We started this project by filling out a need request here on Yelp. That produced five (5)…read moreestimates from local companies. Of the 5, Pyramid was the lowest estimate and since this was a mandated project from our insurance company and it's an investment property, price was my primary concern. But, they weren't just the lowest, they were the lowest by 20%. Next, they did a great job of explaining things that were new to me or things I wasn't expecting. An example of it is paperwork for the city of Chico. They took care of both permits and the addition documents the city requires. On the start day of the project, they were both on time and ready to jump right in. While I was chatting with Jorge, they almost had the old shingles off the roof. No, they weren't that fast, but it sure felt that way. In fact, Jorge advised that it would take 4 days, yet they were finished in 3. After they had the roof stripped of the old shingles, they found several spots where additional remediation was required including under the roof. They fixed those nicely but didn't charge an exorbitant additional costs. In the end, I'm exceptionally pleased with the result and cost. If you have roofing needs in the Chico area, you should go with Pyramid Roofing.

The only downside was communication. Since we received the quote through our realtor, we weren't on-site during the initial assessment to discuss issues and preferences directly with the roofer. A kick-off meeting or call would have been helpful to go over our options, ask questions, and get a better sense of the timeline. We were always playing catch-up with questions and requests because we got a days' notice for tear off (which is understandable with winter weather of course). Additionally, there were a couple of instances where the crew arrived without prior notice, and it was just luck that someone was home to put the dogs away. Despite the communication, the quality of work was excellent, and they addressed every concern we had. We'd recommend Sunrise Roofing to others, but if you have unique issues like we had, we'd also suggest being proactive in setting up a conversation about expectations after you receive the quote, and before the project begins.

I'm guessing they got rid of our paperwork in case black mold or other issues arose due to the water getting in. Be very very careful when dealing with this company.
