We just had a luncheon there yesterday and they did a fantastic job! We were about 40 women- we all ordered off the menu- no limitations- and everything was great- food, service were excellent, AND separate checks for everyone, they didn't even bat an eye! I went in earlier today with my family & There was a slight misunderstanding with my order, I was blown away by the way the manager Josh took care of me and my table. After waiting a while, the manager came over to take our drink orders and said our server will be there soon. She ended up bringing our drinks and taking our food order. Merica burger was very good, burger with macaroni and cheese and bacon! I ordered my fries with the honey on the side but instead it was put on it. Kid burger was good. I am a Hickory Tavern newbie...but I will be back! I opted to eat light today so I only had the Brussel sprouts minus the bacon and drizzled with balsamic...Wowzer! My only regret was that I didn't order more! Well cooked, seasoned to perfection with just right "crunch". My other dinner guests had chicken Alfredo pasta and quesadillas. And they too, enjoyed their meal immensely. Looking for a great lunch spot while out running around. Do yourself a favor and slow down long enough to let yourself enjoy this place. My son has a track meet and this location is right down the street from the Weddington Middle,Elementary & High schools as well as the soccer fields. Also, if you are driving to the area from Charlotte, you will pass the MAJOR Congestion in Weddington; this is in the opposite direction and easy to get to and back. Inside it's nice and open with seating inside and out. There are also lots of TVs to watch on various channels Everything was clear and service was great. As I stated, my son had a track meet and ordered the chicken pasta. Although it was tasty, it was a little greasy for his stomach once he tasted it. The manger allowed us to send it back & just get some fries. She was really understanding and took it off the tab. (I still tipped the waiter on the full amount as if it was still on the bill) The quesadilla was the perfect lunch size even though it is on the appetizer menu. Because it's on the appetizer menu, it doesn't come with a side so I ordered the Tavern chips. They are homemade and so good and crispy!! I give it 4 stars only because in this day in time, they were very few vegan options. The only option was Brussel Sprouts and Sweet potato fries. They did offer the option of leaving the bacon out of the Brussel Sprouts. And putting the honey butter on the side of the sweet potato fries. Can I also share that the Sprouts had the PERFECT char!! All in all it was a great visit and when back on that side of town, we would go again. read more

Last night our family agreed to try Hickory Tavern in Wesley Chapel again after experiencing less than desirable service the last few times. We were blown away with the friendliness of the staff, service, food was scrumptious, and the attempts made to meet all the different football game request of the customers. I would have a better review but for a sports bar they have more than half of their 30+ TVs tuned to ESPN. Fine and great except it plays nothing but commentary with minimum sports coverage and without volume. Can we turn the rest of them to The View also, just as entertaining. Our family goes to Hickory Tavern all the time, it is one of the few places all three of our boys can agree on and have something on the menu for them to eat that they actually like. Last night we went and had a new server to us. his name is Josh. Josh was very attentive, and was super fast with anything we needed which was a pleasant change to typical service speed. He checked in regularly without it feeling like he was trying to rush you out to turn the table. One time he stopped by he noticed my son playing a game on his phone that he also plays. He asked if he could friend him and they immediately started trading things to help each other. My son was thrilled. We went in for dinner at one of our favorite restaurants and now we have a new favorite server. Looking forward to our next visit with Josh! read more

Better than average bar food. Food is generally good and served hot. Price is reasonable. Service is good. I wish it were more clean including the smell in the wash room to clean your hands. I too wish even a few of staff had a bigger personality as it would likely be more infectious and the quality and experience would be better and equal the cost of food. Allowing a better experience for consumers and too a better work place attracting quality staff and brining better salary for them. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to give the Hickory Tavern @Weddington two stars. There was a period where they came back in. Their food was good and their service was excellent. But now their food is mediocre and the service is horrible. I typically would do this, but this is the second time consistently that this is happened, where we had to go search for our waitress And the food seems to be satisfactory. They need to make sure their servers are more attention to their customers so the food is taken out while it's still hot and attentive to see if there's anything is needed instead of customers having to look for their wages. read more

And I figured we'd swing by he like the burgers. We sat at a high top and waited for 10 minutes before anybody came over. When they did they dropped just a menu and silverware. No ask for drinks or I'll be right back. 10 minutes later we left. Zero attention, no eye contact, several servers walked by same happened. A young couple with kids came in 5 minutes after we did. They left 30 seconds after we did. If your going to be open make sure u have the people to support. Close a section if needed to control what u can. What a waste of time!!! My family and I (7 of us total) went there today specifically for the Saints versus Panthers game. Even though the place was packed, our server, Natalia, was awesome! The manager, Josh, also stopped by several times to make sure things were going well. The place is clean and the food is great. Definitely gonna be my go-to on game days. read more

For the most part it's a sports bar with sports bar food. Normally I get the Smokehouse burger which is very good. Tonight, I changed things up a bit and ordered the steak tacos. It was OK, but I will stick to the Smokehouse next time. Went early 530pm, no crowd and ate outside. Very comfortable. Service was satisfactory. After a day of work just to get a quick bite of no fast food, Hickory Tavern works for me. read more

Have been coming to HT since we moved to Weddington, and consistently like the food and ambience. The menu has recently changed, and some of our favorites have been removed from the new menu :-(.
