We rented a Lift Chair from Hieline. After hip surgery my husband was unable to sit and stand from our sofa. The recliner gave him the mobility to stand up without assistance. The recliner looked new, was clean and in very good working condition. Delivery and pickup of the chair was outstanding. Never rent mobility equipment from Hieline if you expect working equipment or a refund when their equipment fails. I rented a heavy duty mobility scooter specifically to attend an event downtown. It was on a Sunday, so I rented the scooter for 3 days. Initially, everything was great. They allowed me to rent the scooter at a daily rate, despite having gotten rid of daily rentals in their policy, and allowed me to pay for only two days as long as I picked it up at the end of the day Saturday and brought it back first thing in the morning on Monday. Perfect. The first red flag was that when I showed up to pick up the scooter, there was no one available to help me load it into the back of my vehicle. That wouldn't have been a problem, except that I had specifically asked whether someone would be there to help me load it into my car and I was assured that it would be no problem. If I had known in advance that assistance wouldn't be available, I could have made arrangements, but I was specifically told that someone would be on site and able to load it into my car. During this process, there is a misunderstanding about the size of my vehicle and the employees start to disassemble the scooter to get it into my car (potentially important later). The seat is removed, the batteries housing comes off, and I stop them, and say this isn't necessary, I've fit the same model into the back of my car before with just the handlebars and seat folded down. It gets put back together and we get it loaded. Problem solved. But then the Sunday night rolls around. I get downtown to the event I'm attending, get the scooter unloaded from my vehicle, go to turn it on... and it won't move. The battery is showing it's fully charged, I move the lever on the back from neutral to lock - check again, no movement. Move the lever back to neutral - no movement. The horn works. The front light works fine. Turn the key off. Remove it. Start it again. Notice the blue light below the battery life display is blinking. This wasn't covered when we went over how to operate the scooter, so I google how to troublshoot a mobility scooter that turns on but won't move. Google says a blinking blue light is likely a short or electrical issue of some kind and it needs maintenance. I call Hieline and leave a voicemail. I have exhausted everything I am capable of doing, the equipment has failed, I am unable to attend the event. I load the scooter back into my car, go home. Monday morning, I take it back to Hieline. We unload the scooter, and it is now working again. I asked the gentleman who helped me get the scooter out of my car about getting a refund, because the scooter didn't work when I needed it to and it caused me to miss an important event I'd been planning to attend for months. He told me that he would speak to the owner and I would receive a call that week. On Saturday, I receive a phone call from Angela who tells me they will not be giving me a refund because the scooter was working when I picked it up and when I dropped it off. The owner didn't even have the courtesy to call me to inform me of the decision himself. It doesn't matter if their equipment works in their parking lot. It matters if their equipment works when disabled people need it. At events. Around town. In the real world. And their equipment failed in the real world. I wasn't taken seriously, despite leaving them a voicemail at the time that it failed, and I was left without options. I hope no one else depends on their equipment, because it's not dependable. I'll never be using their services again. I hope no one else risks it either. read more

6/29/17 Noticed the manager replied to my review. All I have to say is that he is not explaining everything clearly. He said, "we did not have any coupons or specials at the time" first, the coupon clearly shows on yelp on their own page. After check in, the coupon will pop up. Thats a lie. I even took a photo of it and posted it. If he has a problem with the coupon or if he doesnt want customers to use it, then take it down!!!! Second, "3-4 days of delivery" yes, it was mentioned 3-4 days, but it needs to be said "estimated"!! Do not say 3-4 days, then we think it will be there within 3-4 days. If they had mentioned "Estimated or it maybe a few more days they do not know depending on mail" then we could have taken in consideration. Third, "called and unable to communicate bc of english". He called my mother who doesnt speak english. He had my number and my sisters number to communicate and we both have perfect in english. So the response from him was not only trying to defend himself because what we said was only the whole truth but unapologetic to the customer. So kind and helpful! I was in search for an inexpensive option of getting a walker for a friend who just had abdominal surgery. Checked with local Walmarts but out of stock. Called Hieline and they were so accommodating and helpful. Asked what my needs were and even offered that since I only needed for a week, they had a gently used simple walker for rental of $25/week instead of forcing me to purchase one elsewhere. Very helpful! We called several places in the Dallas area in search of a certain piece of hospital grade medical equipment. We only had a short time to locate this needed piece of equipment. The hospital and the insurance company weren't very helpful with our search. When we reached this place on the phone they had exactly what we needed and held it for us until we could get there that afternoon. The gentleman was very helpful and went over everything we needed in addition to the equipment as they didn't have some things in stock. Once we arrived that afternoon the equipment was waiting on us. The gentleman we spoke to was very friendly and helpful. Very good and respectful sooter service. My father in law visited us at one weekends and need a scooter on Saturday. The rental fee for a scooter is 50$/day and we picked it up on friday and plan to return it on saturday afternoon before 4 (Becasue they close at 4:00pm on saturday and won't open on sunday). But we didn't make it on saturday so we were parepared to pay for two days rental fees. Surprise is when my husband returned it on monday, they've only charged one day rental fee for us. Because of Terri H's recommendation, I