    Cliff notes - run far away!!!…read more Went in as a new patient with bad tooth pain. Office staff were okay. Spent their time chatting to each other. One telling the other her hair was really sticky from getting stuff in it while painting. Gross. Dental assistant was kind & did xrays & scan. Dentist came in, asking what was wrong, so explained my toothache. He replied curtly, "You need a root canal" I was surprised as less than a year ago I'd had a very comprehensive exam & crowns, no cavities or root canals were mentioned. I asked if he could tell that from these xrays. His response was, "no, I don't need xrays I go by the symptoms a patient tells me." What??! I should have ran out from Dr Quackers there & then. Sigh. He then blew air on the tooth & tapped on it. Nothing. So he then says,"your issue is you have a crown there & the surface is too flat." I know it is meant to be bumpy, so kind of made sense to me. He got a drill & was grinding at the tooth for a while, no questions as to if I was okay with that, doing fine? Afterwards I commented that the same tooth on the other side was probably the same as it was also a crown. Dr Quackers response, "well that isn't the issue is it, so we're not going to touch that." Okay then. Then a final sweet goodbye from this gem, "now don't chew on that side of your mouth for 6 months, then come back & see me. We'll see how it is going then." I looked at him wondering if he was serious, he was! He said just learn to push the food over to the other side. 36hrs later & I am chewing on the other side of my mouth! I had a cold drink & no issues. Then had a yogurt though & that caused sharp pain that lasted for about 10 minutes. So now I am left to look for another dentist. This time hopefully not as pretentious, haughty or flat! So there goes a few hundred bucks to Mr Quackers. Beware & be aware!!!

Turns out they would NOT take my secondary insurance after all. Took me forever to get a written estimate. The day before the surgery, I called because the pharmacy still had not received any orders for meds that were prescribed to be taken the morning of surgery - never called in - they forgot. After the surgery, pain meds were to be called in and never were - again - they forgot. I wonder what else was "forgotten" during the surgery???? DO NOT USE THIS PRACTICE!!

While my son and I waited in the room for the doctor to come in, it was quiet, as most medical offices are....when all of a sudden in the hallway we hear a conversation between Dr. Sudbrink and another person during which he used the "F word" several times. The first few times I just sat there, then I just stood up and poked my head out into the hall and said "Uh, my son is in here." At this time, I had no idea who is who in this place. I turned back into the room to go sit down and I heard him say to me "Well, you don't have to listen, this is my office." So I replied with a question "Yeah, so don't you think you should be more professional than this?" He went on and told his co-workers that I was "eavesdropping on his conversation". Let's be clear, there was no overhead music or any other noise for that matter, like I said.... it's a doctor's office so the fact that he was not trying to be quiet during his rant about how his office isn't making enough money or how there are too many dentists around or how people don't understand the difference between oral surgeons and dentists isn't my fault, the only person to blame here is Dr. Sudbrink.

Several months later and without any contact from Family Dentistry of Lititz, a collections agency sent me a notice that I owed Family Dentistry almost $500. The office initially claimed it wasn't really a collections agency contacting me, although the notice was from Transworld Systems Inc., which identified itself as a collections agency on behalf of the office. They then said the collections agency is how they generally bill patients, and that the notice was my bill for the sealants. After several ignored phone calls, I eventually spoke to the office manager, who refused to apologize for the office's mishandling of the situation but eventually offered a 50% discount. I said it was inappropriate to ask me to pay anything, given that I wouldn't have done the sealants if they weren't, as originally purported, free, and the fact that I was reported to collections instead of being properly billed. I was countered with a 25% discount. Instead of receiving an itemized bill with a list of charges that I should have received in the first place, the office then sent me a balance forward letter with no details. Needless to say, my husband and I left the practice and highly recommend going elsewhere for dental services.
