The initial installation seemed very professional and worked as expected after the 16k investment. This is year 4 of the 12 year warranty period and we had to buy window air conditioners as the main compressor died and the main electrical board apparently. The communication with us is a 1 on the 10 scale is ONE as I was just told the parts haven't arrived with no explanation as to when. It's July folks, this is why we bought them. Of course labor costs are unknown and we would get rid of them if we hadn't spent so much. One year every condensation pan was leaking after the annual cleaning which they did address but this unreliability is frustrating and now expensive. The main installer has apparently left the company so that was a bad thing for us to hear. Would not recommend again. Always polite on the phone but comE ON on folks, I shouldn't have to keep calling. read more

Wow, hired these guys to come look at my split AC. I wasnt' home but my room mate was. According to my surveillance cameras they over charged me for a 1/2 hour, and their rate was $269.00/hour by the way. Then they didn't tell me what was wrong for that 1hr and 1/2 they were allegedly there. They just wanted me to buy a new heat and ac split which I didn't need. Then I called to question the bill, they did nothing. I requested a refund on 6 different phone calls and on every phone call they told me that they were sending it. The refund NEVER came. Why lie to me? Why do business like that ???? Don't use them unless you like throwing away money for NO service. read more

This company is so unprofessional. They do not give any upfront pricing....they came out 3 times and never resolved my issue...they replaced supposidly cheap parts, without my knowledge, consent or acceptance....(the parts replaced were parts they installed a year prior when they put in the brand new system....same technicians also). Came out 3 times to address my thermostat issue upstairs (thermostats running with downstairs thermostat)....each time telling me they fixed it. Credited me back the first $300 plus bill (received by email...never received quote )...second time...charged me $600+ to fix the upstairs thermostat and replace their supposedly shoddy parts....upstairs thermostat still not separated from downstairs thermostats....came back a third time to fix upstairs thermostat....nope, still running with downstairs thermostat. Billed another $300+....wanted to come back a 4th time.....I called (which I did every time they came) my bill is now over $900......for not fixing my thermostat upstairs and doing unauthorized work on my system. they wanted to come out again, I told them I didn't want their service and would not be paying for the service I didn't receive and didn't ask for. Ended up heating unused 2nd floor all winter. Two months lapsed and bills started coming in email and finally a Certified Letter demanding payment with threat of Collections and legal action. Their work ethic is non existent. The only reason I left one star was because I had to.....they even bully Yelp. read more

The most incompetent company I've ever worked with. Had them come clean our gas fireplaces and they broke a part on one of them and left it like that. Calling the office is a nightmare. Now they say the fireplaces need to be replaced even though they worked before they came to clean them. Not a trustworthy company at all. read more

This business is a total ripoff. I recently had my mini-split system serviced and was shocked by how they charge for service. The technician was here for 25 minutes. He commented on some of my heads that did not seem used. Later that day I received a bill for $450. I called them thinking this must be a mistake but they told me they have a "flat rate" for servicing a single system and a "flat rate" if you have additional systems. Last year the technician put ACTABS in the drain pan. This year the technician did not put anything in the drain pan. I would not recommend this company for installation or service. read more

Contacted High Efficiency for a deep cleaning of my mini-split units. They required my credit card to schedule the appointment. The tech who showed up was very knowledgeable but did not come prepared to perform any maintenance other than to clean my already clean filters. I was billed $250 for this "consult" and was told to schedule the actual cleaning for next spring. Did not return calls or respond to email. Terrible customer service once they've got your credit card on file. read more

Very good customer service, from the first phone call to final installation. Technician was on time, knowledgeable and professional. The project ended up taking a little extra time than quoted which was a little disappointing (this type of work does not come at an inexpensive rate) However everything is in good working order and I am very satisfied, I will absolutely call these folks again for my future HVAC needs. read more

I had High Efficiency perform a service call on my furnace. They require a credit card number to be held on file in order to do this. After two service calls and two invoices for parts and service they gave up and told me the furnace could not be repaired and had to be replaced. They overcharged for their time on my credit card on top of it all without getting my approval for the extra charge that they tacked on. Watch out for these guys or you will be paying for their tech to learn and you won't necessarily get your furnace fixed. read more

High-efficiency did a terrific job at my house this past summer & I feel terrible that it's taken me this long to post a review. I had a really terrible experience with a much bigger local company who after many tries couldn't figure out what was wrong with my Mitsubishi splits. I called high-efficiency and the owner came out personally to inspect our job and gave us an assessment of what needed to be done. Before any work was done a second person from the company showed up to determine if any of the work was covered under warranty... wow! That extra effort by high-efficiency save me $1500! Their technician Mike came out twice and he was phenomenal. He's a former Marine and helicopter mechanic and this guy really knows his stuff! They replaced the compressor and got my Mitsubishi split all back together and it's never worked better.... even when it was new! So glad to have such a great company in town to call upon when needed. read more

From the beginning of our adventure to the end, High Efficiency and every employee of the company were helpful, understanding and very competent. High Efficiency provided us with the best contract price for replacing our failing 30 year old gas boiler. It's hard to change old ways, however, Steve Wright patiently walked us through the new Lochinvar system, explained the advantages to this upgrade and spent a lot of time answering our questions. The price quote for parts and installation were $5000 less than another quote we had requested. Again, the manner in which Steve Wright explained our new system sold me on the fact that more cost is not always the BEST system. Once the contract was signed, the office staff took over and made the HEAT Loan paperwork process so easy. Within two weeks we were approved and had bank checks in hand. Work began quickly and we were amazed at the transformation and outstanding work performed by Chris and Josh. Total removal of the old system, disposal and installation only took 1 1/2 days. Outstanding job. My former career in the military always led me to evaluate a job performed by how the work area was left. Spotless! The town inspection completed without any flaws. This Company has some outstanding ambassadors working for them. We also were working very hard on reducing our utility usage and asked High Efficiency to perform that all important energy audit. Their findings were important to us and once again, they provided an excellent quote for additional insulation work that we had completed. The insulation work crew were also outstanding. They insulated two knee walls, our entire Attic, and our large cellar area. High Efficiency once again, helped us complete the paperwork for rebates and performed a large volume of work for a great price. The insulation process was done quickly and cleanup of every inch of the house they worked on, was perfect. I believe that great work ethic is displayed by good employees and every company worker that came to our home had a smile and a very friendly disposition.
