I go here mostly for beer. They have one of the better deals around for Miller High Life at $23.99 for a 30 rack of cans and around $15 for an 18 of the bottles. The prices on whiskey and bourbon aren't terrible either. In general they have a large selection of wine and spirits but I don't know much about the prices on that. read more

Great store for craft beer. A nicely curated selection with a very good number of interesting beers, as well as the old standards. If you are looking for beer that tastes like french toast, you'll find it here. Their selection of fruited sours and ales and hard to find stouts is second to none. The prices here aren't cheap but that's to be expected in Providence next to a Wholefoods. The staff is remarkable and really friendly. They are knowledgeable about the products and are happy to chat about craft beers, wines and liquor without being pushy. Chances are if you need a celebratory bottle of wine or liquor, they'll have something for you. But don't expect to find allocated bourbons or anything very hard to find from a wine standpoint. Their lower-priced wine is interesting and they have a small selection but good choices. As for cordials, vermouth and mixers ... very good variety. If your wallet can stand it, there's really no reason to go elsewhere for craft beer in RI. Pro tip ... they also have a wall of vintage beers that would make fantastic and rare gifts. read more

This is a great neighborhood liquor store conveniently located in a shopping plaza that offers plenty of parking. I went in to get some "necessary supplies" during our mandated stay at home orders and found the staff to be friendly and helpful even under the uncertain conditions of having to be open during a global pandemic. The store was super clean and everything was clearly labeled and organized so I could stock up on essentials. I got everything from the latest White Claw variety pack, to some local ciders and beers, plus was able to restock our home bar with staples like our favorite vodka, rum, and mixers. They even take Apple Pay so I didn't have to get my wallet out to exchange cash or cards. It was a very easy process and quick transaction. Thank you to you and your staff for serving our community. Decent selections of wine beer and liquor but the store itself if very small and can get crowded which was concerning especially during COVID. Convenient location right next to Whole Foods. They had a great assortment of pumpkin beer for the Fall. Highly recommend the UFO pumpkin. Staff is fine. Parking is lot but can be a bit of a cluster with WF right next door. Despite the name, I would say their main focus is beer. The prices are moderate: maybe a bit higher than some other stores in the area, but still not ridiculously overpriced. The staff is super nice over here! They love animals and give my dog treats whenever we come in together. They have a great selection of wine, beer, and liquor, and others. I have spent a lot of time browsing in this shop since my spouse is a huge beer nerd (this is said with love!) and I look around while he picks things out from the extensive selection of single bottles of beer. There's a wide selection of single beers on the shelving at the back of the store near the coolers that are well stocked with 6-packs/larger quantities. You will find a range of locally made beers, Trappist beers (beer brewed by Trappist monks), and a lot, lot more. There's a nice wine selection, including at least a couple dozen roses, and full range of liquors. The liquors are competitively priced best I can tell. I've never been unhappy with wine we have gotten there and it's helpful that they have a few coolers from which you can get already chilled wine. Over the past 3 or so years going here the staff has always been pleasant and professional. It seems like it could be a challenging place to work sometimes so I especially appreciate them being measured yet friendly. They are also good about making sure glass bottles are properly packed when bagging. If you are picking up something from Staples or Whole Foods this is a pretty ideal location. Otherwise, it's decently convenient location with the benefit of plenty of parking, which I presume is pretty secure since I regularly see a roving security guard or two that seem to be overseeing order in the mini-mall. read more

