I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. I chose to do the couples massage express ($220) but you can check in with yelp for $20 off! Upon arrival the ladies were very nice. She gave us a questionnaire to fill out, basically where you would like to be massaged and were you want them to avoid. With the couples express you can choose between a 50 min massage + 10 min shower or 60 min massage. She suggested we do the 60 min massage because they use organic green tea oil (i believe that's what she said) and it is very good to leave that on your body afterwards and not wash it off so that is what we chose. We then were guided to our private room and were told to change into japanese kimonos. We rang the bell when we were ready and they took pictures for us :) they were so kind and did not rush us at all like some of the other comments mentioned. That was the one thing i was concerned about when i booked this place. We then got our massages. We both really enjoyed it! My boyfriend even fell asleep and snored haha After the massages were over, they even gave my boyfriend a cake and some japanese sweets and hot green tea since they knew it was his birthday. WOW - This place is my favorite spa now! I had the Hideko Retreat and it was ahmaaaaazing - just the thing to de-stress on the weekend after the busy holiday season. First, I chose which scrub scent I wanted at the front before I was led into my own private suite with a standing rain shower, personal tub, massage table, chair, and sink area. I was then told to change into my yukata and sat down in my suite as they came in and gave me my foot scrub/massage. Next, was the full body massage which I really enjoyed! I would say what I got felt like a combo between Thai/Swedish massage. Afterwards, was the body scrub which was followed by a quick rinse then bath time! They were also really nice about taking photos afterwards and even gave me a small slice of cheesecake and tea at the end. All the staff I interacted with was super friendly and kind, and I do appreciate that they try to space out the lobby so you minimize interactions with other customers at the end. This place is a hidden gem for sure. Has been here for 3 yrs. The place is clean and minimal. Decor is simply perfect. Staff are friendly and the owner Momo is the best! Hideko spa is the most magical place I have ever been to. It was so hard to leave! When I tell you everyone at this spa is so genuinely sweet, I mean it! The spa itself is ridiculously clean. Everything is sparkling! I took my boyfriend for a spa day for his birthday and we had the most positively memorable time! The treatments themselves were incredible. The massages were fantastic and the body scrub was wonderful. Ending our evening with a long soak and a beautiful piece of cake for his birthday was the cherry on top. Ive never been to a spa before this was my first time going. My wife booked us a surprise spa for our 3 year anniversary and it was a bit pricey but totally worth it. I came out feeling unstressed and refreshed. The ambiance is beautiful actually makes you feel relaxed and like if you were in Japan. The custom is beautiful and traditional too. Wow! This place was amazing! I researched around for cool spas in the LA area and I found this place by luck. I read many reviews and photos and just knew this was it. Also, my fiancé and I love the Japanese culture. I booked us the Romantic Couple package for my fiancés Christmas present. The staff was very welcoming when we got there and plus there is designated free parking for customers meaning you won't have to look for parking on the streets. Our package included 50 min signature massage, and 30 mins Organic scrub which felt super relaxing. After our shower/bath, we were treated with tea and a slice of cake. This spa was such a great retreat for my boyfriend and I. We did the couples massage for an hour and really enjoyed our time together. It was very soothing and very calm which aided in being able to enjoy and relax. I enjoyed the overall experience mostly because of my partner but not too much from the treatment. I do feel like the price we paid could have included more as well. The only other critique I have is mainly from one of the treatments we had done on us, specifically the one where they wrapped us up in this plastic which made us feel like mini sushi rolls. We opted for the Hideko couple treatment for $350 + tip. This included the following: 10 min Foot Ritual 70 min Massage Therapy 10 min Private Shower in Private Suite 10 min Refreshment The facility itself is beautiful! Love the Japanese aesthetic. My masseuse was using very light touches to massage me and I asked her twice to apply more pressure. She did apply more pressure it still felt lighter than average. It didn't seem like the masseuses took the time to read the information from the intake form as neither masseuses gave special attention to the problem areas that were listed on the form. Unfortunately, I left the spa with knots still in my neck and shoulders. The experience also felt rushed as the host was checking in on us 2-3 times to see if we were finished with our refreshments. I think this is because they have limited treatment rooms and probably had back to back appointments that day. Overall, I felt it was overpriced for the experience. But still appreciated my boyfriend so much for planning the evening! Three stars for the spa, five stars for my boyfriend. read more

The worst spa/massage ever. This is the competitor of Tomoko. Yes, price is slightly lower but I rather pay more for better services. Upon requesting an appointment, she indicated that last appointment is at 7:30pm (they closed at 10pm) and if I were to schedule an appointment at 8pm, I have to pay in advance. She then threatened to give my appointment to another person. When I agreed she can do so, she text back and informed me the appointment is scheduled and to tend to it. When I arrived for the appointment, there were no other customer. They did the foot massage in the waiting area. No privacy. She then demanded that I pay for the services (while getting my foot cleaned). I showed her my yelp deal (100 for one hour), she declined it, stating it's only promotional when they first open the facility. I told her that she also had a promotion of 20% off if you check/review on yelp, she still asked that I pay and offer to refund me the amount after the service. I asked to pay after so I can tip but she refused and said that I have to pay everything in advance and she would refund me. Guess what...she never did and said it would go toward tip. The massage was worst than a reflexology (Asian foot places). All they did was rub my back the entire time. When I showered, they never left the room until I requested it. The water became cold after 5 minutes. Never coming back. Please don't waste your money at this place. read more

My wife and I came here to celebrate the new year and have a nice date after a bunch of tough times over the last few months. We got the Hideko Couples massage, 70 minute selection. Even though it is on wilshire, somehow the interior is quiet and feels secluded from the world outside, fully immersive in the relaxing environment. We were lucky, accidentally showed up early to our appointment, and Momo gave us a free bath. It was a great way to adjust our bodies to the warmer temperature in the room and relax before the massage. The bathtub itself is perfect for two people, and a good ergonomic shape. We were given yukata and disposable underwear to put on before the massages, cute addition that goes with the Japanese theme of the spa. The sugar exfoliating foot scrub feels great, and they use basins to warm up your feet beforehand. The massage itself is set by your preference (extra charge for speciality types, but we always go Swedish). Speak up if they're being too soft or firm, the massage specialists are accommodating! I feel like the 70 minute is great, but the 50 minute massage with 20 minute bath is worth it as well. You're not going wrong with either option. At the end we had a shower and a piece of some of the best cheesecake I've ever had. Wonderful way to start off the year. Take yourself, take a significant other, definitely must go! read more

Did the couples package here for our anniversary, we were pleasantly surprised! All of the staff was so sweet and thorough! We were initially greeted by the cutest receptionist, the massage therapists were so kind and really exceptional. The massage was truly one of the best I've had in a long time. They ask you which areas you want them to focus on, and what type of pressure. The pressure was perfect and I wasn't sore the next day. The only down side is that they don't have a sauna or steam room. And unlike the social media videos, they give you the cake and tea in the lobby not in the room. I arrived 20 minutes early and spent 5 minutes filling in the form and then was lead in at 12:45. I booked the 140 minute package. The room and place was very clean. The staff very polite. everything was good I just felt it was a little rushed. when I was finished I realized I only got 120 minutes including the time to fill the form in. I mentioned that when I was paying. I just felt that I was not quite finished and the massage section and body scrub was cut short. The manager did discount the bill even though I did not want that.
