I stopped in and used Apple Pay to pay for 60$ worth of gas! The transaction was declined on there end but 60$ was charged to my Apple Cash account!I was heading back home to New York and they saw the money was taken from my end! Good grief. These reviews are ridiculous. It's a gas station. First of all the comment regarding no public restroom simply isn't true. Perhaps it was at some point, but there are public restrooms. Second of all they are building a new larger highs kitchen... So there should soon be even more options for food and beverage as well as more restrooms. I have never had an issue with customer service. I'm not saying the service here is amazing, but I feel the need to try to balance out the comments on the old reviews that paint the picture that everyone that works at this location is terrible at their jobs. read more

I would've given the store a 5 star review however the display of so called management by the young lady with the assistant manager name tag named Tammy was beyond poor. She was yelling in the store, on the phone with someone for over 5 minutes as well as singing so loud it was unbearable as far as volume and sound. She was yelling out demands to the other staff who were working diligently. To me it was an " Im in charge and you are beneath me mentality and display." I have never in my life seen such unprofessional behavior and debauchery. I frequent this store very often and usually have a pleasant visit. However I will say since she has been added to the store the feeling in the store is not as welcoming and pleasant. I usually encounter Megan, Heather, Kat early in the day and usually encounter Tyree, Tracy , Shae and Brandy in the evenings when I come to the store. The store Manager Don is always there ready to jump in and help customers or his staff and I have never seen him yelling, talking loud on the phone while on the floor, or singing loud and obnoxious. That display truly has changed how often I come and patronize the store. Hopefully this changes but as long as she is there being obnoxious and loud , I will go elsewhere to save myself from the headache and torture to my ears. I truly feel bad for the staff that have to endure such an atrocity. To the High's Team keep up the good work even though you have to deal with such foolery. Sunday January 2 2022 I was treated rudely by Tracy the station attendant who called me ignorant and stupid when I I would not follow her incorrect instructions on how to get a voucher from a winning ticket. I only wanted the voucher first for the winner and then would put in my next pay strip, but she told me to put in my next ticket before getting the voucher which I did not want to do. My multi draw card required only a $ 20.00 bill since it was being played for $ 10 plays and she then called me ignorant for not following her desired simpler way to do it. She did not know that my next ticket was not a 1 ticket play but a multi draw. I was insulted and embarrassed in front of another customer when she complained to that customer that her day was okay until she had to deal with ignorant and stupid over there --meaning me. She then berated me further telling me she does not work for the Md Lottery and was being courteous to me as a favor helping out at the machine. read more

I got gas today around 11 AM and again the pump did not provide a receipt. I went into the store and asked for a receipt. The female cashier said "I don't know why people need receipts. It is on your phone. I told her I do not have a cell phone and that I associate my receipts with my statement. Then she told me that "receipts Pollute". I told her the owner should add paper so receipts can be printed. She said the machine was full. This woman was disrespectful to me and the gentleman in front of me who was asking for change from his debit card. Highs has gone to the bottom of the barrel when they hired her. read more

I almost didn't want to write this, because I felt a little bad for most of the staff. But here it goes... I stopped at Highs today for a "pit stop". I had been on the road all day doing driving jobs and I had to use the bathroom. So I go in and there are two restrooms (men and women) and they are private rooms. So I wait... And I wait... And I wait... Finally I went to the register to purchase a Red Bull and I asked the cashier if the bathrooms were locked and "do I need a key". The cashier told me to go ahead and use the men's room. It was really really gross and I had to hold my breath. When I came out, the cashier followed me outside and told me that the reason that I was waiting so long to get in the lady's room was because their female co-worker was in there "dodging work and talking on her cell phone". He apologized and said that he felt that it was wrong that she does this when there are customers waiting to use the bathroom. This is wrong! If you want to talk on your cell phone, do it outside like the rest of us. And if she's dodging work, find people who want to work to replace her. read more
