Bought some swimming trunks and a pair of flip flops. It's a nice, clean shop- albeit a little overpriced. We were definitely followed around throughout our shopping experience, so they must have lots of loss-prevention issues. But overall had a decent shopping experience. read more

Had the pleasure of shopping at @hightidesurfshops located off of coastal Tybee Georgia! They have A large selection of board Rentals, an even larger BOARD ROOM with all the top brands! Great apparel selection and the best part is their team! I was assisted by the 3 ladies there tonight and all of them were top notch! Customer service stood out and made a visitor feel like a local! Mad love to the entire team over there! Bummed I didn't get to meet shop dog Otis but he was probably off jumping the mayor with his loveable smooshy face! Aloha! read more

Frequently I drive from Atlanta to Tybee because we love Hightide Surfshop where we get the coolest clothing , we wear all their brand names and Hightide has the latest designs ,and prices are fear, is quality and fashion there. Lucy is so sweet and always kind with us and our kids. She's so silly too. They work hard to keep a great store full of items ready for me , all over is organized ,neat, and their customer service is wonderful. Anyone writing a negative review is ignoring their effort , opening 7 days a week long hours. And trying their best to help each customer. Million of stars with all my love to My favorite store!! Been going to high tide for over a year and a half and the staff is super friendly , you won't find friendlier staff at any other surf shop in the area. They have everything you might need for the beach including a huge selection of skimboards and surfboards ! They have something there for everybody! Definitely stop by next time you're on the island ! read more

The customer service was outstanding and the young woman who helped us (I didn't get her name!) was very friendly and so knowledgeable. She went beyond our expectations! We had not been to the store in a while as we live out of town, and these new owners have added a whole new space upstairs devoted to high quality surfboards and skimboards. The swim wear, clothing, and accessories are all top quality, as usual. We'll be back on our next trip to Tybee! read more

I read the other reviews and was shocked. My experience was totally different - I think they must be under new ownership. There was an older man and younger woman behind the counter. Both were really nice. Good, wide selection of clothes and brands. Best shopping on Tybee for sure. read more

You wait all year for hurricane season to surf the best waves and what do you know??? This surf shop says "closed till storm passes". My wife and I flew from Tampa to avoid hurricane Irma and catch some great east coast surf action and this place shuts its doors 48 hours before the storm that's not even gonna hit this area. Lame. read more

This place is a joke. My wife was trying on bathing suits. My kids and was just standing around waiting. The old lady was watching us like we were stealing everything in the place. Then had the audacity to come over and ask us what we were doing. I wouldn't spend $1 in this place. read more

Another rude bunch on tybee! I am a local and everytime I have been to this waaaay over priced shack I have been watched like a hawk for fear of theft. I cannot just shop at peace here. I also was "corrected" on the use of their beach attire while talking to my mother. The minimum wage help decided it appropriate to "correct" me twice on the beach cover ups saying they were dresses.... Whatever lady I just want to shop without your opinion until solicited. I don't think I will spend my well earned local money where the staff is rude and watchful that I will steal there goods. Tybee needs to get with it and realize customer service is their only economy! read more

RUDE WOMAN KICKED MY FRIEND OUT OF HERE TODAY just because he was "looking" and "shopping" and not ready to buy. When he told her this, she told him to leave. This is ludicrous. He has been buying skateboard parts for the last 5 years here, but never again due to the rude service. And let it be known, my friend is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and deserves much better service than this! He has had a recent spinal surgery and has been feeling well enough to get back to doing the things that he loves, but it will not be at this store. Waves Surf Shop may not carry exactly what he was looking for today, but he will receive a heck of a better customer service experience in there than at this shabby place. Shame on you High Tide. Ask for Tim - this is a "real surf shop" with experienced surfers, SUP guys and kite boarders!! Don't expect Waves crap or prices. Tim will give you advice from his years of experience on all the various pieces of equipment in his shop. He's a fine waterman and will not steer you wrong. read more

I stopped in for a last minut bathing suit. I was surprised with the amount of stuff they had and the people were very nice. I can't bring myself to shop at the chainy beach stores like "Waves" that tend to put the nice little family owned surf shops like this one out of business. read more

The most rude I've ever been treated.....went in to buy all new hardware for my deck. Trucks, wheels, Berings. Grit tape, the works..... Pushing $200.00 easy. When asked if I could be helped? I replied "just looking right now." And was promptly asked to leave....leave? Horrible service...they thought I was a catalog salesperson and refused to let me try on swimsuits. It was incredibly embarrassing. I just wanted a swim suit while i was down here with my husband. They didnt try to resolve it, and now j know what pretty woman feels like. read more

This has always been my go-to beach shop when vacationing on Tybee. I have never experienced any rudeness from the staff in all of my years. They carry quality clothing that last so much longer than the less expensive ones you find at other shops. If you want better quality clothing and souvenirs (along with great surfing gear, etc), this is the place to go! read more