decided to check this place out. I didn't bother checking anywhere else because an Elite recommendation carries a lot of weight with me. Terri's review was right on the money. I called them about 45 minutes before closing (6pm). A gentleman answered the phone and said that he would hold the equipment that I was looking for (knee scooter). They had a pretty good selection of equipment and all of it was in good shape. The facility was clean and easy to get to. I made it there and was out of the door before closing time. The attendant even took the time to demonstrate how to properly use the equipment. I'm going to keep this review as short and simple as I can. I searched yelp for a reliable place to rent/purchase a scooter for my mom who recently broke her ankle. Most of the places I called had complicated processes to go through insurance, and this place had a high rating and less wait time (or so I thought) so I decided to call this place. My first issue is with the 20% off check in coupon. When my sister and dad went to the store, a lady working there wasn't familiar with it, but said she would ask her manager to be sure. But she did tell them to put a small down payment for them to order the scooter my family had chosen. A few days later the manager/owner calls telling me that he does not recognize or see this coupon. I offered a screenshot and sent it to him. He then claims this is two years old and should be taken down. Isn't that his responsibility? That is clearly false advertisement. Even if it is "two years old", shouldn't he at least offer some kind of discount? Some might say no. Okay, I'm fine with that. Regardless, have the courtesy to take down false advertisements for future customers. Next, we have the time table. The manager then tells me on the phone that he cannot order the scooter until we pay in full. What about our down payment? His response is, "Well if you don't want the scooter, I can return your down payment." Is that how you talk to a customer? Shouldn't you try your best to make a sale and help the customer at the same time? I realize there must be incidents where someone tells them to order a scooter and then backs out. But we already made a down payment, went in person, and explained the situation. We explained we needed it right away. Finally we decide to get it (because we are desperate) and he tells us it will arrive within the week. If we pick it up, it will be faster. Those were lies, because we called the day we were supposed to pick it up. It hadn't been delivered yet. The week passed. A few days later? Nope. After a third phone call, they said we could come pick it up Saturday. But Saturday came and went. We ended up picking it up Monday. Again, I understand you cannot control shipments. But you can't promise a pick up day without knowing for sure. He just wanted to make the sale and didn't care about making promises he couldn't keep. I am willing to give businesses another try if they are apologetic and willing to accommodate, but I don't see that here. It's to the point that my dad wanted to go somewhere else and pay a higher amount, rather than deal with dishonesty. I am very disappointed with my experience here and most likely won't bring my business here again. I didn't keep this review short after all. Doesn't it stink to be lied to? My mother's electric hospital bed was about to break underneath so I was under duress. If I had time I would have taken time to look at reviews and perhaps choose another durable medical equipment company but for her safety I had to do something fast. They had a bed available that could be delivered quickly. The rails would not go up and down properly. The tech was blaming it on the air mattress she has. in 3 weeks the pin to raise the rails up and down came apart rendering the rail useless. They came out and put a rail connected to a tension rod which would not stay in place. This is a safety hazards. Each time they wanted to charge me an $89 fee though the bed supposedly is under warranty. both rails are defective. The second set of rails move away from the bed and do not stay in place. They refused to order the part to fix the pin and do the original set up. The owner disconnected the phone and all employees tried to talk over me. I have never written a review but this has to be the worst place ever. I rented a bed and a lift chair due to the fact my husband had back surgery and I needed to rent these items for one month. I placed the order over the phone and they delivered it the next day. It was set up and placed in the appropriate place in the house. After 10 days the chair no longer would lift so I called them and they came out the next day to bring another controller. When they arrived they said we had damaged the controller and my husband reassured them the controller had never been moved. He proceed to tell us there were scratches on the top which did not make sense due to the fact this probably happened from moving in from one home to the next. A few days later I noticed that a charge was put on my card of $252.00. The unfortunate thing was he had my card since I had placed the order over the phone. When I contacted him he said when he took the controller apart it was crushed on the inside so he charged me for a damaged controller. He said it looked like it had been rolled over by a mac truck. If it was damaged on the inside you would see the damage on the outside. Crazy!!! There would have been no reason for us to have moved the chair or the controller. The controller stopped working and we were left with paying for it due to the contract they have you sign saying your are responsible for any damage to the items that were rented. The chair and bed were delivered and picked up by them and there would have been no way to have ever crushed his controller. Beware of what you are signing. Great Equipment Rentals and Excellent Customer Service! My husband and I contacted this company about renting a hospital bed and wheelchair rental, about three days before Memorial Day. They really came through for us in a great way. The prices were reasonable, equipment imaculate and comfortable, and the customer service was second-to-none. They did a wonderful job coordinating and communicating times for delivery and pick-up. Last but not least, Andrew (Delivery and Set-up Representative) was AMAZING. He was nice, polite, efficient, and very respectful. He did a great job demonstrating how to properly use the equipment. Wish I could rate them higher than a 5! I had a house guest who had mobility problems so wanted a reliable electric