Given the proximity to the house, High Spirits is usually a go to place for beer/liquor/wine. However there are other places in the area but definitely the service and selection keeps bringing me back to High Spirits. The service isn't in your face but they are more than willing to help you out with a selection. Most liquor stores I go into it is usually a depressed, old, unshaven fat guy behind the counter who is just there to take your money. That is not the case at HS. As Hilary mentioned, the selection of craft beers is quite nice and can't go wrong with the prices, especially on the inexpensive wine selection. Back where I'm from, when people say "Liquors" they mean liquors. That's it and that's all. So imagine my surprise, nay, delight, when I walked into High Spirits on Friday. Without sounding like a certain SNL character... "this place has everything." Local Beer. International Beer. Craft Beer. Good Wines. Other Wines. Liquor. Even lotto tickets! One of the cooler things about this place is that you can do a "pick six" on loose beer cans/bottles, including craft and local beers. It's an awesome way to sample beers from all over. I was really impressed with how many different beers they have (and from so many countries). Unlike some of the reviews on here, I found the service to be fine. I was greeted and offered assistance upon entry. And, when I told the staff that I was waiting for a friend - to help me decide on what to get - they politely left me alone. Even though I think they could do a bit better on the prices of some of their wines, and they could have a fewwwwww more items on sale, it's great to have such a wide variety of alcoholic beverages in my local shopping plaza. The parking lot is down right scary with homeless people wondering around like Zombies banging on car windows for loose change. Inside the store is a shit show of drunk Zombies. The management I dealt with when picking up and dropping off my keg was very rude. They made the whole experience a big headache. I suggest never picking up a keg from here they are never getting my business again. Great location--right next to Whole Foods--and prices are reasonable too (perhaps despite it's location...?)! They carry some nice craft beers in their room-temperature shelving (Maine Brewing Co., Allagash, etc...) and recently started a mix-a-six option. Their staff are friendly and helpful, but don't badger you either. Big fans of High Spirits! The store is very convenient being right near Whole Foods. the prices are very reasonable ($8.50 for Brother Theolonius and $43 for Glenmorangie Quinta Ruben). For what appears to be a small store, the selection is fantastic, with some craft brews that you don't see in many other stores. HIgh Spirits has become one of my new go-to stores to purchase beer now that I have moved to Pawtucket. It still has not topped by favorite store in Providence, but it is right up there in terms of selection and service. They do a mix a six which is always a plus and their craft beer selection is pretty excellent. It doesn't seem to be quite as organized as my favorite liquor stores in the area but it will do. Prices are on par with other liquor stores in RI. I will continue to purchase my alcoholic bevies here if I am in the area but it would be cool if they could start a frequent buyer program like the other store I frequent. Just sayin.... HIgh Spirits has a good emphasis on craft and local brews, which is awesome. I love their beer of the month program, which offers a discounted price on a select craft beer every month. Checking out is usually a breeze as they frequently have more than one register open. This is key, as the store gets busy in this high traffic location right next to Whole Foods. I've also found some beers here that I haven't been able to find at other stores in the area. I'm a fan, which is good because it is more convenient to get here than my other favorite store. read more

Having just moved to the Eastside a few months ago, we have been searching for that go-to liquor store for our imbibing needs. Finally, we stumbled upon High Spirits. Our boozie tastes and their awesome selection were a match made in heaven! The prices are spot on and less than other places. I lean toward spirits and my husband toward brews and they have a great selection of both. Tons of microbrews, local and abroad, and they even have a beer special every month. The staff is friendly and super knowledgeable about their product (how could you blame them) and they even helped me carry a larger purchase to my car. Also, although we don't normally shop at Whole Foods, the location is convenient if we need to run in and grab a thing or two. All in all, this is our favorite local liquor store, so much so that my husband will drive past several unnamed stores to shop here! read more

Agree with C.A. that this is the best beer store in Providence, which is to say if you can't get up to Yankee Spirits in South Attleboro (with its mind-bogglingly huge array of micros and crafts) then this is the place. Staff is hip and friendly (they remind me of a record store staff in the best possible way!) beer is plentiful whether chilled or bombers or imports; and priced right. They recently started making it really easy to grab a single from an obscure craft beer six-pack you may have always wanted to try, and they don't gouge you to do it. All hail! read more

They actually have a very large selection of great vodkas here and many other liquors which I think are very difficult to find sometimes. Despite the lack of decor or publicity, I have come here more frequently than not for the well priced wine, good selection of beer and friendly staff. I am a sucker for "expert" opinions and there are a great deal of alcoholic beverages labeled with the appropriate recommendations have never steered me astray and I've been quite happy with the prices as well. He wanted me to come in with my statement - just a jerk of a guy. They have ok liquor but save yourself some money and go to Yankee Spirits or the Gasbaros across from Emerald Square Mall.
