I love this place because I have got so many good things here and the staff are so nice I was here today

The City Mission has a contract with a company that raised the prices to a ridiculous amount. I shop at the N.Strabane store. Today I saw 1 small drinking glass for $2.50. I also saw a small glass set of 6. $8.99 per glass.$54.00 for set. ALL USED!!!!!! A USED vase. $39.99. I have contacted Diana Irey, Pres/CEO of City Mission regarding pricing. I have donated items and money to the city mission for many years. Hoping that my donations will help people in need and treasure hunters in my area. I have asked how long the contract is for this company? Who agreed to raise all of the prices? Who can tell this company to be realistic and lower these prices? I bought a shirt a while back for $3.99. I took it home, it didn't fit. I put it in a bag and donated it back. A month or so later I saw it again priced at $9.99. You would think that they would want a quick turnover of merchandise. I see nothing in that store that should be priced above $10.00 except for furniture. With food, gas and utilities so high now they should sell items as fast as they can. If the Pre/CEO can't do anything about this Who Can? Very Concerned, Karen Overcashier Ps. I do agree that the prices can be a bit off-putting. (Some of the pans I could have bought new at Marshall's or somewhere.) However, I got a deal on a nice office chair and a brand new pot! The offerings are quite good - and the staff is helpful, answering questions as it was the first time I had been there. With regard to the reviewer who mentioned price: everyone's going up! I want to blame the resellers, but I think it's just everything going up. Compared to other places, the prices seem to be about the same. So everything's going up - and the number of people this store serves (helps the homeless) are growing, so the need is growing. read more

These City Mission/Hidden Treasure stores were taken over by some management firm out of Tennessee which is most likely not just a massive firm but the kind of firm that Mitch Romney made loads of money doing - a Private Equity Firm. Even if that's not the same title given to the firm- they come in convince management they can "save" them and earn them so much more money, charge huge fees and don't give a damn about bankrupting them. They are in their to steal the capital. They don't care about the community and all the multitude of reasons this establishment was in existence. And especially a firm from Tennessee in PA. I know that from living there 25 years now as a "Northerner." When I heard why stores were shutting down and saw how they were running them, It was sickening. So sad that so many are so unaware of the corruption out there. And it is probably all perfectly legal according to laws of by and for the wealthy. I'm so sorry management fell for this. In past few years I was able to purchase some really great items for my home when I finally get moved back to PA. When clients get so disappointed and disgusted, I doubt they'll be pulling in great donations. So sad. Maybe they can find a way out of this to recover for the community. True Goodwills prices have gone up too much. But you can still get multiple discounts for different people on different days. And at least they're still stocked. I wish the best for City Missions recovery. I also wanted to mention the thrift store in Uniontown is so poorly stocked. And the layout of what is there is a mess and the clothes (which is a far less amount) are jammed so tightly together on less racks you can't even go through them. I just walked out. Outrageous prices! I can buy new things at better prices! It was so busy in the past! Wonderful folks worked there for years and were all fired at all the stores! Now they have hired New people to replace the people that were dedicated to the City Misson! read more

Used to be a great store. Now they've jacked up the prices to compete with goodwill to see who can charge the most money for junk that they get for nothing. They aren't helping anybody by driving customers away. We're done there. read more

Hidden treasures used to be a place I recommended to everyone, support our community 'you know'. Now the prices are appalling. Management team very nasty and entitled to customers, and employees. Layout terrible, it automatically says to customers "LEAVE" because of the way the racks run. And they "paid someone to improve the store" I'm not buying it based on the garbage they have presented so far. Prices are OUTRAGEOUS and no discounts are offered on product. Product is starting to get very tight and if the product pulled is the garbage. Another thing they clearly don't understand is the reason for which was clear when they need the sales... read more

Staff here are very nice, they might be volunteers but regardless they're always cheery and helpful. This thrift store has tons of better merchandise than the goodwill around the corner. They also do tag sales where every day of the week a certain kind of items have some percentage off. They also do 50% off days on holidays which are my favorite days to go. I've been to almost all of the local Hidden Treasures stores, and this one is underrated. You can always find something here. My favorite thing to buy here are cards for birthdays and stuff- they're 25¢ each! I only visit this location two or three times a year because stuff seems to sit here for a while so if you go back too soon you'll be looking at the same stuff read more

Nice store. Used to be fun to shop here. No longer off a 10% discount on a daily basis for seniors. Offer 20% discount on Thursday for seniors and 20% discount for Veterans on Wednesday. No color coded discounts on merchandise. Prices have gone up on everything. No warehouse sales anymore. The merchandise is all donated. I realize this is for a wonderful cause, the homeless, but they have made it hard for us on a limited income to shop here. It is a THRIFT STORE. Can buy new merchandise for what they are asking for their wares. read more

Frist off I would like to say that I have absolutely no problem with the workers at washington pa hidden treasures store, always kind,helpful and very respectful. Loved shopping there. But when Diana Irey became the CEO it went way down hill. I can say it was no surprise as when she voted to sell the Washington county health center it also went to hell. I know because I lived it. So you will not get any of my business any longer. You perclam you are for the poor in our community? Yet you let the prices go sky high,no more half off tags,no more 99 cent days and no more wear house sales. And you get all the stuff for free. Go ahead and try to explain that to us poor people. Oh wait, been down this road before, I'm sure Diana Irey has a BULLSHIT answer for that too. Hidden treasures is good and bad. Once a month everything is 50% off, but figuring out that day isn't very easy even looking on their facebook site. They also have an awesome warehouse sale once every three months. Other than that they price their stuff like eBay does and it's all overpriced. They openly admit they prove their stuff based on eBay. It was disappointing. read more
