They have a beautiful spin studio. Also they upgrade their equipment, bikes, treadmills etc! Good stuff!! The teachers are encouraging, excellent and inspirational. They are reliable. I am a charter member and most of my instructors have stayed the same- a good thing!! Also the YMCA has contests and free programs to keep you on track. You can even get personal training too , one session or multiple sessions. The staff, for the most part, is very pleasant and helpful. I cannot stand the crowds in the afternoon, or on Saturday mornings. I couldn't even get on a weight bench - it was packed. Every treadmill in use so I recommend you go at "off times". I would be thrilled to see them open 24 hours a day but shudder to think how much more my membership would increase! Membership goes up every year and my newest rate will be over 90$ a month- a family membership. Very vey expensive. I wish they would offer a "non pool" membership. I'm paying a mint for stuff I'm not even using. It is so expensive that my son had to switch to LA Fitness which is half the price. They offer reduced memberships but be prepared to fill out mountains of paperwork & I'm sure you have to be poverty level to benefit. I rarely use the pool in the summer, it's insanely crowded. Don't expect to get a lounge chair either unless you are there really early. The pool is lovely, very "resort"-ish. You'll feel like you're on vacation. There are indoor pools too! Lap pool, family fun pool, there is a fabulous hot tub and a sauna too. All of which I've enjoyed. I love my YMCA- you can't put a price on your health. I'm there 5-7 times a week, I'll never switch gyms. You get what you pay for and I'm so happy that the YMCA is in our community- we really needed this. It's a great place to work out and I've met some very inspiring people at my YMCA.

Open Meadows Farm is a horseback riding facility on a historic property set in the bucolic…read more country near Skippack, Pa. They also run a Horseback Riding Summer Camp for children and most recently have been hosting children's birthday parties. We recently planned and attended a wonderful party there and were delighted with the results. The "Dragon" themed party was planned for a 6 year old with guests ranging in age from 4-6. Five was the perfect number for this party but the Farm allows up to 10 guests for two hours. The ponies were adorned with their "unicorn" costumes to the delight of the riders. Each pony was accompanied by 2 experienced handlers. Every child was required to have a parental waiver signed and were provided with a helmet for safety. I have never seen so many smiling faces before. Two ponies allowed for multiple rides by each child and that was something they really loved. Short wait time! The next activity was a wagon ride full of real hay around the beautiful and historic farm founded in 1774. Adults and children alike enjoyed communing with nature and enjoying the beauty of the day. Kids love throwing hay at each other and reaching high for overhanging branches. We moved onto the Fairy Garden where dazzling little fairies had been hidden in the trees, just waiting for discovery by the little party guests. I counted at least 22...there could have been more. For a small fee each child was able to "find" a special magic stone that had been hidden just for them. We had to drag them away from the Fairy Garden..they really loved it. On to the rustic barn which had been festively decorated with tiny twinkle light. We brought our own decorations, paper products and balloons and set things up before the guests arrived. A burlap covered table for the guests reinforced the farm atmosphere and an extra table was set up to hold the ice cream cake, cookies, snacks and drinks. An old wooden wheelbarrow was draped to provide a spot for the gifts. It was a great party and I cant wait to go again with another group. The Fischer family made it an absolutely perfect day for the children and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an alternative to video games and bouncy houses!!

Several basketball courts. Yoga classes. Easy checkin with the PHILAYMCA app. I always have a pleasant experience here. I think people just find things to complain about honestly. There's also a discovery den AKA play area indoors for $1. There's animals/insects outdoors such as turkey vultures, turtles, a butterfly house and a bird observatory (cute on the inside with toys for the kiddos - be sure to read the story about the couple who opened the center). And a natural playscape outdoors. There's also a bunch of fairy houses throughout the property that girl scouts donated. And lots of trails through the forest. They also have Magic Mornings for ages 2-4 Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays - but register ahead as they only have a certain amount of spots each day (it's seasonal - they have in fall and spring but not summer - see website). It's an hour class for $10 and includes a snack, craft, nature walk etc. They usually pull out an animal each class. It's great to get some time in nature with other kids. In summer, they have a full week of Magic Mornings in their Itty Bitty Briar Camp. Ms. Heidi teaches it and she is just great. They have a different theme every day such as sun, water, clouds etc and there's an activity each day (visit pond and catch tadpoles, water play, craft pertaining to theme). They have preschool pioneers for ages 4-5 and summer camp for older kids for a week in late June. *Just beware in June that parking is limited due to school field trips and you may not fit in either of the lots; you may have to park out front of the house to the left (which is fine - she just doesn't want buses idling there) They also have field trips to gardens and to the shore, classes for seniors, family nature nights, hot smores nights... Only negative (besides parking, which they can't really control), is the "snacks" for kids at Magic Mornings aren't the healthiest. One was cinnamon sugar graham crackers with whipped cream- regular would have been fine. 2 days were cheddar gold fish. Another day was blue jello with whipped cream. And some red licorice - the kind that whips. Fruit Loops were used for colors. So, if you don't like your child eating sugar, let them know you have a dietary restriction or bring your own snack (snack time is ~10 min and probably not needed but the kids always love snack time!). Some options that would be healthier and just as easy would be pretzel sticks, fruit, crackers, popcorn, veggies, string cheese...but I guess those all cost more besides pretzels/crackers/popcorn.

They have both indoor and outdoor play areas (just a heads up, the outdoor space closes from 11 AM-12 PM for the daycare group, but it's open right before and after), so there's something to do rain or shine. I believe they have a no-nut policy, which is helpful, and they do sell food that has other allergens, but eating is only allowed in the gated space with the tables, which is a relief in my mind that there's minimal risk of exposure in the common play area. There's another space that's opened up recently in the Plymouth Meeting Mall that I also like, that doesn't really allow food at all, which I appreciate as well, but the openness to food in that one area also lends itself to a longer stay. Having coffee available is also a big plus, as is the snacks that come with the entry fee (for those w/o food allergies, at least). I also appreciate that the entry fee is good for in and out privileges throughout the time it's open. The play space is vast and amenable to all sorts of play across ages, which is really nice. There's opportunity for physical play and pretend play, for toddlers and for bigger kids too. The little ones really enjoyed all of the things available, and there was even some low-key exposure to soccer with a pretty good size goal net. Absolutely a space I would return to with them!
