I am absolutely in love with this establishment! When hubby and I first entered for lunch, we were quickly created, given menus and told we could sit anywhere. We were given cold glasses of water and after placing our order, we had food within 10 minutes. HOT! Flavorful! Delightful smells! The ramen was the best! Very flavorful! We will definitely come back again! read more

A&J Ramen Spot - Chicken Katsu Ramen - Ramen Near Me - Kent, Ohio

We made a trip to Ohio, unfortunately I did get sick...luckily there was a restaurant right across the street from us that I wanted to try. Ramen sounds good to me. When we walked in thought it was counter orders but the young man asked if we were dining in and it was yes, he told us to pick a table and was brought menus. The customer service was amazing!!! He took our drink order and then our dinner order. I ordered the chicken Katsu ramen and my husband ordered the pork belly ramen. Both absolutely delicious!!! The customer service was top rate!! The atmosphere was amazing!! If we lived there we would definitely be weekly customers!!! read more

A&J Ramen Spot - B10 General Tsos Bento Box - Ramen Near Me - Kent, Ohio

What a gem of a place across from the Kent State Hotel! We went here for our first meal in Kent and it was the most memorable. Don't miss the pork belly ramen and the mango pomelo sago. I would go back again just for those! Service was quick, friendly, and efficient in a clean, modern restaurant. I'll be sure to come back here when back in Kent. read more

A&J Ramen Spot - R3 Pork Belly Ramen T12.Mango Pomelo Sago 5.Crab Wangong - Ramen Near Me - Kent, Ohio

Ordered from this place and the ramen was super greasy and the broth was not flavorful. Would not order from here again.

I really liked their Kimchi Ramen and the Porkbelly Ramen in my last two visits. My daughter had the Roast Beef Ramen and my son had the bento box. It has been a big hit with the family all around. There's a trendy and upbeat vibe to the place. The service has always been good. Counter service for takeout and table service for dine in. Bubble tea was good. I was really excited about the Jalapeño poppers, but disappointed when they came out with Crab in them (they looked delicious but I have a mild allergy). I've heard that their chicken wings are shockingly good (my coworker who tried them was shocked how good the wings from a ramen shop were). I haven't tried them yet. Parking for the spot isn't super convenient. You need to park in the public lot behind the building when it isn't reserved hours or street parking only. read more

Fast, affordable, friendly service. Best ramen in Kent. $13.5 for a huge bowl. Broth is extremely flavorful and noodles have great chew. Comes with bamboo shoots and wood ear mushrooms as well. Always a reliable ramen place! Interior is modern and clean with plenty of seating. Recommended! read more

When approaching the restaurant I almost missed it and had to loop around the block, which was fine because I parked in the lot behind the building (free after 5pm on weekdays and on the weekends). Upon entering (around 130 pm) there were 2 girls sitting together along the window seating (similar to a coffee shop or bar) and then one other further down. The place was obviously new (sign said opened november 4th) and clean. It looked like there were screens above the register/counter but they weren't on. The menu was clear and set up well. I ordered pork belly ramen (added mushrooms) and a Thai boba tea. The ramen was ok. Not the best nor worst I've had. The pork belly was cooked very well, the bamboo shoots were tender, there was a good amount of mushrooms added. The egg was slightly overcooked and the broth wasn't very exciting. I didn't see didn't broth varieties or options, which would have been nice. I ended up adding some soy sauce and it was a little better. The boba was disappointing. All of the pictures I've seen posted have shown black tapioca. Mine came out with crystal jelly. The woman who took my order came over to ask how it was and I said the crystal jelly wasn't expected and she said they "were experimenting." The tea was also VERY sweet (didn't see printed options for sweetness level) and had a spicy cinnamon like taste. She said it was the brown sugar syrup. It honestly may have been a brown sugar cinnamon syrup and was ok, but classic Thai tea lovers will likely not appreciate the taste. I'd go back, but likely try one of the bento boxes and a different beverage. read more

My first visit to A&J Ramen was awesome! When you walk in, it is very clean with an open and modern aesthetic. Ordering is super easy with an easy to understand menu, friendly staff, and great variety of options. It is open seating with a fast casual atmosphere. There are lots of different seating options making it welcoming if you are dining by yourself, a party of two or a large party. The serving sizes on the bento boxes is pretty generous so it is definitely a value considering how much you are getting. During my first visit, I ordered the General Tso's bento box and was very satisfied with it! After reading their menu, there is quite a lot that I want to try including the pork belly, so I will definitely be back. It is on the corner of Haymaker and Depeyster St in Downtown Kent, but the best parking spots is the lot just west of the building. The entrance to the lot is one block over from S Water St. in the alley way between Barrio and DP Dough. Keep in mind this lot is by permit only during the day but public parking after 5 pm. Other parking options are street parking or the PARTA parking garage 2 blocks away. read more

ended up getting food poisoning most likely from food being stored at incorrect temperatures

It's good when you're hungry and want Ramen. Rate the food a 6. Server was very nice and talkative. Large space for the whole campus to eat at. read more

The lady was very nice The food was amazing. Best time it was very, very clean and it wasn't that busy.

The food was delicious and did not take long before preparation. The boba tea was very good.

It's not easy finding solid Asian food around here so stumbling upon this little ramen spot felt like discovering a hidden gem. While it might not compete with the top-tier ramen joints you'd find in NYC or LA, for Ohio standards it absolutely delivers. The broth was flavorful, the noodles had a nice bite, and the shrimp tempura? Freshly fried and perfectly crispy no complaints there. Pro tip: If you like a bit of heat (or just want to add more depth to the flavor), ask for some gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) and chili oil on the side. It really elevates the whole bowl. Definitely worth checking out if you're craving ramen and in the area! read more

I got the salmon bento box. Honestly the salmon and rice were really good, but I was disappointed in everything else. That was probably the worst sushi I've ever had.... the boba was too sugary, and they covered the mochi in chocolate, whipped cream, and sprinkles. The egg roll and dumplings were fine just everything kinda tasted cheap and maybe frozen or just greasy I am not sure. The salmon was pretty small... I guess you get what you pay for. Just not my thing so maybe that's me, not to be so negative. I wish I got ramen. Might try again but I won't get the same things. Kinda feel like I wasted my money, but I wanted to try things so. Oh well. I was really mad about the mochi because I just wanted simple traditional mochi. read more

My family got some ramen from there a couple months back. We loved it tbh. It's hard finding good ramen in the area and so far this place didn't disappoint. I think I got the tonkotsu and wife got shio. The server was really nice and had a little small talk with us near the end of our meal. Place is clean and taken care of. Parking is the only pitfall of this location but struggle through it. I promise it's worth the visit! read more

Food was delicious, staff was very courteous and prompt, and the environment was clean and comfortable.

very yummy food! the restaurant was pretty empty but we sat down at a table and they came and gave us menus and then brought the food to us, even thought it looks like the type of place where you would order at the counter. everything was very clean including the gender-neutral bathrooms, and they had good music playing at a good volume. our food came pretty quickly. we also had the mochi ice cream which was really good too. read more
