Everytime I have been there and it's been dozens of times over many years the employees have been friendly and helpful. You won't get that at the big box stores. Several times I've felt they gone above and beyond to help me. The Selection is good, I've Always found what I needed and if not they were glad to order whatever I needed. NOT AG FRIENDLY I occasionally need supplies for the upkeep of my cattle ranch. I have a state AG sales tax exemption card and completed the necessary paperwork at this Ace store to receive my tax exemption. I am an honest person and only use my exemption on ranch supplies. Despite this, Higginbotham's will only allow my tax exemption on items THEY determine to be AG related. For instance, my livestock pipe fence was in need of a new paint job, so I purchased a gallon of paint along with rollers, brushes and other misc painting supplies. The cashier honored the exemption on the paint (only because it was oil based), but refused to honor it on the painting supplies. Makes no sense. Two weeks later, I bought metal braces to reinforce my homemade cattle feeders. Again, Higginbotham's refused to honor my tax exemption. I now drive to Home Depot in Terrell. They have never once questioned my tax exemption. You would think a hardware store in a small farming town would be more in tune with AG folks than a big box store 20 miles away, but this is NOT the case with Higginbotham's. read more

i was working there for a few months and gotten signs and obvious comments by the managers being inappropriate, I have learned to ignore it and see if it got better and it never did and then they grew this grudge against me started to not like me and then screwed me over and fired me. Bought an Ace sling blade at this store less than a month ago. After using it for less than 15 minutes, one of the two blade attachment screws/nuts came off. Took the tool to the store to have the lost parts replaced. This was easily accomplished, but then I was stopped by the register clerk as I headed for the door. She insisted twice that I pay for the parts. Assistant mgr was summoned and the situation was explained again. "You realize we can't keep replacing these if they keep falling off. I'll make an exception this time." Apparently it's "Buyer Beware" since there must not even be a warranty of one month on Ace hand tools. Canton Ace Hardware staff is the rudest people in Canton. I can't believe they get any business at all. I never would leave a review because I felt I was the only one that felt that way, after talking to several people about the staff, they agree.
