I am so impressed by this place! They should give customer service classes to other businesses lol. We only stopped here randomly as a midpoint moving from Denver to Las Vegas, but this place is so cozy and well cared for. The manager was very kind and accommodating. We were able to get our room keys even though we didn't get there until 2am. The room was very clean and comfortable. Some of the rooms are older and have wear and tear, but it's obviously very well care for. They have pet friendly rooms as well and a large parking area. We were able to park our giant 26 ft penske moving truck. There is an awesome coffee shop next door and a little grocer across the street. Everyone we ran into was so kind. It was such a huge relief to have a nice place to rest during a very stressful moving trip. read more

This absolutely is the cleanest and best maintained motel we have stayed in that also has pet friendly rooms. The staff at check-in, even late at night, are extremely friendly, price is decent, parking good, and overall area and motel are great. They even have a dog bed in the pet friendly rooms. Additionally, there is a middle and elementry school a few blocks away where you can walk your dogs. Overall, we had a great experience and stay here, and if you need somewhere nice to stay in this area, definitely stay here. read more

Decided to stop in to sleep before getting back on the road, High Desert Inn had the best reviews once I determined Salina to be an ideal place to stop. I was welcomed warmly and quickly checked in. Parking and overall atmosphere shows the care and intention put into the guest experience. There are so many little things that add up and show that the owners are doing the best they can to provide a clean and pleasant stay. I imagine it would be easy to complacent in a town of 2300 people and little competition, but they clearly have not. If you're traveling in the area or passing through, I recommend this as a rest stop. read more

Stayed here one night after a drive from Moab toward the hot springs in Monroe. It was clean and comfortable and I slept like a baby. We checked in late (after the lobby closed) but the poor young clerk woke up and checked us in, I felt terrible but I guess it comes with the territory. The Inn is family-run, the young man who checked us in said it's his family that runs the desk, does the cleaning and turnover, etc. This isn't luxurious, it's on the basic end, but it had everything we needed (even a great little coffee shop next door), was clean, and affordable. I don't know if I'll ever get back to Salina, but if I do, I'd be happy to stay here again! read more

If you're looking for luxury this is the wrong place. However, if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, affordable and friendly location to lay your head then this is the place for you. The beds are comfortable, but not soft. The pillows had some support and didn't go flat the moment you touched them - like many do. The shower has pressure and the water was hot. This place is so wonderful the owner is extremely nice especially if you have been driving for a long day the rooms are really homey. I have never wanted to come back to a hotel room as I have this one. I like this as much as I like going to the Yaamava hotel and casinos deluxe suites. probably a little more since I don't have to spend that much money in a casino. We love them in these in the room in the big space that the room has to offer when you're getting a double bed one. It was affordability & comfortability. Would 100% recommend. it's worth driving a little bit more from the freeway exit to get to this place 3 minutes from the exit. read more

Room was clean, but it is NOT pet friendly! I paid for the room in advance on Expedia(about $60)) on the way to Denver for a dog show. Expedia stated that HDI was pet friendly. I could not find anything regarding pet policy on Expedia post, so I went to HDI website, ad still NOTHING regarding pet policy. After nearly 10 hours of driving I checked into my prepaid room with my dogs, and read the fine print on my receipt the next day on the way to Denver . The jackass who owns the place claims my dog peed in the room and charged me an extra $117 basically tripling the room price. If you have pets, DON'T STAY HERE! read more

I have never had such treatment on my checkout before in my life. I had left a honest review (not on yelp) stating how noisy it was, let them know my room number too in the review. I guess I shouldn't have done that prior to checking out because a woman. Who I'm only assuming is the wife of the owner... came out of the office and flipped me off as I was getting into my car to leave. I mean seriously?!?!? You receive feedback your reaction is to go outside and give me the middle finger. What a class act!!! Real stand up woman here! However the husband was beyond friendly the night before, gave a two star review on Google and his wife came out and gave me the finger... just bizarre. read more

This is an old place but fits into the ambiance of the town. Clean rooms. Microwave and refrigerator in our room. Ice machine close by. We were welcomed after midnight with a very nice gentleman. Exceptional Family owned Inn. Very much worth staying at. Very clean and quite, not to mention how very reasonable it is. Lot's of parking and the new owners are doing an amazing job at making the Inn a warm, friendly, clean and quite relaxing place to stay. I will definitely stay here again. Also very safe as I was a traveling by myself, I had no worries checking in late, going to my room or sleeping. Thank you for the opportunity to get some much needed sleep It's worth the very short drive towards town!! This is not The worst place I've stayed, but I won't go back. Loud, inefficient air conditioner. A light turned itself off - then turned back on at 3a.m. Old carpet- I wouldn't walk barefoot in. The covering on the chairs is worn off. I will say that the bed linens were clean. read more

We were so grateful to find this place! We were traveling back to Denver and needed to stop and sleep. However, there were all sorts of events and tournaments happening in Salina and Richfield, so we could NOT find a hotel last minute. Everything was sold out. The woman at Motel 8 gave us the info for this place and it was great! Seems family run. The staff was suuuuper sweet. Even gave us extra mini shampoo and conditioner. Clean room, king sized bed, some updates have obviously been done. Hot shower, flat screen TV. $60/night, breakfast and coffee. Yep, we would totally stay here again if we are passing through that way. read more

Very clean with cute unique features like a mock fireplace under the TV. This is probably the first hotel I've ever been to soft towels that actually smelled like detergent. Price was better than other big hotel chains in the area and likely much nicer. They provided muffins and bagels with free water bottles coffee and yogurt. Very happy with my experience. read more

A nice family run inn right in the middle of town. It's small and basic, but can't beat it for the price. I went just after renovation and was impressed with the space and cozy fireplace. Terrible experience! My family stopped here in July 2019 on our cross country road trip. Our expectations were not high but the room was very unclean. The shower was covered in hair from a previous guest and an old, used coffee pod was rotting in the coffee maker. Then, the owner sent us a text message after we checked out saying he was charging $50 to our credit card because our toddler spilled a tiny amount of milk on a very old, dirty chair in the room. read more
