We will definitely be back. The breakfast was delicious, the restaurant is gorgeous, and the attentiveness of Brittany was top notch! She took great care of us and we may have laughed a little too hard at a couple of things. Thank you Brittany and the Gabby Goat team!

Really fun, western, rustic restaurant theme. Hitchin Post is essentially a cozy diner. Sunday lunch special is the big hit. Chicken noodles, stuffing, green beans, and more. A decent selection of desserts. Food during my first visit was a tad on the salty side, but haven't had that issue on subsequent visits. Chow has been spot on. Service is quick and friendly. Price can't be beat. I'm withholding one star based on the menu. Standard fare from cover to cover, but a five star joint should have a unique, defining dish that sets it apart. Sunday chicken noodles might be it, but I'd love to see what else they can hash together in the kitchen. Nice place for a good lunch.

My friend had the brisket nachos. She got the half order and barely made a dent in it. Service was very fast and it's right off the interstate.

In seasonable weather, we eat on the front porch with a roof or the garden room in the back -- complete with blooming wisteria in springtime. In the winter, we have a special corner table in an alcove. There's a bar and big-screen in another room. I would rather eat at this restaurant than anyplace in Bloomington. Why? Because the food is good, the parking is easy, and the tables are not close together. We can talk without feeling any intrusion. I am a huge fan of the spinach ravioli and order the dish almost always. Pork steak and salmon are grilled to perfection. Also favorites. The trip to Bloomfield is always pleasant, and I feel that I escape the cares of the week built up from a stressful job -- every trip to Bloomfield.
