My shop was fairly early in the day between 9 and 10 AM and not many shoppers yet but still a fair number in the time I was checking all the shelves. I bought my usual weekly organic veg and a meat option for later in the week treat. Cutting back on animal protein lately more and more but just cannot abandon it yet. However I've sampled cinnamon buns from a LOT of Edmonton's bakeries & bistros. I've discovered a new favourite & one of the best characteristics is it's not priced @ $6/bun. Sunterra bakes a 9" diameter Pecan Cinnamon Ring which sells for $9,99. Examine it & you'll find it's made up of 6 or 7 cinnamon buns baked together. I carefully saw them apart with a bread knife & pop them in sandwich bags individually & freeze. Whether I'm brunching alone or with friends, I defrost overnight, pop them in a 350 degree oven until the butter/sugar/cinnamon filling is melting. Perhaps a light touch of butter? Close to what Mom made & less than $2 apiece! Bon appetit!

This is a decent Safeway location…read more I don't usually like to shop at Safeway because I find it's the most expensive place to get groceries, but when I'm in a bind, I'll stop here. This Safeway doesn't have the best selection out of the Safeways I've been to but it's pretty good. It's one of the better ones. The tore is usually pretty clean and it's attached to the mall (you have to go down a little hallway) so that's nice. Overall, it's not bad. Like I said, its one of the better Safeways I've been to.

I enjoy a number of British candy bars and was able to find most of them here. I also tried Irn-Bru for the first time, which is a classic Scottish soft drink (spoiler alert: it is VERY sweet). The variety of crisps is amazing, with many unusual flavours. I bought a bag of Guinness chips but have not tried them yet. Prices are reasonable considering these are imported items, and the location is just off of Whyte Avenue - perfect for a visit will taking a stroll around the area.
