Was terrified to have to even look up "transmission repair shop". . Yelp led me to High Tech Transmission. When the conversation led to transmission, solenoids and computers, followed with 'electric' I prepared for the worst. While I was still terrified at the possibilities (think BOHICA), the staff on site was very thorough and professional, explaining things to me that I never cared to understand regarding current standards in transmissions, and how computers have made nothing simple. I had my clutch go out in my 2004 mazda 6,something I could not handle. I checked out what should be an average price for repair. high tech was right where I expected ,much better than some other shops in town.they told me about some other issues I had known about and I agreed to have them repaired. the only complaint I have is that I told them to make sure to replace the Reservoir Tank on my master clylinder as the cap stripped the plastic threads,they did not so now I will have to do it myself. not to big a deal,however it shoud have been done then. the work they did is excellent so far,about 3 months the clutch is working better than when I first bought it, I am learning it is best to write down what is to be done to avoid any confusion or omissions. read more

My Car was on its last leg. The mechanics Gerald and JD reviewed the car and gave me choices to save the vehicle. Since my son is in college the car must be dependable. The mechanics are very knowledgeable about transmissions and computer systems. I drove my Hummer H3 from Bakersfield, CA to San Antonio, TX when the transmission decided to go out. I was quoted a price that was way out of my price range, but Gerald was able to work with us and cut us a deal; seeing that I was from out of State and on vacation. The mechanics from High Tech Transmission rebuilt my transmission and had my car ready in 4 days; they were nice enough to move their others customers back to get us on our way. Two visits here in as many years, both time referred by our friends at The Dealer Alternative (free plug for them!). The staff are super cool and will listen to you attentively by phone and in person. First visit was for an automatic transmission flush in a car that had around 180,000 miles. The price was fair and there was no push for additional services. Second visit, I arrived at 7:20 am to drop the keys in the night-dropbox and they were already there (despite not opening till 8 am). When they called to give us the bad news, they broke it to us gently and fully explaining the problem, cost to repair, and risk of not repairing. ZERO pressure. NONE! Unfortunately, the price of repair exceeded the value of the 10-year-old car (now with 214,000 miles) so we opted to forego the repair and get rid of the car. These guys are the real deal: honest, friendly, and high quality. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. read more

Good service affordable price for fuild change on my Honda E. Service was quick... this was done over a year ago and I've got no issues ever. Why did I change it? It was part of Honda's recommended maintenance at 100K miles. I choose Hi-Tech over a dealer because there cost was better, all they do is transmissions, and they used OEM Honda Transmission Fluid. read more

My transmission failed in Fort Stockton, after 47,000 miles. Still within the warranty High Tech put on their work. Much to my dismay, I discovered their warranty is only good in their shop. So....if you have a transmission failure while on vacation, or away from San Antonio on business. YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN! For a little more...go to a dealer, and get a warranty that's good anywhere in the country. You won't regret it. I had spent $2600 with High Tech, then $3200 with the Chevy dealer in Ft. Stockton. When I got back to San Antonio, High Tech gave me a check for $616. Some warranty! Stay away from High Tech. read more
