The park has gone from feeling like a 1950s campground to a true 21st-century RV destination, complete with all the conveniences you'd expect from a modern RV resort. The improvements are impressive: completely repaved roads, paved and mostly level sites, full hookups with 20/30/50 amp service, water, and sewer at every site. There are also plenty of spacious pull-thru sites that can easily accommodate large RVs and fifth wheels. The upgrades don't stop there. The park now features. WiFi, beautiful new restroom, and bathhouse facilities, along with new picnic tables and pavilions for day use. If you visited in the past and weren't impressed, it's definitely time to come back -- you'll be absolutely blown away by what they've done.

The walking trail is pretty decent which has you going in different directions depending on which part you want to start off with. Certain areas are closed off because of construction, but you still can get a good walk in. I would advise everyone to watch your step because the main starting trail has a lot of poop I'm sure you don't want getting on your shoes.

It was a cloudy, overcast day so we didn't get a chance walk as much as scheduled. I really enjoyed the scenery and the ease of the trail we were on. Beware of the territorial geese that reside here. They DO NOT play!!! This is an ideal spot for fishing. I can't wait to return to Cosby Lake!

Yes... this is the old Smith's Marina under new ownership. This is the fourth time we've rented a…read morepontoon for the day from this location and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT! We had initially reserved a boat for Monday [5/3], but the weather was so bad and scary that we called and they allowed us to postpone until Friday [5/7]. It was a *beautiful* boat day! Blue skies, not a cloud to be seen, albeit a liiiitle bit chilly [not their fault!] and we'd forgotten our long sleeves! :( Grant checked us in, Jacob helped us with the boat [didn't catch the name of the gentleman who actually put the boat in the water with the giant forklift, but he was awesome, too!]. We did our annual Lake Tuscaloosa jaunt down to Sharpe's Landing and Rock Quarry boat ramp and back up to Tierce Patton Road. Jacob even helped get our cooler out of the boat in into the car!! You often just don't get customer service of that caliber anymore! Granted, they've ramped up the charge [$375 from $250 for the day] from the previous owner... But I *think* they're about to either upgrade the boat(s) OR give them a little more power [from 115HP]. They also have wet AND dry storage and perform maintenance/repairs on engines, but I have no experience with those aspects of this business.

The water is bright blue and absolutely beautiful, it's such a great place to learn how to paddle board (no waves, no current). The rentals are fairly reasonably priced (~$15/hr) but you can also bring your own and just pay the usage fee (~$6). The dock is well maintained and so are the paddle boards, the owner/staff are incredibly nice and welcoming. Note that they're only open on Saturday's and Sunday's. Can't wait to come back and one day get scuba certified here!

Came here with my friend on Saturday (mid-morning) to paddle boat. It was our first time attempting…read moreto do so and also at this site (never would have expected to find this quarry in the middle of an industrial area). We rented our paddleboards for $15/hr and went right for it. They also have life vests available to borrow if you need. Kayaks were also available for rental as well as diving gear etc. This is a well run, organized and very pretty diving area, would definitely recommend for an outdoor adventure!

There were plenty of water fowl to gaze at or feed a healthy snack to. The water was lovely to look at and the star in the middle of the lake is how the park got its name. There were cars busily going around the area, so it's not the quietest park I've been to. While I guess it's a public park, It's still in a neighborhood so I question if it was built for the people that live around it. Anyway, I would visit again if I'm near the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do so.
