Chicken and shrimp with fried rice & veggies
Beth S.

This place is really good for hibachi to go. I was surprised to see so many negative reviews! It was spot on and the yum yum sauce is perfect! My portions were great. It's a quiet counter service, but they were offering specials and new menu items. Worth the trip if you're craving hibachi but don't want to sit shoulder to shoulder with strangers in a loud restaurant for a 5 course commitment.

I went to the Fairlawn location and was not impressed. No sense that it was authentic. Worse that the average Asian take-out place.

More of a 3.5 rating rounded down to a 3 because of ambiance and experience as a whole…read more We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was BUSY. The storefront is surprisingly small and the inside is pretty cramped. We ordered a lot of things but just to get a server to give us menus and bring us waters took almost 10 minutes. Service was quite slow and getting our check took the longest. However, waiting for the actual food to come turned out to be not quite as bad. We got a bento box dinner, roll, separate salad (my BF couldn't help ordering this as an extra even though it's supposed to come with most entrees) and a fried collarbone of a tuna (forgot this term). Prices were slightly higher than other places like this but it did have this gigantic menu that was fun to browse. Taste and presentation of dishes were fine. Nothing really stood out. It wasn't really a place I was excited to go to again, especially not on a weekend. Early on while we were waiting for our food, the hostess gave my 8 yr old daughter a bill for another table with their debit card inside. We alerted the server after 5 minutes but that was not cool!

She advised us on which rolls were extra spicy and to get the oil on the side which was a great save since my friend felt that had she not removed it, the roll would have been too spicy for her to eat. I ordered the katsu curry with pork and the portion was huge. I had enough to take home for a second meal and the taste was very similar to what I had when I visited Japan. I was happy to find this dish and will come back to order again.

Overall, the food was pretty enjoyable, but there were a few things that held it back for us. The egg drop soup was very good -- flavorful, comforting, and filling. The sesame chicken tasted good, although the chicken itself was slightly over fried. The egg roll was also extremely fried to the point where it took away from the texture a bit. The Dragon & Phoenix had good flavor, but there was way too much sauce, and I actually had to pour some out to enjoy the dish properly. Overall, it was a decent meal and we did enjoy parts of it, but we're not completely sure if it's somewhere we would order from again.

The flavor was solid, and everything tasted fresh. The crab rangoons were crispy and definitely looked homemade. We also shared the bang bang shrimp as an appetizer. It was also crunchy and the sauce had a nice flavor. I personally loved the hot and sour soup, and for my entree I ordered the pepper steak, without onions. The prices are reasonable as well! Excited to come back here and try a few of their other dishes.

They told me they can give me the tip money back but would provide no information on the waitress who did this. I did not go up there to pick up the tip money because my bank issued me a credit. And did I want to take an additional 19$ even thought she had no problem stealing from me. After speaking with them honestly I believe the restaurant is aware of what is going on and may even be involved themselves. I suggest if any one decides to try this place out to pay attention to your receipt and bank transaction afterwards. Or just simply pay with cash.

The waitress sat us down with the menus and gave us no explanation on how to order, how it works or what was included. She just kept asking if we were ready over and over. Our whole group was confused. Our waitress did not help us at all. During the dinner, we had to ask several others walking around for more dishes (since it was all you can eat) since she never came back around to check on us or to offer if we wanted additional food. The food itself, the BBQ was the best! Great options, meat was tender and definitely got your moneys worth for the BBQ. However the sushi was not great. Not great quality fish, did not taste well and also was pretty mushy. I would not go back for the sushi. Hibachi was okay. Both all you can eat options came with appetizer buffet, which was also good and included in the price. Pretty disappointed , the restaurant was beautifully done and had a great ambiance but overall not sure if i'd ever come back.

The inside was very modern with a decent sized dining area and sushi counter. Their menu is very large with a wide variety of appetizer, sushi, ramen, and hibachi choices. They were also doing a $22 Sunday Special which had a huge portion! The service to start was a bit scattered and we felt a bit pressured to ordered immediately. As time went on, things improved. Our group ended up ordering the Fried Calamari (a bit small of a portion) & Gyoza appetizers which were thoroughly liked by the group. For mains, we ordered a variety of sushi rolls, ramen, and noodle dishes. The Lo Mein style noodle dish had a very large portion and great flavor. The favorite sushi rolls were the Eel & Cucumber, Spicy Crab, and all Specialty rolls. All "spicy" sushi was rather mild. All presentation aspects exceeded my expectations! The staff was kind to bring out a complimentary dessert and sing happy birthday for our guest of honor. This was incredibly kind to make our experience that much better!

She got a roll and I got two (salmon and sunset). Both were good! I wouldn't order the sunset roll again as the black pepper tuna was a little spicy for me, but the quality of everything was great. The salmon quality was awesome-- much better than usual smoked salmon. The fish was in big chunks and had a buttery texture. My only complaint is that the menu description was wrong and it said the salmon roll came with cream cheese (I know that's usually a Philadelphia roll, but that one had no description and the salmon roll said cream cheese, so i went with it.) Their spicy mayo was great! Prices were "normal" for sushi. Food was ready quickly.

They seemed a little short staffed considering their small dining area was full and had a steady flow of dine-in guests as well as a very busy takeout flow. Service wasn't very attentive. It was a cold/snowy evening and because of the constant stream of takeout orders the temperature inside the small space was either very hot or very cold. The food was good, though! We had the spicy kani salad, edamame, and four rolls. All were fresh and tasted good. This seems like a solid spot for takeout but not a place I make the trip to dine-in for.
