I came for the chili beans!! I see worlds greatest chili and I have to try it. I drove by and saw the sign so I called in a order. The lady over the phone was a lil rude but still I wanted to try that chili. When I picked up the chili the inside was pretty cool looking and clean , not all dirty like famous sams. The chili was pretty good, had a lil kick to it. Has black & pinto beans in it with ground beef. Has some good flavor to it and comes with crackers and green chili cornbread. I've lived in this area most of my life and I have passed by the hideout many times and finally was coerced by my friend to visit with her since they were on Bar Rescue and I have to say I'm going to keep driving by. We came in and it looks like a regular dive bar nothing really stands out about it. We sat down and ordered our food. The wings were good but the bacon burger I ordered was terrible. The burger was very dry and unseasoned and the bacon was burnt. I don't even know why the waitress asked how I wanted the burger cooked. The service was good, out waitress was friendly and frequently checked on us. Maybe if you are just stopping for drinks but if you plan on getting food you have been warned eat before hand. read more

Visited today since it got remodeled. I like this place but my review is for the embarrassing customer service. Our server was new Maritza, she was excellent! Very sweet and wow was she working very hard. She was taking food orders and working the bar. The negative review is for Summer, she literally (and I say literally because a lot of patrons noticed) flirted with men at the bar while poor Maritza was running around all night. I say embarrassing because I'm a manager and these apps are for management to hear the voice of the customer and their true experience. I don't know if summer is new herself or just thinks she can get away with barking orders at this poor gal but she needs to be retrained. Tables surrounded agreed only because we saw the strain one employee was under while the other did nothing. Plus side food was excellent, fish fry, street tacos, carne asada burrito was excellent and the prices are so cheap! Fix the balance of your workers and you have 5 stars. read more

It is dark inside. They usually have live Mexican music or DJs on the weekends or karaoke on Wednesday. They only sell beer in bottles (no pitchers). The clientele are of two types: Mexican nationals and Mexican-Americans between 30 and 50 who live in the area and like to have a good time. Weight Watchers should open up a chapter nearby. The second type of people who go there are younger and look like felons out on parole (the Pima County Jail is just up the street). Despite the tough crowd, I haven't seen any fights there in the ten or so times I've been there. The security staff is very alert, competent and yet pleasant. They seem to realize that their job also involves promoting their business - they don't go out of their way to piss people off and they also patrol the parking lot, so I feel safe leaving my luxury car there. This is a convenient bar and grill that often has live music on the weekends. They serve decent food especially the great breakfast over the weekend. They have a full bar and kind bartenders. The owner is great when he is there and everyone else that works there is either close friends or family...or so it seems. They treat everyone lovely. You can even go alone and have a nice time with the bartender and listening to the juke box when there isn't a live band. The only things that sucks is the bathroom as it is very small. read more

Boo on you. It all began as a simple walk to cool off. I was walking down Mission when I happened upon The Hideout so I decided to venture onward as I made my way to the door I was rudely stopped by a man outside I can only presume he was a bouncer. Though I couldn't say for certain he was dressed like any bloke on the road. Two fellow patrons approached the door the "bouncer" half telling half asking told me to let them by and then asked for some Id understandable. Then as I was preparing to walk inside he asks to pat me down ummmm no thanks no bar is worth some dude rubbing me down how about joining the rest of the world in the 21st century. Oh and by the way if you have to check your patrons for weapons and contraband I don't want to come inside anyway. By the way the teach your staff some manners. read more

Came in with my friend to check out what changes were made after Bar Rescue. Everything seemed to be basically the same, only Modelo on tap, my friend ordered a whiskey ginger but they didn't have ginger ale? Overall felt pretty unwelcome and we left after getting 1 drink. read more

This is more than just a bar. Its also a pretty decent restaurant, and surprisingly the food here is extremely affordable and quiet delicious. The Hideout original wings(I go mild flavor) are a steal at a dozen for 6.95. Also, their Taco Salads are excellent. A full chicken meal on Thurs/Fri for (9.99) is an excellent meal for 2. What is not excellent is the App/Sides. 2.95 for a small side of fries, and 3.95 for a tiny basket or O-rings is over priced. Overall this is a good place to order take out (50cents extra for to go) or eat in. Unfortunately the operating hours of the kitchen seem to change daily. I wish they would have consistent kitchen hours. On Sunday's they only offer brunch, but it is very good. read more
