It was recommended to replace the unit as it would cost less. The salesperson asked if we would get more quotes we said yes. Glad we did as it was fixed in 30 minutes, instead of replaced for 11,000.00. The second HVAC professional also informed us that the price quoted was extremely high to replace that unit. (Seconded by a 3rd HVAC company.) There were also questions on the Freon reading as the settings did not match the size unit we needed to work on. This was determined by the subsequent HVAC company who looked at our service report, he said none of it made any sense. When I called and requested my 99.00 back as the whole conclusion of the visit by them was erroneous I received a bit of a run around asking for more details. I sent an email with an explanation as to why this was a visit that was a waste and should be complimentary as it was erroneous but no reply.

While the technician was in the process of making a repair, somehow the wire from my furnace to my second floor thermostat was clean cut. Not broken, snapped or frayed- a clean cut. They told me it was now my responsibility to make the repair with an electrician even though the Strogen's technician cut the wire. The electrician I had from Quality Electric informed me that the wire was cleanly cut and not accidental. Strogen's has denied any and all responsibility for the cut wire. They told me I was on my own for the $682 bill for running a new wire from the second floor to basement unit. If a technician from Strogen's intentionally cut a NECESSARY wire, why did they not rectify the situation or find an electrician to do it instead of making the repair for their mistake my financial responsibility. They're supposed to fix things, not damage more in the process and leave the customer to figure it out Do NOT recommend this company! Edit to my review: there was another one star review with the opinion that the customer was taken advantage of because she is a single woman. Unfortunately I feel as though they did the same to me and clearly have done so to others as well. They see a single female and believe they can give the run around more easily and just pass the buck and make it impossible to resolve a situation that was THEIR fault

Something lets go, there's the sound of rushing water, and the whole downstairs fills up with steam. It was so thick I couldn't even see a foot in front of me in the basement as my plumber, Darren Powers, talked me through on the phone how to shut the furnace down, and which valve to turn to get the water to stop. Man! What a mess.... Darren was such a help to me. Though he had been up since early that morning working a job when I reached him at around 7:00 pm, he came over as soon as he could around 9:00 pm and worked on stabilizing things until about 10:30 pm so nothing else would happen. Because it was Saturday, he wasn't able to come back until Monday after gathering all the parts and equipment needed to fix the furnace and burst pipe line. I've known Darren for years, and he's helped me on many occasions. Each time, he came as soon as he could, did great work, and cleaned up the resulting mess after. I've trusted him numerous times to come in to do his work even when I wasn't home. And he's always been more than fair with not only his prices, but also his time.
