My husband and I had a lovely time strolling in Artifacts Gallery during his birthday trip. We enjoyed various sections of different art styles. However, we gravitated towards the Disney room immediately! There were so many beautiful canvases and we fell in love with their collection of Wall-E and Eve. Staff were so friendly in assisting with any questions we had. On the walls, we noticed they offered layaway so we inquired about how that works. Shelly was very patient in explaining how we begin the process and how we'd receive the artwork, especially being from out of town. Although we weren't in the position financially to bring home all the Wall-E and Eve art we found, my husband did gift himself a Mulan figure as a birthday gift. We can't wait to visit Artifacts Gallery in the future again! :) read more

Wow... wow... wow! This place was brilliant from the moment we walked in. Every wall was designed and decorated so beautifully. The art that was put together shows the passion from the creators. There was a room filled with Disney paintings that even brought tears to my eyes... my kids were fascinated by it. I cannot forget the bird feeders that were on the wall (how creative this is and who the heck would think of doing this) My son is 9 and had the best time ever. The guy at the front desk had so much knowledge about all the things and was very patient with all of our questions... Also they are Dog Friendly so even Kevin our Schnauzer got to participate and see the dog pictures on the wall. The staff came out to greet him. It just melted my heart. I was on vacation last week and found this shop while wandering around central Cambria. They have a great selection of unconventional art and it's displayed nicely in their large gallery. I was drawn to a nice selection of metal prints by the artist Arunas Zilys. The one I really liked I did not purchase, and I have since regretted that decision until today. I called the shop and spoke with Kassady, who was super helpful. I was able to purchase the piece I liked (thankfully they still had it) and arrange for it to be shipped. If you find yourself in downtown Cambria and like art, don't miss this place. They have a great selection, a beautiful gallery and knowledgeable and helpful staff. Walked in and was immediately greeted with the sight of an entire wall of AI art. This is incredibly insulting to the real artists displaying their work here. Can't believe the curators wouldn't screen for this obvious AI slop. The people selling these trying to make a quick buck (all these AI generated pieces priced at $60 and above, disgusting) should be genuinely embarrassed. The pics below all were labeled with an artist with last name "Markham" - Hope you're ashamed. The real art displayed here was beautiful, but I'm completely disinterested in any place giving AI art any value. read more

I love this gallery. I've bought several art pieces and sculptures here over the decades and always make sure to visit when I'm in town. It's two stories with multiple styles of art. For being in a tourist town I feel their prices are fair. Staff lately has been very friendly, knowledgeable about all the artists, and do not follow you around pressuring you like most galleries. Now I have to say "lately" because years ago a staff member took me over to the side when my wife was looking at art and said "You know, if you truly loved your wife you'd buy her that art". That pissed me off so bad I stopped coming here for a few years and why I can't give them 5 stars. Honestly though that's my only bad experience with shopping here for over 20 years but that one experience was a real bad one and I always think of it when walking in the door! Last week wife got me a steampunk plague doctor sculpture to add to my nerd collection of comic books and other nerdy art. read more

No visit is complete to Cambria unless I stop by here, especially because of the glass art. That's my favorite part of this place. My husband and I are always drawn to glass art, and we know this place has a wonderful supply of it. I had fully intended to buy another piece (bought something a few years ago for my daughter), but my husband was already in my head stating "but we don't have anywhere to put it." I hate when he's right. LOL. I may be back home now, but I will be up in Cambria again, and I will plan better, so that I WILL have room for added decorative purchases, and I will be able to buy one of these beautiful art pieces. read more

The gallery actually has two locations (both are on the same block, and for some reason they use the same address for both of them). Anyway; we visited both locations two days ago and the selection was *wonderful* (art, sculptures, and many other lovely & interesting objects)! It was like a mini-museum in each case and we spent a lot of time perusing. Also, the employees were *very* friendly & informative and we enjoyed talking to them. We ended up buying two items; a brilliantly-colored fused glass piece and a small humorous-looking sculpture. Both are now en route to NYC via UPS. (Update on 9/17/13): We received both items and the packing was absolutely the best we've ever seen. I think it took me nearly an hour to get all the tape off the larger box (I take recycling seriously; ha ha) and to get all of the packing material out of the box and break it down before bringing it to the recycling area in our building. It was backbreaking work, and I do mean that seriously. BUT: the incredible attention to packing is emblematic of the employees' attentiveness. The woman who sold us the fused glass piece (Gina) even enclosed a lovely note. Now *that* is great customer service! read more

During COVID-19 when everything was shut down I went online and I like this picture. It was a picture of Avila Beach by Thomas. It's funny I went to my dentist the other day, Oaks Dental and they had some of his artwork on the wall and I recognized it. Anyway I ordered it and they shipped it to me. We ended up splitting the shipping cost which was very nice of them. We have bought other artwork from artifacts they have an excellent selection. I always check there first if I want anything to put on the walls. read more

