Came here to grab an eighth and a bong. I didn't notice they didn't put the bowl piece of the bong I purchased in the bag until I got home. (It's a 20+ min drive). Made me come back to the store to get a "piece from a different bong" even though I saw the piece was on it when I bought it. Made me feel like it was my fault when she lost the bowl piece instead of their fault when they were the ones who packaged my order, which was also poorly wrapped with one tiny square of bubble wrap. Could have offered something in return for having to drive back and waste my time on something that was wrong because of them but no. Will not be coming back. read more

Great deals, helpful staff, clean environment. Line was a bit long but rolled smoothly. read more

I am a disabled veteran and retired soldier. I have been coming here for a long time. The reception is friendly and welcoming. The little glass room has a really nice selection. The Bud Tenders are well educated in their products. Every exchange is a respectful and pleasant experience. The establishment is clean, well facilitated, and a very positive experience. I recommend researching the weekly deals, vendor demonstrations, and special seasonal offers. read more

This place is great. Their employees are very knowledgeable and nice every time I go in. I've asked questions before and have had all my questions answered. Their selection is great with a lot of known brands and smaller brands. They have a wide selection of edibles, topicals, flower and concentrates. They have a daily special but Sundays is my favorite day with 20% off. I've really never had a problem when I go in and every time I've left happy. read more

Worst place to buy concentrated products. Since they changed the person in charge of ordering. How do you make a change and let it affect the flow of product? Extreme incompetence and inexperience. Sad.. they know me by name and was extremely loyal.. on a good note all the buds are still in full force. read more

Staff was very friendly and smooth process. They helped me pick the right items I needed. Highly recommend

Now this is my 5 . First line of defense is their front door. The security. The two times that I've been there I have encountered two different security officers . Out of those two times I only went in the dispensary once because the first time I went I had an expired ID and was not able to enter. And this shows me that they follow all laws, trust me at the time I wasn't too happy about it, but that was totally on me and I had to get over it and I did. My second visit on the same day later that evening with my current ID I encountered a different security officer who was just as nice as the first. Second line of defense when you walk in the door the gentleman behind the window seemed very crabby and not at all inviting not a smile not a welcome not a nothing so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he was having a rough day. Third person I encountered was the salesman or herbalist I don't know what you call them. Again I can't believe I don't remember his name. But he was very informative about where it came from the strain what it did he knew his stuff. And he was super eager and willing to share his knowledge with me. They had these amazing prices and deals I think they're everyday. I walked out of there with The Farmers eight 4.0 (was on sale), 10 piece bag of edibles CBD and 1.0 G OF WAX. My total cost was less than I expected to pay I was also given a pre-rolled as a perk because I had spent x amount of dollars I don't remember if that was given a discount on being the first time shopper. The location is pretty Central to be a little confusing to get into the parking lot but you can figure it out. I have been back there several times since but because I can't find my ID my boyfriend goes in for me LOL and always walks out with a great deal. read more

Great business hours - After 9pm on the Monterey Peninsula might as well be 3am so salute to them for staying open late enough for working folks. Budtenders - every single one of them I've talked to has been very friendly, knowledgeable and otherwise excited to be at work. Love them. Security - friendly door guard contracted from local company. It provides a lot nicer image than how the medical dispensary scene used to be, which was like being in a secret medical lab crossed with the Carter from New Jack City. These guys have it dialed in. The only caveat to the enjoyable vibe (for me) is the phone phobia once you arrive inside the sales room. While checking my notes for a previous item I liked, a man resembling Doofy from the Scary Movie franchise and wearing a much oversized hat, swung in from a backroom and barked at me to turn my phone off, before scolding the budtenders about keeping an eye out for this sort of riff raff. I've seen felony arrests play out with less vigor. To Doofy, if you're reading this, it's all good and I understand that there is a very, very good reason for the no phone policy. I am not secretly Jeff Sessions wearing a pothead costume to go do undercover surveillance at dispensaries, and you have nothing to fear from me. I will continue to enjoy your business and spend my money here. All in all, my preferred bud store on the Peninsula. Thank you guys. read more

Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to answer all of the questions I had and even gave us suggestions. Front desk acknowledge that it was my birthday and said happy birthday again as we were leaving. Very clean and organized establishment. Would highly recommend this place! read more

Every time I come to this store I'm greeted very well, they have a wide selection of anything that your looking for. I have to say a big thank you to Daniel for taking his time to explain anything I had a question on with making other recommendations. If you have any question he knows the answer to! So thank you Daniel! I absolutely recommend giving this place a visit, the staff are friendly, they have reasonable deals and a wide selection. read more

Not bad shop. Little expensive for the area and other shops around. They have flowers, prerolls, wax, cartridges, and edibles. It was a good experience and the staff made me want to go back. This is my vacation spot, so it's nice to now have a spot to return to. read more

This place is awesome! Came here right before closing ( which is really annoying for me to do, I know). And I can't say enough great things about these guys! The cute lady at the counter was awesome and so incredibly nice, we chatted for a bit. I was then let inside and waited in line for a bit but they had several people working so they were able to cycle through quite a few customers before I was helped. I got up to the counter and the gentleman that helped me knew his stuff. I know very little about strains and really anything with cannabis and he helped me and didn't make me feel like an idiot, which is actually really nice because it happens.. I asked for a pretty strong cartridge and he didn't just give me the strongest brand, he told about the different types they have and if it really was what I wanted. He put in the effort and i left really stoked on my trip! I use cannabis for my depression so I never actually LOVE going to a dispensary but they would be my usual spot if I lived here for sure solely based on their customer service. Go in and support these Guys! They deserve it! read more

