money. Graet pieces for sale in the store that I now have so much more respect for. read more
A small glassblowing studio and gallery in the one-horse-town of Harmony. They have various works of art for sale and you can buy blowing sessions to create your own pieces of glass artwork. Even if you're not interested in making your own creation, you can watch Eric Dandurand (owner and master glassblower) blow glass. The work shop is inside the gallery. I'd say that Harmony Glassworks is mostly a glassblowing experience than a shopping experience but check it out anyway. Not much else to see or do in Harmony. - Prices for blowing glass starts at $165 for an hour and you get to make your own glass bowl. - You can buy pieces of tumbled glass that can be used for various home art projects. read more
My fascination for colored glass do-dads is nurtured by finding real workshops like this. The teeny tiny town of Harmony, one of several charming artist's communities near the Hearst Castle empire, already has a delightful charm to it. Let it lure you in as you cruise down Hwy 101. Just 6 aging buildings line the bumpy main street that make up the entire downtown. One modest city block. The town is surrounded by golden hills and tall pines, while the lovely winery, Harmony Cellars overlooks it from its perch on the hillside. At the far end of that city block you will find a quirky building that declares you have arrived at Harmony Glassworks, a studio where you can watch the artisans as they blow glass and create some fun and extraordinary objets d'art. Of course, you can also whip out your wallet and be the proud owner of a one of a kind piece you will find in the gift shop. My needs were simple...this time...a pair of glass earrings. But it is no secret, I lingered, wondering where I could hang a cluster of lovely swirled glass balls, or a composite stained glass window, or even some colorful glass wind chimes. If you do not want to be tempted, then turn your eyes away. I shudder with excitement. read more

My boyfriend and I took a glass blowing lesson with Nate Nix and had such an amazing time! He was very thorough with instructions and made sure we left with beautiful bowls. Definitively started us on an expensive hobby! read more

After seen season 1 of blown away on Netflix my wife and I were hungry for more of this amazing art of glass! This shop is located in a small town of the central coast in California, just minutes away from Cambria and San Simeon. So we stop there to check it out, first thing we saw the master glass makers doing their magic, turning a small pinch of glass into something extraordinary. The shop is really nice with lots of art pieces that you can buy, I highly recommend for you visiting this area to stop by check it out and support local businesses, it doesn't have to be something expensive but small buy will do and keep local business a live. I can't wait to go back and see what else these artists are doing. read more