Walking around in downtown Cambria, we came across this pretty awesome gallery where they highlight a lot of local artists. As with many towns with a beach type theme, a lot of these gallery's feature the ocean. Artifacts is much like that and while they do feature some local artists some of their work come from people in other countries as well making for a pretty awesome mix of pieces. Whether you enjoy painting, pictures, sculptures or figurines, this place has it all. While a small portion of the stuff here I would consider "tacky" they actually have some pretty nice pieces that you won't find anywhere else. Even though I've only checked in here once, this is the second time I came in and found a beautiful metal sculpture that I had shipped to my home here in Atlanta. Really enjoyed my time here and the individuals working here really seemed to enjoy what they do. They take the time to talk about the artist and their work in detail which is so awesome. They're not just there for a purchase but really interested in educating the customer about their art philosophy. Well worth the visit if you're in the area. Very inviting gallery with a wide variety of art, jewelry and gifts that will leave you uttering, I want, I love, I need as you wander through. We spoke to a lovely saleswoman that was knowledgeable and personable. If you are a fan of vintage travel poster art, you will marvel at their wide collection from Steve Thomas. Owners and lovers of special dog breeds such as the scrumptious Havanese will be delighted when they set eyes on Stephen Fowler's pieces. Of course, who doesn't love Theodor Geisel, nee Dr. Seuss. The gallery has several of his pieces as well. Great place to buy a gift for someone special, or treat yourself to a lovely souvenir of your visit to the enchanted Central Coast. read more

This was the best art gallery in Cambria, in my opinion. It felt really big inside and had several different artists with very different styles. They really had something for everyone! I went here with my Mom and Dad, Sister, Bro-in-Law and niece and nephew and everyone had their favorite artist or style! My favorite was the photography that was printed on wood planks, I came really close to picking one up!! Another favorite was the black and white paintings that would completely change with the lighting and angle. They had another artist that made really cool bar art based on funny drunk sayings, they were fun to guess the saying before reading the title. It's a great mix of art styles (that also expands the range of personal budgets): paintings, photography, sculptures, metal work, enamels, goofy bar art, globes, jewelry. I found this gallery online when I was looking to order a Houston Llew Spiritile. They have a great selection so I tried to place an order online and for some reason it didn't go through. So I called the 800 number and was helped immediately. I placed my order and within 15 minutes after my phone call I had a tracking number from USPS that my tile was on its way. Wow, what great customer service. Plus the shipping was free! The price was as expected for this artist too. Higher end artwork can be found at this gallery. I especially enjoyed looking at the bronze frog sculpture. The artist captures the personality of frogs in various positions, some of them very comical. These are not your usual bronze frogs because they're colored and in very vivid, bright colors including spots and reticulated designs. I could stay in there all day looking at them. There are paintings and wall hangings and jewelry in the other room. You can easily find the front door because they have a gigantic bronze frog in front. read more

I was looking for a sea turtle item for a birthday gift and the customer service was above and beyond. The ladies were so nice, and there were two Artifacts, and the ladies at both places did everything they could to help me find the perfect gift. We got most of our frogs by artist Tim Cortterill at this Gallery. It has a huge selections of his frogs, probably the biggest selections. The staff are very friendly and helpful and most importantly you don't feel pushed to buy anything. And you can ask for a close look, touchy feelie of any of the frogs.. each frogs are unique so make sure you look at them closely. If you are thinking of starting a collection of these awesome bronze frogs. You can get them online or local gallery near you, but I highly highly recommend you make a trip to Cambria and make an event out of it. The first one is always the most memorable one. The worst place every. I bought three frogs at that place made by Tim Cotterill. I noticed a chip on one of them. I contacted Mr. Cotterill and asked him to fix it. He said sure for $250. The chip is a manufacturing defect. The thing was not dropped or hit by anything. So Mr Cotterill clearly does not stand behind his work in any way at all. I was recently at Artifacts gallery. I told them about it. There response was here is the telephone number of Mr. Cotterill and one of his forms. Good luck. If a nutshell they were of no help whatsoever. This is not the kind of response one expects from a reputable gallery. I for one will never go back there. I encourage every one else to do likewise. read more

Artifacts is on our "every visit to Cambria" list. It has a wonderfully eclectic selection of art, the staff is well educated and helpful but not at all pushy, and the prices are not overly inflated. We have purchased a variety of pieces over the years, including a standing sculpture, a painting, and a wall sculpture, and are very happy with our purchases. The painting wasn't framed as we wanted and they took us to their framing room, where we were able to pick out just exactly what we wanted. But don't feel like you can't go if you don't buy! My wife collects Tim Cotterill frogs, and Artifacts Gallery is an authorized dealer, so we come up periodically. I'm always amazed at the variety of art styles they carry, and you just never know what you'll find. This trip, we bought a metal spider made from an old army helmet, with assorted hardware welded on to make legs, eyes, fangs, etc. I know, it sounds weird, but it's really cool. Surprise, no frog this trip! :-) If you're in the area, stop by. It's fun to browse. read more
