I just had another great experience at Blue Mermaid Spa!…read more Having had Jane's amazing ultrasound facials, I decided to try microneedling. I was apprehensive -- I mean, who ilkes needles, right? -- but Jane patiently explained the whole process to me and that made me feel much more comfortable. After removing my makeup, Jane applied a numbing cream so that I would be more comfortable during the procedure. About 20 minutes later, she began the needling on my newly-numbed face. Jane uses the latest and greatest equipment, and she changes out the needling tips for every client -- not all spas do this, because it's expensive -- and that's one of the reasons why I trust Jane with my skin. While I wouldn't call the needling part exactly relaxing -- because it's a little jarring the first time -- the results were amazing. As she needled each section, she applied a serum product to absorb into the skin, and sent me home afterward with a deeply hydrating mask for use later that evening. My skin looked a tiny bit sunburned afterward -- I am very fair -- but it wasn't bad at all. The next morning, it looked amazing -- glowy and firm. I have great skin, and Jane's microneedling made it look even better. I highly recommend Jane and this treatment! I will be back for two more!

It seems that most customers were there for lash extensions or fills, which I cannot speak to but as far as tinting solid service. The tech said that my lashes were too sparsh and I must sleep on my left side because the lashes would not stay straight..Ummm no I sleep on my right side regularly..I may have slept on my left side the night before but that shouldn't affect how my lashes lay based on all my previous experiences. My lashes looked like random tree branches growing from my eyelids and they felt plasticky...didn't feel or look natural at all! There was no lash cleavage whatsoever. I gave 2 stars cause everyone was nice. I even left a $16 tip cause I wasn't coming back...I would never in my life pay the full price of $225!

It was the worst nail service I have ever had, and I've never been treated so blatantly rudely in my life. It was the day before my birthday. I was there with my 85-year-old mother.. We had an appointment. Walked in and nobody even looked up at us and literally just shooed us off to a chair. I told someone that I needed to pick a color for my nails. I came in knowing exactly what I wanted. I told the nail tech exactly what I wanted and they kept arguing with me that the tip part of the French manicure I wanted was too light. I told her that actually that is what I wanted. I wanted it to be barely visible and actually I wanted it to be a cat eye on the tip as something special but I WANTED it super light. After arguing with me for a while, I convinced them to just let me try it because that's what I wanted. I helped my mother pick out the color that she wanted on her toes. Pink.. I helped her pick out pink. No one ever asked me my name what type of service I wanted or introduced themselves they just grabbed my hand and toes and started grinding off what was already on there. I had to ask the tech myself what their name was and attempt to exchange some sort of pleasantries by introducing myself. Literally halfway through the service I asked if they were ever gonna show us a menu so we could tell them what kind of service we wanted. It was the begrudgingly given They then started talking about how literally everything was going to be an add-on. I know that other nail salons do this but they also do basic nail care if you're having acrylic or a gel fill, but they wanted to charge a ton of money extra for literally everything over doubling the price of the fill. I just asked a few questions about clarification about what they would do and what they wouldn't. By then I had literally three people crowding over me looking at each other, rolling their eyes and literally laughing. It was beyond obvious they were talking about me because they were throwing in words like annoyed that I could pick up on between the Vietnamese and Chinese (in conversation I found the pedicure tech was from Vietnam and the front desk girl said she was from Canton) The salon itself had uncomfortable chairs. They offered us a drink then didn't bring it until we almost left while the front desk girl sat there with her back to everyone watching the screens, My mom was getting uncomfortable and so after a while of the three people just surrounding me obviously talking about me continued y, I finally I asked them to stop, not do any extras, just do the fills so we could get out of there. Their attempts to humiliate me got to the point to where I had to say out loud that they were making me feel very uncomfortable at this point and quite frankly, they were making me feel stupid. The girl who said that the Front Desk made a feeble attempt at an apology, but it was very feeble. Long story short, I finally glanced over and the guy had painted my mother's toes, bright red with gold glitter in them. I asked my mom what in the world had happened what happened to the pink and she just shrugged and she had no idea but that she didn't want to cause any more chaos. She also just wanted to get out of there.. I closed my eyes fora few seconds , and when I opened them, they had painted the tips of my nails, the ugliest rust brown color that I have ever seen. It had nothing to do with the color that we argued over and I picked out. We just wanted to get out of there we got up to pay. We asked for the 15% discount for a new customer and still the bill that they wanted us to pay was over $400. I will say that they did try and give me a very stale cupcake where the icing tasted like a cardboard box that had been left in the rain. I had to throw it out the minute I got out of there. My mother paid for it because our Mani. Pedi was supposed to be part of my birthday gift. I will say that the guy who did my toes named Kai I think tried to salvage the appointment because I talked to him about the fact that I used to live in Hong Kong and he tried to talk about Hong Kong with me I think underlying he's a nice guy. BYW, my thumbnail broke completely off before the end of the day so I have to go get that repaired. I am spending the afternoon on my actual birthday doing something that I didn't want to do. Pay to my nails redone because they are literally so ugly. I am embarrassed.. I'm not a crazy Karen. I'm a normal calm person who was usually nice to everyone.. I have no idea what sparked them being so rude and how literally everything could go so badly, but it did. Would you pay $400 for that? Safe to say I will drive around the block in the future just to avoid driving past this place. I am still barely able to wrap my head around it all.
