You wouldn't think they sell coffee here from the outside, but we were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. It was giving super cute modern coastal vibes! So fitting for the beach town. Wandering in to LIFEC's space is like going through a giant garage sale in an senior apartment complex basement at the end of the month when everyone moves out. Sure, there's junk but you'll also stumble upon so. many. TREASURES! Do you have an empty bedroom that needs something of interest? They probably have a set of nightstands, or a bench to put your shoes on. Maybe even a swanky vintage dresser from the 40s? Live out your mid century modern dreams, or collect pieces to create your own story. I've wandered in to search for props for parties (maps, globes, vintage luggage for a bridal shower!), to fill the gap in spaces in my own place (unique beer steins are where it's at) and even to get some basics (A set of folding chairs! A must have PRE-COVID). Prices are higher than a garage sale, for sure. I know you CAN haggle with them but I honestly won't. They're a charity/nonprofit. The last time I spoke with the owner I could tell both him and his staff had huge hearts. They honestly care about people and need as much resources (and capital) to bring about the the most change... Stop in. You won't regret it! Even if you don't take any treasures home.

My family and I hired Mona's company to handle an estate sale after our mother passed away. We…read moreregret not doing more research beforehand, so I strongly encourage anyone considering this company to carefully read reviews and understand exactly what you're agreeing to. We were realistic about the possibility that the sale might not generate significant proceeds. In the end, the estate sale only brought us about $1,000 -- disappointing but not unexpected. What was unexpected and unacceptable was what happened next. Our understanding was that items suitable for donation would be removed first, with only the remainder treated as junk. Instead, the individual who arrived for the cleanout showed up with a very small van, said he was in a rush to get home for a religious holiday, and left with very limited time and capacity to sort items properly. As a result, many usable, high-quality items -- boxed china, unopened batteries, bicycles, baseball bats, books, and more -- appear to have been discarded as "junk" rather than donated. On top of that, the cost for "junk" removal was staggering: $4,000. This completely blindsided us and turned what should have been a modest estate sale into a loss. When we asked Mona about the cleanout cost, we told her we had $1,100 from the sale and specifically asked if the cleanout would be more than that. She replied, "It might be." At no point did she disclose that the cost could be FOUR TIMES that amount. To make matters worse, Mona's team never provided an invoice or written quote before the cleanout. The only figure we were given was the vague statement that it "might be" more than $1,100. In short, our experience with this company was costly, poorly communicated, and deeply disappointing. If you're considering hiring them, ask for detailed written estimates, insist on clear donation procedures, and proceed with caution.

They are great people and they will entertain you if you are chatty and friendly. Cooky's shop is filled with current fashion as well as Vintage clothing (downstairs is a must visit for that). They mostly have ladies wear but there is lots of menswear too! They have household items, some furniture pieces and their jewelry case is to die for. I don't leave her without something. Preferably vintage as her selection is top notch and reasonably priced. If you find something great you know you're not finding it anywhere else. Definitely put Cooky's on your list of must visits!