I read one review where the person said the front desk people need to be nicer? What! If the front desk people were any nicer, they'd buy the weed for you lmfao. Everyone is super chill especially the girl that does super artistic eye makeup (I'm so bad with names) and they go out of their way to make sure you're satisfied with your purchase. They treat everyone with respect and I've never had an issue here, even when I got a bad Select cart, they replaced it with no questions asked. read more

Higher Level ROCKS!! the front desk personnel are really nice.. They don't rush you through to check-out.. and they welcome you when you enter. I am so grateful there is now a whole new crop of dispensaries so I have a better choice; and I choose to be treated nicely and be offered affordable pricing. Thank you, HIGHER LEVEL!! read more

I always liked Higher Level dispensary for it's wide selection and especially for it's competitive pricing; the 20% off total on Sundays has been especially welcome, and I see this comment among others. No surprise there. What did surprise me was discovering what I consider to be manipulative if not 'dishonest' pricing around their Sunday offering of a 20% discount on your entire purchase. I had bought a particular vape cartridge recently for Higher Level's 'regular' (weekday) price of $28.50. I liked this product and looked forward to buying two of this item on a recent Sunday (5/1/22). Lo and behold, the 20% discounted price was the same $28.50, rather than 22.80 (i.e., 80% of 28.50). So, with Higher Level, like many things, it's 'Buyer Beware' regarding pricing claims read more

I love professionalism in fun industries. This place knocks it out of the park. The displays are clean and organized. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The glass room has stunning products. I was overall floored. This being my first time shopping in a dispensary the bar has been set high high high!!! If they don't open a location in my county I will HAVE to skirt out here just for the experience. Thank you all for giving me an a+ WOW experience. read more

Always come here for great deals and promotions! Although there was recently an issue with a purchase in which I had to return for an exchange. The manager was instructed to assist my exchange momentarily before I walked to the atm but he decided to help two ladies instead and took at least 10 mins to help me. I completely understand helping customers and providing knowledge or whatever but this was so unnecessary and inconvenient he was then asked over the walk-in talkie 2 more times to help me and proceeded to take his sweet ass time with these ladies. He didn't apologize for wasting my time to flirt with these ladies and In regards to my purchase/exchange this was probably the 10th time I asked for a specific item/quantity and have been given the incorrect product/amount. Maybe the bud tender was being careless and thought I wouldn't mind getting something I didn't request because after all it is just weed and gets you high regardless. But that's not the case otherwise I wouldn't specify exactly what I wanted. read more

I have been a customer at HL for a bit and enjoy the variety of products that they offer. I refer friends and strangers alike as they have the best prices in town. This place had a great staff but needs to get some better brands with the disposables. Make sure you bring cash ATM charges 3.25 and I had to do it twice because one of the machines ran out of money. So spent 6.50 !! And they had no deals at all. Santa Cruz shops much better read more

I asked for a simple exception today and was told no. What wouldn't have cost them a dime costs me another hour of my time. Nothing to do with the nice bud tender just the wizard behind the green curtain. Find a way to say yes next time for loyal customers. read more

Have been going to this place for multiple years now. Great place, but I don't think I'll be going as much anymore. Their stock has not been exceeding my expectations and lack of assistance and forcing and pressuring to buy more expensive product is not really my thing. Every time I want a sativa thick batter they never have it and if they do, it's not something that is appealing. They're always having a sugar texture, which is not my thing and go through it way too quickly. Be looking at other places in the future.. not saying not to go to this place, but not for me I don't think anymore. read more

I HIGHLY (no pun intended) recommend this dispensary...the owner, Sal, dealt with a problem I had with my purchase within MINUTES online and resolved the situation. He did it with complete professionalism and courtesy...their prices are highly competitive and in some cases better than other local dispensaries...but the icing on the cake is that the owner takes a "hands-on" approach and really cares about his customers. I will remain a satisfied customer...and you will become one too when you visit Higher Level!!! read more

I rarely write reviews but I had to after the awesome customer service I got at Higher Level tonight. Marcel (Im pretty sure that was name!) who is a manager there, totally righted my wrong and was so so sweet. Knowledgeable, friendly staff and not pushy at all. I have had some not so super experiences at dispensaries, but never here. I always leave with what I need and everyone is so friendly and I always leave feeling appreciated. They have a wide selection of products, including local items at the best prices. If you are into edibles, they have one of the best selections in Monterey, hands down for the prices. They also have some of the best daily deals including 20% off everything on Sundays! Look no further for the best dispensary in Monterey county than Higher Level. read more

I stopped by when out of town. Just looking to get something small to last me through the day until I get back home. The security guard was a dick, the employees were dicks. I ended up leaving without buying anything and I went to Reef instead to get my meds which is what I highly recommend doing. Don't wast your time here. Go somewhere, ANYWHERE else. **EDIT** I do have to point out that the owner messaged me shortly after I posted this review and apologized for my experience and explained some things to me. He seemed to be very genuine and sincere which I greatly appreciated. Next time I am visiting the area I will give them another try. Thank you for reaching out to me, Sal. You obviously really care about and believe in your business. I hope to be back sooner than later read more

Every time I come in the bud tenders are super helpful and always have some great recommendations. I haven't had a bad experience here yet and everyone is always pretty nice for the most part. This used to be our go-to cannabis shop. They had great deals, and the staff was friendly. The last time we went, the security guard out front refused to scan my id because he was watching a conflict in the parking lot. He told me to "hang on, I'm going to watch this" and made me stand there while he watched the drama unfold. Two more employees came out, and they all began to talk about what was happening in the parking lot. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for them to scan me in. They are enforcing mandatory masks for their customers, and made a big deal that mine had a vent in it. Upon going inside, their employees had vents in their masks, and some employees had their masks hanging around their neck or under their nose. This used to be our favorite shop, but now we go somewhere that is more professional. read more
