My family's experience with Quantum Prep has been nothing short of amazing. Their instructors are…read moresecond to none and are able to teach every subject at every grade level from middle school through college. My child was unable to attend high school almost her entire junior and senior years. Quantum Prep did not just teach my child the course materials and test prep, they motivated my child actually go above and beyond what was required. My child's work ethic, organizational and critical thinking skills, and self-confidence significantly improved under Quantum Prep's guidance. These skills have now transferred to post-high school life and I couldn't be happier.

He was my tutor for…read morethe better part of my sophomore year, tutoring me through the later part of Chemistry 101 and 102 at Boston University. I can honestly say without him, i don't know how I would of finished taking both courses. The lecturers and the TAs didn't communicate the material nearly as clearly and in a shorter time span as he did. He is clear and patient, and wants you to truly learn the material, not just get through a test or assignment. It is clear that he knows his material. Moreover he's very flexible with tutoring time and will take as much time and sessions needed until you understand the material. Being an athlete, my free is greatly limited, but he still found time to make sessions flexible to my schedule to his greatest ability. With my experience with him, if there were more teachers as clear and knowledgable as him, then class would be more clear and interesting and easier to follow. But in real-life situations, tutors such as Solomon are there to bridge the gap and help you succeed. I know I'll be using Quantum Tutoring in the future, especially as I get ready for MCATs, not to mention exams and tests.

Beyond teaching the material, he shared practical strategies to approach problems and succeed on test day. I was able to improve my SAT score from 1370 to 1540, something I couldn't have imagined before working with him. His teaching style is engaging, patient, and always tailored to your needs. If you're looking for an SAT tutor who genuinely cares about your success, Chris is the one to choose!   From mom: As a mom of six, I have used many tutors, and I cannot recommend Chris at Summit enough. When my son was paired with Chris, Chris immediately contacted me to explain his approach. We had a wonderful, unrushed conversation. Chris clearly communicated with me after each meeting. My son said that Chris not only helped him drastically improve his score from a 1370 to a 1540 but also helped him understand and appreciate math. Chris is incredibly competent but also incredibly kind. My son shared that Chris was always cheerful and avoided criticism but challenged him appropriately. My son said that he was one of the best teachers that he had had. Margaret who was our contact person at Summit was incredibly helpful and supportive. I cannot praise this company enough! My son will be attending Harvard in the fall. Summit helped make his dream a reality. We will be using Summit for our next five children. Thank you Margaret and Chris!

I called to try to get a refund or at least convert the sunken cost to one on one tutoring, but they said no. The most they would do was give me a $300 credit, but I would have to pay $200 to use it. I do not recommend this place.

It was clear from our first…read moreconversation that he has been working as a tutor for many years, and is familiar with many learning styles and approaches. As a working professional who has been out of school for some time, preparing to take the GMAT/GRE for graduate school has been a bit of a nightmare. I tried studying independently for a few months, with little success. I then signed up for an expensive group prep course, only to find that the material was covered far too fast, and the homework load was out of scale with my available time. I have had a few sessions with Zach so far, and each one has taught me more about how I learn, and what I need to learn. The one-on-one teaching scenario is exactly what I needed to not be overwhelmed. Each lesson is tailored to work with my own learning style and struggles. Zach has gone out of his way to check in with me between appointments, and create tools that will aid me in my independent studies. I feel more confident about my ability to cover the material needed for the test, and more importantly I feel more emotionally equipped to tackle the learning material that a few months ago felt out of reach. After seeing how Zach has adjusted his learning tactics to suit my specific needs, I feel confident that he would be able to do the same with other students. I would highly recommend Zach to anybody that is struggling with some aspect of their education: studying for a standardized test, catching up in an academic class, or anything else. I will write another review after I take the GMAT this fall!

Zach was patient and empathetic. He helped my son create a study plan that accommodated my son's many other academic and extra-curricular commitments. Zach has a responsive, adaptive tutoring method. He discovered my son's learning style and adapted his tutoring approach accordingly. My son's SAT scores improved substantially*. Even more importantly, he learned a number of strategic test-taking skills, which he reports have improved his performance on other school exams. *January 2012: 2080 (CR 680; Math 690; Writing 710; Essay Subscore 9; MC Subscore 70) March 2012: 2280 (CR 680; Math 800; Writing 800; Essay Subscore 11; MC Subscore 76)

Manhattan Prep is an amazing prep course for the GRE. I took an in person class with John Cho and…read morehave nothing but positive things to say about him and the course overall. John was extremely knowledgeable about the test, content, study strategies, tips/tricks etc. He was able to tailor the class to suit the needs of different students, and was always available for after class questions. In my first practice test I got a 161V and 156Q, so was fairly nervous about boosting my quant score to my target of 165. John not only helped me on my quant weak spots, but also was a positive voice throughout my studies and kept me optimistic. Studying for a big test can be pretty isolating - especially if you have no friends studying for something at the same time (..i.e. this was my experience) so it was incredibly helpful to have a class & instructor that kept me mentally motivated. The Manhattan materials (books, practice tests, online resources, 5lb book (!)) are also top notch and better than those I've seen from other prep courses. I ended up getting a 164V/166Q/5.5 & I'm not convinced I could have done it without this class. I maybe could have eventually, but you don't want to spend forever studying for a test when you (presumably) have apps to focus on. Take Manhattan with John! It's 110% worth it - will make your studying smarter, faster, and less stressful.

His sessions were well structured. We covered all content and strategy areas but he also offered helpful feedback on the ones I should prioritize based on his assessment of my strengths and weaknesses. I hit a wall in my studies about halfway through and struggled to maintain confidence that I could reach my test goals and, more specifically, improve my quant score. John was really supportive in a genuine way. He helped me reframe my thinking around my studies and adopt a new approach that worked better. I got V164/Q168 (this hugely exceeded my Q164 goal).
