Long wait time for the food. Wouldn't be so bad, if the fries weren't cold!! Ended up just throwing them out....

This place has no seating. The inside is small and probably has standing room for 4 persons before shoulders rubbing. I got a shawarma since it was the first item on the menu. It was good. The wrap is chewy and crispy. Lots of veggies in it. Meat was tasty and in every bite. A bit too salty for me but I would have it again. read more

Ive seen their signage while passing .. The next day.. I was craving for Gyro and shawarma. It's very close by to my Brothers place. As I walked inside, the place was packed with people.. It's a tiny place mostly for to go orders but they have few chairs and a corner table. The staff was kinda friendly. The service came too slow on me because they have a lot of orders and orders for pick up.. I tried the beef gyro combo for $7.00 with everything on it on a pita wrap. It was indeed comparable to my fave lamb gyro in NYC.. Very tasty and filling. A must try. Next I ordered chicken shawarma it taste ok but I preferred the beef gyro. I ordered another 2 beef gyro while I waited inside my car.. The staff was friendly enough to find me in my car and delivered my orders. I was greatly satisfied and I enjoyed eating their gyros.. A place I would try again when I'm up Kitchener Ontario. read more

The best Shawarma in Kitchener! I've had better elsewhere, but if you are looking for Shawarma in Kitchener, this is the place. There was another Shawarma place here, but frankly I haven not noticed much of a change since the change. Highland Halal Shawarma keeps the menu pretty simple. Shawarmas are the big draw, but there are also Gyros, Falafels and Fresh Cut Fries. I am a big fan of the Full Flavour Shawarma, which has pickles, sauce and lots of chicken. The place is pretty small and it really is only set up for takeout (there are two stools for customers in the whole restaurant, and it can get pretty busy here). read more

This is hands down my husband and I's favorite shawarma place. Bonus points that its close to where we live. The price is good at roughly $11+tax for huge plate (its always enough for two meals for me). I always order the rice plate with extra garlic sauce and regular hot sauce. They recently hired some new employees and they skimp on the sauce sometimes but you can watch them making your plate so if you want more sauce you just have to ask politely and they'll be happy to add more! The chicken is perfectly seasoned, the rice is fluffy, and the salad is crisp. I don't how they make the garlic sauce, but its literally like crack to me and my husband, we love it SO much! As long as they are around, we will continue going to this place hands down. We've tried other places around thearea and they've all let us down except this place. The owner is super chill and even knows our order by memory because we go there so often hehe. You wont regret coming here! read more

Don't let the sign and size fool you. This Shawarma is addictive and incredible. I have been recommending this to everyone since I have had it. The workers are fast and friendly and serve quality. Hands down the BEST schwarma in the KW area!!! We always get the full flavour with hot and garlic. We ask for extra grilled as we like it a little more firm. Usually order two with the turnip and two without. Anything from this establishment is always put together with the customer in mind, so always very yummy! Not really any sit down available due to the waiting line. Fine by us - this is the kinda yummy food meant to be eaten in the comfort of your own home so you can "moan and groan" about how yummy it is. Gyros were good but the chicken shawarma plate was absolutely terrible. All the chicken was tiny little charred pieces, and the fries were a soggy, greasy, reheated mess... This is the best local Shwarma in Kitchener. The "restaurant" is a take out counter and looks like a hole on the wall in a struggling strip mall, but they are always busy for a good reason. It is a great place to Stop for a quick take out lunch -- but with the line up, it sometimes is not that quick. Regulars sometimes call in orders in advance to save time. read more

The garlic sauce is so magical, they can bottle it and sell it to make a fortune. After wrapping up the Pita they'll put it through a panini press to make the exterior extra crispy. Been eating here for years. The food is quite good as most will attest. The pricing however has gone from bad to worse with 3-4 price increases in 1 year. A Shawarma Plate with rice and a can of pop will now run you quite nearly $16 which is ridiculou and you get less chicken now too. Owner does not absorb any costs. There are a half dozen other Shawarma places that also have very good food and a plate and a Pop works out to $12 at all of them. Good falafels and gyros. Food quality does vary depending on who makes it and we also ask for half the sauces. Also they do not answer the phone from 5pm on if you call from a private number to place a pick up order. I have had shawarma in cities all over ontario and Highland Halal is by far the best ive had. The garlic sauce is second to none; I ALWAYS ask for extra. The chicken is so flavourful and there's plenty of it. The gyros are pretty run of the mill, had them once but i think they are just overshadowed by the shawarma. Falafal is also fantastic. Take out service is fast and friendly, and calling ahead from work and picking up is dangerously convenient. Not an eat-in establishment. Beautiful for what it is. A1! read more

This is likely the best shawarma in KW (although I have had better shawarma elsewhere in Canada). Good prices, good portions. Their fries are delicious, so I would take them over the rice when ordering a plate, but the rice is still good. The chicken shawarma itself is very good. read more
