My son rented here for summer rental storage. We were told they prorated, but that's not true,…read moreonly if you leave within the first 7 days of the month. They also require you buy insurance. You must sign that they can enter your unit without permission. When we arrived less than 3 months after placing stuff in storage, imagine our surprise to find the walls moldy and 3 inches on water in the unit. We got the manager and she stated that they wondered if water got in our unit from the one next door that had a gaping hole in the roof. i asked for the final month rent to be returned and i was refused. i asked for the refund to help offset the 100 deductible. i filed a complaint with bbb, it took them 7 months to respond with a flat out refusal. note... They knew about the hole in the roof and did nothing. They rented the unit, collected the cash and did nothing more. They didn't enter the unit to see if water had leaked through the wall, nor did they call us. completely negligent. They did however offer to store or ruined items for the insurance company to inspect for an added fee. We even advised the insurance company of their negligence, complete with pictures. If i had time I'd be going to small claims court. i suppose if you have ugly furniture you want to turn into cash and don't mind depreciation or fighting with insurance? this is the place for you. Otherwise, if you like your belongings this is not the place. And by the way, corporate piblic storage is just as lacking in standing behind their brand.

Although a waiver was signed, I paid nearly two thousand dollars over 10 months for my belongings to be stored safely. It wasn't until after my fourth request for a partial refund did I get an apology for my loss from the owner - accompanied by a flat out refusal to stand by their service and offer even a partial reimbursement of my rent. Lesson Learned.

I give it a 0 for honest disclosure of policies. What is a…read moreconsumer to do other than ask for the particulars- i.e. These questions were asked before the sale. Q.Can I cancel this without penalty? A. Oh- yes. You have 24 hours to cancel. Q. And I will get a refund? A. Yes-- you will be refunded the amount charged for a period up to 24 hours. The agent girl was pushy and brash- and in need of a Miss Manners course in honesty and dignity. I call one hour after the sale to cance. The young guy said this: Don't you worry mam- you will get a full refund. Truth is I was charged an administration fee of 29.99- Now what is a consumer to do when they ask the correct questions! So- the answer is no refund for an administration fee and that is final. Ignore the fact that I asked a straight- clear question and got a crooked answer. The rush job of this very poor customer service agent should be an embarrassment to her as an employee- unless they are taught not to disclose information even when the customer is thoughtful enough- careful enough to ask a simple question. And customer service does not provide service but short abrupt clear answers---- the answer are clear niw--- Now the plain and simple- understandable- reasonable question answered with a 'NO'------- You do not get a full refund, and that's final!!! I find it strange that truth is made plain and simple after they have been caught-can't lie now. Don't you? Too late consumer. You should have read the fine print. So- much for the spoken word! I have no tolerance for such practices. It could have been five bucks or ten bucks - it doesn't matter. This is wrong and they are calling it right. It's written in the fine print- Yes- after one asks- after one gives their CC number. Not good- I think the units are clean and convenient and they do have some excellent specials- but this incident of hidden information- after asking for specifics is nothing but disrespect- disregard for the consumer --that keeps them going strong- in business. -- It is a matter of principle- of proper business decorum - Oh well. It's not a lot of money. It's the lack of good business practices --- the nonsense that people who are pretty honest have to put up with. Oh well.

Some things were left downstairs on the first floor. Kayla moved my few garbage -wanting things back in my unit and put a new lock on. This is now a matter of legal principles and indicative of the poor customer service I have repeatingly gotten which included the elevator not working for weeks several times. I even offered to pay Kayla to remove the few things there, but she told me 'her dumpster is full'. I'm frustrated and will resolve this matter to my satisfaction legally and will not be treated in this manner.
