I was searching for something on Yelp and came across the page for Hickory Baked Ham Company. I'd…read morenever heard of it. I usually buy a bone-in spiral sliced glazed half ham every 3 or 4 months from another company that is a national chain (with a similar sounding name) and thought I'd try something new. Wow! I'm glad I did! This is some REALLY tasty ham! This is a small place - more of a warehouse with a small storefront. I didn't know what to expect before I drove over, so I called and asked about availability for a half ham in the 7-8 lb range. The person I spoke with asked when I wanted to pick it up. I was nearby so I asked if I could pick it up in 15-20 minutes. It was ready when I got there. I had a little trouble finding them, though. The building they're in is on the corner of Castleton Dr and Commerce Ct. Their address is on Commerce, but their signage on the building faces Castleton (and I didn't see it while trying to navigate there). I called them again and they guided me in. Anyway, this is some fantastic ham and I will definitely be back to buy another! I'm attaching their price list. They also have bacon, sausage, ribs, etc. I also tried some bacon, which was also good, but the ham is the standout! This is a great local place, which I'm always very happy to support. Tip: It's just me and The Hubs, but I always buy a bone-in half ham around 7-8 pounds. When I get home, I break it down and wrap slices for the freezer in 10-12 oz packages so we can have a little at a time. I also wrap the bone and the unsliced sections of ham together for a soup-making kit later down the road.

Ecclesia has over gone a lot of changes since I visited earlier this year, so make sure to be open minded when you visit! First, the book shop *squeel* Adorable! Quaint, cute, decent selection, good children's section and they feature local authors. Support your local bookstores!!! They are wonderful. If you didn't know, this is a mini-food hall of sorts. There are several food vendors: a Bar at the top, a restaurant I've yet to visit alongside it, as well as several spots to eat downstairs. Downstairs they have : - A bagel spot (get there early for the best selection and don't be disappointed if they run out- that's what it means to have fresh baked daily!) - A great BBQ spot (this is coming from a KC native and BBQ critic!) - Apres coffee - a cute coffee shop with alternative milks and Italian sodas options. - A stuffed pita restaurant (I'm sorry I don't know the name!) - Gluttony and Graze, for salads and gourmet hot dogs and burgers - And don't sleep on the cute little kiosk to order Mexican food! I didn't get a chance to check it out, but it's next on my list to try! Though, please note all of these places have different operating hours - though you're mostly safe Wed-Sun. Either call ahead or be open minded when you come in, just in case! Overall, highly recommended. People sleep on it because the outside is unassuming, but you have to try it at least once!

Plus the DJ was a crowd pleaser. We're so grateful for Michaela and the staff at Ecclesia for making this event so special. We hope to make a return trip in the future!