scooter for her to use while she was here. The person who helped me originally was Madeline but the other people I dealt with were amazing as well. I had called several places but when I got to one of them, the price they quoted was not the real price and the scooter looked really banged up. On top of that, only part of it could be dissembled. Then I went to Heiline. I got a 3-wheel scooter that came apart into light enough pieces for me to manage (I'm 70 years old) and it was in very good condition. When I returned it, I forgot to bring the seat and the person who was at the desk told me I could bring it to his house because it was so much closer to my house than bringing it all the way back to the store. Terrible customer service and they lie. We ordered a recliner lift-chair to be delivered for a post surgery patient, but when we called back a day later to request it be a chair free from smoke or pet smells, the manager said he had no way of guaranteeing or honoring that request. He said everything is cleaned with chemicals -- again, not something we want in our house or around a cancer patient. So we cancelled the chair. Imagine our surprise when someone left a voice message saying we owe a $50 cancellation fee because it was cancelled within one week of delivery. There was no rental contract or agreement stating that there was a fee - altho they lied and said we had signed a contract, when in fact, the transaction had been done entirely on the phone. When I called to dispute the charge, I was told that they held the chair for us when they had so many people calling to rent the chair. So, I said that renting the chair again shouldn't be a problem for them since they had so many people on the waiting list! The manager was so angry to be called on his b.s. that he yelled at me that he didn't want us as a customer any longer and hung up on me. What a tool. Stay away from this place -- there are others who will be happy to accommodate your needs and special request, if you can count asking as a smoke free chair as a special request. read more

This post is about my experience at Hieline Mobility Solutions in Plano, Tx. This post is my opinions that are unbiased and objective. Also this has the play by play of my text chain with the person at Hieline Mobility Solutions. I had a bad experience. Please form your own opinion about this place I'm not telling you to go or not to go. I had inquired about getting my Jazzy select powerchair fixed here and they were nice at first. They told me they pickup and deliver the chairs they work on and they give free estimates. I told him thats great since I do not have a working lift to transport my power chair. They called me a couple of days later and told me the cost would be $270.63. I told him my medicare will cover it. He said we don't take Medicare. I told him I'm on disability and I cant afford that. He got very irritated and said come get your chair. He refused to deliver it back to me. I told him I can't afford it he said we will not deliver it back to you unless you pay for the repair. I mentioned that said they do free estimates and pick up and deliver for free. I told him I needed a couple of days to get someone to pick up my chair. He was very rude and irritated and said you need to get it now or I will recycle your chair. The chair was only there 3 days. Texas law states i have 30 days to pick up an item left at a repair shop. Plus after I got a friend to pick it up they didn't want to give it back. My friend argued and finally got it back after he said we might get it fixed here. Then when I got it back they did not return my charger. I left a message that I need my charger back and I have not had a response yet. Then when my caregiver picked up my chair they forgot to give him my charger. Then the lady said we are sorry about forgetting the charger Im here alone but when a 2nd person arrives I will deliver it today. I thought wow they are finally being nice. Then I texted about two hours before they closed and the guy said were not delivering it. So I sent my caregiver to pick up the charger and the guy said Im not giving it to you until I talk to Jason who owns the chair. My caregiver left because I was in a meeting and he couldn't call me. Then I called the place and the guy said I need to give him a good 5 star review on yelp and google and then he will give me my charger. I told him I feel thats not right and I feel that you are trying to extort a good review from me. Then 5 min later he texted me "Let me see the reviews first then I will deliver it to you. I said that doesn't sound fair. So I thought to myself I cant charge my chair if I can't get my charger back. So had to make up a 5 star review. Here is what I wrote " Jason E. 5.0 star rating 6/30/2016 This place is great they picked up my chair and diagnosed it very quickly and they kept the cost low and they have great prices on parts. Plus they were even willing to hold the power chair until i can afford to fix it. This place is first class and the staff is very friendly." I texted it to him and said this is what i will post if you will give me my charger. He replied "Let me see those reviews on both sites and I will deliver it to you" I responded I need to add that part to my review" he responded "What part" I texted "Let me see those reviews on both sites and I will deliver it to you." I called and texted told him that he can deliver it to my secondary caregivers mothers shop 1 block from his shop on plano pkwy. I made him very angry for saying will post that he then hung up on me. Then he texted " Jason, we don't have your charger, it was picked up yesterday." I said "I will post you are trying to steal my charger your employee verified you had it" He responded "We were trying to help you and you are threatening us with reviews from the get go. You are free to do what you want. If you want, call me and we will resolve the situation." I thought to myself I better just do as he said and give him good reviews on both sites or I cant charge my chair. So I posted the review I showed earlier. Then I texted him "There I did as you said and I left good reviews on both google and yelp can I please get my charger?" I also sent a screen shot of my reviews on both sites. Then I texted "Look on yelp and google it's real." Then I rend my caregiver back a 2nd time to get my charger and he finally gave it to my caregiver. I then texted "That's my charger you gave me back that you said you didn't have. Why did you do that?" He never responded. I have the text chain to prove everything. read more
