Also, while doing a root canal, he said he was having difficulty completing it and sent me to a specialist. That Doctor found a metal piece from his 'pick' lodged in my gum I think. I told her that the situation was handled gracefully by another staff member who followed up and that I felt comfortable coming back. Her son, the dentist I saw, was awesome both times that I saw him and it definitely made up for the previous transgressions. I visited this practice multiple times over the last year and usually had great experiences but this practice is not ethical in their billing practices. I visited in April for tooth pain and x-rays were taken. I visit again in June for a routine cleaning and I made sure to ask both the receptionist and the dental tech about needing duplicate x-rays in less than a 6 month's timespan and they reassured me that it would be covered by my insurance. I received a bill in the mail saying the 2nd set of x-rays weren't covered, which is no surprise, but the person receiving my call wouldn't transfer me to a manager or bookkeeper. Even after explaining my situation and being polite, I received to customer service.

Make sure you triple check your bills and appointments as they will try and double bill or over bill you for things. my daughters procedure was suppose to be a frenectomy and filling in ONE APPOINTMENT. Like the selfish money hungry people they are, they scheduled 2 appointments one for the filing and one for the frenectomy. so I was given 2 estimated bills about 200$ a piece, Both bills also had charges for nitrous oxide. I was concerned about my child having nitrous used on her twice and asked why the filling and frenectomy were not being done together in 1 appointment . I was first told it wasn't possible. after I kept questioning the women on the phone she went to talk with Patel and came back saying they would "allow me" to merge the two appointments. (so kind of them to allow me to keep the money(about 200$) they tried to screw me out off, by making 2 appointments with nitrous instead of one.) on sept. 14th my daughter had her procedure . . .which was a horrific nightmare. I was charged 100$ for nitrous and while they put the mask on her face they never talked her through taking calming breathes. she was upset and crying and saying she could still feel where they had " already numbed" . . .both patel and the hygienist kept telling my daughter " No Reason To Cry" & they would show her the tools first, or explain first before they did anything, just so she would calm down or mover her hands from blocking her face. . but they never did explain or show her creating alot of fear an disturst for my 8 yr old. in the end they had another hygienist come in at the last second to abruptly hold my daughters arms down, at this point she was screaming in fear and pain as patel began to slide a laser tool back and forth on her frenulum. When I arrived today for my appointment, I was promptly greeted at the front desk. They had everything they needed. Hygienist came out within 10 minutes and took me back. Dr. Bommu did her exam, asked and answered questions. She was very personable. They have a small off street parking lot behind the building off Mt Zion Road. I work for the defense industry and buy supplemental policies to keep bills to a minimum. Throughout the three years we've gone to Yorkshire Dental its "discovery learning" when it comes to billing. IT seems there's never a problem until we come in for an appointment. At first, there's a mix up between assigning our primary and supplemental insurance (which they had the nerve to blame on my wife). Then my spouse wasn't covered by any policies at all and we received bills (since rectified). Then there's mix ups in submitting insurance claims. Then they couldn't properly submit claims in a timely manner. The law says claims must be submitted in a timely and reasonable manner. I now have an outstanding bill for $1700 from May of 2024. They are working through it and have three options in my opinion: 1. Fix it with the insurance company (who normally set 90 days to one year to submit a claim), 2. Write if off due to their own inefficiency, or 3. send me the bill have force me to take them to small claims court (where a lawyer would cost them more than what I owe with a judge possibly seeing them not being "timely and reasonable". Either way, enough is enough. We've cancelled out appointments and will find a new dentist. It's a shame that an inefficient front office staff cost Dr. Bommu a customer who loved her work.
