I visited as part of a special Christmas open house sponsored by the downtown merchants. So, of course, the small shop was filled with interesting Christmas items such as vintage blow molds and ornaments. The clerk was friendly in this independently owned shop. The prices were on the high side, so I reluctantly left empty handed. I parked on about a block north and walked as there was no nearby parking.

I picked a nice old 12 pane window in this shop about 2 years ago. I like digging through the treasures to be had here. This is not a huge shop but still fun. This time I found a small bundle of old recipes and newspaper clippings. It was do much fun digging through them when I got home! Some recipes I will try and some there was absolutely no way I would try lol. The gal that runs this shop is always so friendly and seems to get joy from speaking to every person who comes in. I will stop in this shop every year during the holidays.

Plan on spending a couple of hours if you look closely at everything. I don't linger; I walk at a good pace and stop when something catches my eyes. It still took me about an hour to get through 3/4 of the building. We simply ran out of time to finish browsing. You can find almost anything you're looking for at Treasure's. Clothing, jewelry, electronics, music, tools, books, furniture, small and large appliances, comic books, comic book characters, magazines, toys, wigs, nail polish, and home decor to start with. Prices appear to be reasonable on the items I checked. Prices varied per booth, and what the seller felt items were worth. I'll most likely stop in again when I have enough time to browse the rest of the store. Several interesting things got my attention.

We started at Buffalo Gal, and it wasn't what I expected. The last time I was in this space, it was a home decor/boutique business. Even though I was surprised, I enjoy browsing antique furniture, jewelry, dishware, clothing, and home decor items. Buffalo Gal didn't disappoint with such a variety of good quality antiques. We found a clean and well organized business with prices easy to locate, which is important to me. I found several gorgeous items I would have purchased if I had space for. I did find a beautiful tea set I had trouble leaving without. Due to the price, I could only buy one part of the set. The design reminds me of a Mayan pattern in rich pottery shades of rust, caramel, and chocolate. I hope to return soon and purchase the remainder of the set. Funny, how you can always find space for something you love. The prices were reasonable, the selection was impressive, and the owner was friendly, answered questions, and worked with me. I'm glad I stopped in and will return soon.

This is a moderately large and orderly antique/collectible shop. There are some large items…read moredisplayed at the front (a baby grand piano and a number of old gas pumps), but otherwise, the shop is arranged in rows of booths. I was impressed that the booths were all well kept, not filled with junky stuff that someone would find at a flea market or garage sale. Well, maybe some of that stuff, but generally there was a better quality of items than I've seen at a lot of places. There seemed to be a fair amount of furniture and oil paintings. There were Coca-Cola and some Barbie items too. However, the number of pure antiques was relatively low. And some of the items were well worn, so maybe not quite collectible, but the pricing seemed to reflect the condition. Seems like a decent place to stop if you enjoy browsing through these places. Yes there were steps to take both to get in the building and to get upstairs to the second floor. I saw this shop the other day when I was in town but didn't have time to stop then so I made a stop this time. Lots of different types of items as they have booths. Some of the prices were reasonable and others I found high. Which I seem to think happens every time you have a building that has boots so there are different vendors doing the pricing. It is worth taking a look. The people that work there were real nice and didn't walk around and bother you.

Humble Impressions is a thrift and consignment store dedicated to raising funds for community…read morechurch pantries. Per what I could find out, it's an all-volunteer effort and this is one of three locations. I will also note that this location relocated from a spot further south. There are also spots in Taylorsville and Beech Grove. I was in the area having some care work done nearby, and I decided to make a quick visit on my way from visiting some spots in the area. What can I say? This is true thrift. There are occasional community giveaway days. Prices are pretty amazing, and the selection is quite varied. There's a strong element of faith throughout, of course, and that includes attitude, decor, and to a certain degree even selection. After a quick visit, I was pleased to see a friend of mine on one of their social media posts. The entry is pretty accessible. The layout leans toward comfortable chaos, but I had no issues with getting around for the most part. I would enter with, well, humble expectations. There's really nothing fancy to be found here, but I found friendly volunteers with affordable items supporting a good cause. So, while this may not be the best thrift store in town it's a meaningful one worth the support.
