I wish i did not rely on a mutual friend to introduce us to this criminal. He designed a beautiful backyard with pool/hot tub, pergola, cooking island and paver placement with accent lighting and plantings. He befriended us like a true sociopath, inviting us to his daughter's christening, multiple meals shared together, plans to go to shows... We paid him half up front because he said he needed the money to buy the pool mechanicals before the competition which was heightened due to covid. He was very convincing and reassuring all the while in the beginning, even promising completion by memorial day (This was february 2021). Then the lies started. And they never stopped. To this day (late November), the job is maybe 20%-30% done and he is still lying about just about everything. He never even started anything until almost june besides dumping pavers in our yard (most of which remain an eyesore for our neighborhood). Even his workers early on recommended "keeping on" him. Then workers drive a huge truck down and park it. Then leave. that was the week's worth of work. Next week, they finally show up, work for maybe 2 or 3 hours and disappear for the week. Next week, same thing, if we are LUCKY! most weeks zero accomplished. All along the way, promises. Broken ones. "Guys were on the way down and got stuck at a gas station where a filling nozzle broke and got gas on the truck, had to wait for police". "Guys on way, got stuck in traffic and turned back." "Entire crew sidelined by covid shot side effects." (shot given on Sunday? To whole crew?). "Pipes loaded onto truck, on way, turned back due to pipes being wrong size." (No pipes delivered to date). "Got pulled over on way." Many other days when workers supposed to work and no show with no excuse, not even these BS ones we had become used to. One day, he promised a full work day with him present with his men. He shows up around 3pm, alone, walks the site with us and leaves to get a drill bit at home depot, never to return. He has been on site perhaps an hour or 2 in the past 8 months. His men show up without direction and waste what little time they are there. I had to be the one to explain to them the kitchen island was a foot and a half too short to include the items we wanted, which we had to buy ourselves. He promised to help with the price on these items with his contractor discount which turned out to be ZERO. We got a substantially better price on our own. We have been trying to get him to order some gas torches he was supposed to install for months, he keeps pushing that responsibility to his wife, who has done nothing to get that part going. We had renters scheduled to take the house for 2 weeks in july and he promised multiple times the job would be complete by then, obviously another lie. we are currently left with trenches and holes all over the yard, the pool/hot tub combo is a tangle of rebar which is dangerous and ugly (and untouched since july). He says he cant find an electrician for the next step, (his got covid, believe that?) so we found one. We were putting in a boat lift at the same time which he said he would run the electric and a hose out to it, then completely denied any knowledge of it, so we hired an electrician to perform that work. We had to pay him seperately to at least get the boat lift done. he promised to use him for his work to get the project going and immediately stopped taking his calls. Basically, the little work he has done is what his own unskilled workers can do for the most part, it is clear his subcontractors are nonexistant. I began inquiring about him to others in the business. To say the least, he has a horrible reputation among them. My pool guy at our other house said he got involved with him in the past and it was a disaster, he would never work with him again. Another contractor was surprised he was still working and left it at that. i am sure we are screwed out of an embarrassingly large sum of money, but we have initiated legal action to get back what we can. Even today, after getting the lawyer letter, he is promising to complete the work. If, by the grace of God he were to do that, I would retract this review but given his record of lies, dont count on that. Take my advise, do not give this man a dollar if you expect to see anything of it again. He is the epitome of the nightmare contractor and should be in jail. Sometimes the devil smiles the brightest. DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN OR ANYONE ASSOCIATED WITH HIM!!!! read more

Dont buy firewood from High Grove. They dumped a cord of rotted and random dud shaped wood. About 75% of cord is misshaped and rotted, I cant use this in my fireplace. Reading other reviews as I write this, seems par for the course with this guy. Shady. read more

Stay away! Under NO circumstances, hire Jason Fragomini from highgrove landscaping. You will hear endless excuses of why the job cant start on time and why workers cant show up to complete. Everything he says is a LIE. Work is sloppy and amaturish at best and nothing to code. You would be better off hiring day labors you find anywhere. Doesnt know what he is doing and doesnt keep track of the workers if they show up. Shrubs and plants not even planted all the way in the ground. NO knowledge of the business. If You Are Looking For..... A dependable, honest paving contractor, you best look elsewhere! I spoke with Jason, the business owner, several weeks ago concerning his filling some cracks in my driveway and seal coating it. The work was to be performed the week of Monday, July 9. I spoke with him one week prior to confirm that the work was scheduled to be performed. He told me, at that time, I was on the schedule for either Monday or Tuesday. The work was to be done that week because I was on vacation, and the cars could not pull in and out of the driveway until the driveway was dry. I spoke with him again on Friday prior, and he said all was good. I left for vacation confident that the work would be completed before I returned and the driveway would be dry by Friday noontime. Monday evening I checked with him to see if the work was completed. He told me it was not and it would be done Tuesday. Tuesday, he told me that it was raining and could not do it, but he assured me "110%" that it would be done Wednesday. I checked with a neighbor Tuesday evening and she told be that it looked like it might rain, but never did! She told me Wednesday evening that the work had not been done. Jason told me it would be done Thursday and be dry for Friday. Thursday he gave me another excuse about an equipment breakdown. I told him, at that point, to get lost and we were done. This is the bottom line people. Jason does not tell the truth, he is slow to return texts and phone calls. He is undependable. He lives 2 houses down from me and I thought that being a neighbor, he would treat me with respect, honesty and consideration. Those words appear to be absent from his business vocabulary. We hired HighGrove to do an extensive outdoor landscape lighting project for our home...front and back yard. The project was quoted at almost $13.000. Jason took a $6000.00 deposit from us in October 2017 and after he took our money he never showed up to do any work, he wouldn't answer our phone calls anymore, and he wouldn't respond to texts anymore. As of 5/2018 we have continually tried to recoup our money (we were granted a judgement against him through Special Civil Court) but have not been able to collect since he keeps closing his bank accounts before the court officer can freeze his accounts. Since then I have been able to find out that he has about 20 judgements against him from parties ranging from private people (customers like us), to landscape supply businesses, to his car/truck leasing companies...he somehow has managed to keep scamming people over and over!! Hired Jason to do some work on our yard. He was going to replace some cracked stone steps that were limestone with blue stone. The old ones were cut incorrectly for the railing posts. He installed the new ones with the same incorrect cuts. To his credit he replaced the stones with new ones at his cost, but he ended up charging me more per step than he originally told me. Lesson 1: Get it in writing. Then things got really weird. We had a number of trees that were dead, dying and threatening the house. He gave us a fair price for removal. However, it turns out he is not a tree guy and subcontracted the job out. He lied to us when we had asked him about this at first. He asked for a deposit, which we gave him. The plan was for him to remove the trees from the property and bring us 2 cords of wood. This other company comes to the house, cuts down the trees and leaves most of the wood in the yard and in our neighbor's yard. Then he disappears for a very long time. Excuse after excuse for not removing the wood. The sub comes around looking to get paid? I explained my dealing was with Jason and he did not complete the job nor deliver firewood as planned. He did not know that I had already given Jason a large deposit. I gave Jason multiple chances to correct the situation. I had previously used him for firewood and had recommended him to family for some work as well. I ended up having to hire someone else to remove a large amount of wood which took a crew days to finish. I was willing to pay Jason the balance less my cost of removal if he delivered the wood, but he stopped corresponding. read more
